Well GG cylons. I got 2 deep space cards. If cabal wants to confirm go ahead. Either way we lost.
Edit: to make it official Reveal Deep Space
Correct. And there are no +1 fuel crisis left in the deck. Coincidentally, it isn't the Cylons that did you in here, though I'm sure Binary could have finished you off.
The destination he sent to the bottom was one of your fuel locations; Tylium Planet. Granted, it would have been a roll of the die, but it was your best bet.
Okay Keifru, why may I ask, if you weren't a Cylon, and we aren't playing with the Cylon Sympathizer Variant... did you send a Fuel Stop to the bottom of the Destination Deck?

My best guess is that he didn't quite understand how 0 resources work (0 resources is only checked at the end of the turn), or though the die roll was too risky; I don't remember off hand, but I think almost all fuel locations require a die roll.
Edit: Either way...how did everyone feel about the Core set? Aside from my hosting blunders, comments and such? I have the other two expansions, so if you guys feel like playing again later, I can host another game.
Well since we got -1, and then we had a CHANCE of getting 1 back to be back at 1.
Did I read it wrong? =S I thought it would take us to 0, and we MIGHT get it back to 1. I thought there coulda been a lot of other better ones we could have gone to, than a distance 1 that may have ended the game.

Ok now that we got that out of the way. There was no way to avoid a fuel die roll. All the destination cards that raise fuel require a die roll, and tylium Planet is the easiest of the ones to get, (Needing a 4 to get the fuel as opposed to a 6 from the cylon refinery.) The only other card that would have worked was Refuge, which was a free jump PLUS repair up to 3 raptors/vipers.
Here were my destination choices BTW:
Quote from 1st Jump »
Cylon Ambush
Lose 1 fuel. Then place 1 basestar and three raiders in front of Galactica and 3 civilian ships behind Galactica.
Distance 3
That is the destination Lee left on top when he scouted.
Your other option is
Desolate Moon
Lose 3 fuel.
Distance 3.
Quote from 2nd Jump »
Barren Planet
Lose 2 fuel.
Distance 2
OR
Deep Space
Lose 1 fuel and 1 morale
Distance 2
Quote from 3rd jump »
Barren Planet: Lose 2 fuel. 2 distance
Icy Moon: Lose 1 fuel. The Admiral may risk 1 raptor to roll a die. If 3 or higher, gain 1 food. Otherwise, destroy 1 raptor. 1 distance.
As far as hosting is concerned, I think next time you have to make sure to tell us what crisis was discarded by the cylons, as that is public info. That is my only complaint. Knowing that would lead us to make more informed decisions in later turns, (for example scouting the crisis deck as opposed to the destination deck.)
Keifru, How it would have worked is we would have gone to 0, if we made the check we would be at 2 fuel. Then when the turn ends it would see 2 fuel not 0 and we would be fine. Also note Kobol is a free jump so all we needed was to survive 3-4 more crisis cards with jump prep to win.

That's not a concern if you play with Pegasus, as the cards go to the bottom of the deck.

I am no longer on MTGS staff, so please don't contact me asking me to do staff things. :|
I wouldn't be interested in playing a Pegasus-only game. I don't like the radical thematic shift of New Caprica, nor do I like the way the game is balanced with it.
I'd consider participating in a game with at least some elements of Exodus (conflicted loyalties and Basestar Bridge board, but probably not Ionian Nebula) as long as there was some mechanism in place to keep the pace of the game up. I found the pace of this game frustratingly slow at times.

You should see the one on Penny Arcade. It's taking a day+ just to get through a player's action step (go go State of Emergency).
I don't know how I would enforce game speed. I won't be starting one for a few days at least due to irl circumstances.
I probably won't be playing in the next one, I just couldn't stay interested in this game enough to really participate in another one. Thanks for letting me try it though.

Plus I'd like to see if I get a human this time. And, at the very least, a character whose usual best play is not an XO.
Part of the problem for you was that Cylon Fleet crises were so sparse and poorly timed (from the Cylon point of view, at least) that there just wasn't much repairing to be done.
