Transcendent will out race the Figure starting on turn 5 by gaining life with each swing. Both get to their top "level" on turn 6 (with the other player not creating a Swamp for the useless Blackmail), but at that point Transcendent is a 9/9 lifelink and Figure is only 8/8.
Due to Mindswords I have to ask for a clarification:
Is the previous deck playing to win or to not lose? If it's to win then they'd never sac the assassin for mind swords.

A card game about Presidents. Stabbing each other. With knives.
The goal is to win on the play and to win on the draw, but you usually only have to worry about the draw. That deck would win either way because the assassin would put a quick end to the rootwalla. Mindswords was almost impossible to beat in speed 3CB, I don't think it's possible to win when the opponents first turn makes you exile your entire hand.
Edit: The above deck won't win because his turn one play will make you exile your counter spell, nobody will win, but you have to WW to make your deck the one to beat.

I understand you're trying to win on the play and the draw, but there's no set rules for what the opponent is doing. Trying to win and trying not to lose are two different things. Trying not to lose, I don't know if the mind swords pile can be beaten (considering the leyline of sanctity has already been used). Trying to win, however, is a different story.
Your example shows him trying not to lose, not trying to win.
i believe it's just to thin out deck opportunities
Without the explicit rules for the opponent we can't know. If they're just trying not to be beaten, they can just play the mind swords turn one on the play and it's pretty much GG draw.
Okay, the rules are slightly rewritten to make Mind Swords (hopefully) beatable. Now you can force discard, but not until after an opponent's first turn.

The opponent goal is simply not to lose, if they win then you have at least one loss, before the update this ended in at best, WD.
Balance forces you discard your hand turn 2 so that doesn't work.
Please check to see if the deck above you actually works so we don't have so many illegal decks
2CB:
* You get two cards.
* You can "make" a basic land of your choice every turn.
Speed 2CB:
* Every single card used goes into the banned list.
* Your deck must beat the previous deck played both on the play and on the draw.
Difference from standard 2CB:
* You CAN force discards, but not until an opponent has taken their first turn.
Let's start with a classic:
Channel, Emrakul, the Aeons Torn.
Banned list as of post #18:
Aftershock
Basking Rootwalla
Blackmail
Burning Inquiry
Channel
Deft Duelist
Emrakul, the Aeons Torn
Figure of Destiny
Guul Draz Assassin
Leyline of Sanctity
Leyline of the Void
Mind Swords
Nether Spirit
Squire
Terminate
Transcendent Master
Please post an updated version of the banned list with your post, including cards you used.
Lets get rid of those.

Terminate destroys the Transcendent Master, and Squire delivers the beats.
Can't terminate something with shroud and my creature will get beats in faster. The Aftershock is just for fun.

This deck now wins due to being able to envelope the mind swords.
