When I replaced into the game, I just read through it and kept an eye up for generally scummy statements. The three players who kept popping up on my list were HG, WoD, and Cyan, but I tended to dismiss Cyan because he always plays that way. I'd seriously go through and say, "Oh, that looks really bad...wait, it's Cyan. Never mind." I guess that's just what comes from being mafia so often. You don't get much practice at thinking like a townie.
I was the vig, and had planned to kill WoD tonight.
What?! Look at the initial post; he is dead. Deceased. Kaputt. Indefinitely horizontal. In mafia games, you see, people are occasionally "killed off," and when that sad event occurs, he or she is no longer allowed to post, on account of rigor mortis and what-have-you.
'Welcome to Mafia Salvation', it said, 'Population: 3,660.' And someone, they never figured out who, had painted on the sign in red letters: '1,831 to lynch.'
Well, I was Vanilla Town, one of four, which I presume included either Salubrious or CPE.
Here's my PM.

There's no more thinking‘, and there's no more feeling/Cause there's no right opinion, So can you tell me what I'm supposed to do
Album: The White Stripes
Track :12
Town-aligned. This song features an awesome little vocal monolugue-y section in the middle. As such, you are one of the four great musician guys, representing Vocals. The other three represent Guitar, Bass, and Drums. 3 of the 4 are town, and the other one is not. Whenever one of you wishes to, you may reveal yourself to the town and these stipulations wil be revealed to them. Be forewarned that these may have unintended consequences!
I thought that was just because you were always scum
I was a the plainest and vanillist of tonies
Nah, I've been Cop in some games, and I still go out of my way to act kind of scummy. Not so much that I'd have to claim, but, enough so that I don't seem so town that the mafia would want to kill me. Then I just unload my findings when I can trade my identity for 2-3 mafia,
Essentially, a mafia-ally is a mafia member who does not know who the mafia is and the mafia doesnt know who he is. He doesnt have the mafia nightkill (but may have any number of other abilities). He wins with the mafia.
Actually my role was more complicated than that, as I had 2 albums I could switch back and forth from, the Mafia-ally role did have a kill, but I do not think it was a 100% kill, so I am not sure. WAIT A MINUTE... I might have killed WoD too. lemme check lol.
well I couldnt find who I killed, but after reading over my PM, I realised that it was a kill to all non-mafia. I liked the role, but the game kinda got screwed up.
cubus - as far as i know, everybody had one of the musical types
in relation to the mafia staying close, i've never really been so much against that, i mean, everybody as mafia always says 'try to stay away from each other', so if you were lynched, i wouldnt have thought that wuffles was scum, just from him sticking with you

Correct. In fact, taht's the main reason I couldn't continue: I have no clue who each person's instrument was.

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, the wisdom to know the difference, and a ****ing chainsaw.

That's why wuffles said "when they are close to lynch." A confirmed townie is a powerful figure to have when there's still a doc to keep them alive, almost definitely worth it for a cop about to die anyway

"Domanatrices are like dentists...you pay them to hurt you!"
For future reference, can someone tell me why false-claiming another mafia member's role is bad?
Okay, the following reasons...
One. It essentially forces the mafia to kill you off. THere is usually always a chance of survival, and this was dumb. If you were going to do something like this, you'd be better off claiming doc or cop so as to help the mafia in reality. Meanwhile, if there's an SK they now will be going after the player who is now "cleared". All in all, not the best thing.
Two. Say Cyan doesn't realize what you claimed (and he almost didnt'). Say you got lynched. Now Cyan would look incredibly scummy for not counterclaiming you if he came under suspicion.
Three, say you Don't get lynched and cyan doesnt counterclaim you. Now if cyan gets threatened/killed, you're in danger of death as well.
In other words, you tie yourself to the mafia and don't really clear the fellow mafia member (as that member will either get SK killed N1 or be suspected when he isnt night killed by the mafia despite being confirmed). You were better off claiming doc if you thought you were dead.

I love Joboman, Poggy, Niv, and Vezok, because, while they may not be the best players, they still try to win. Having fun is the most important thing to a game, but I've learned that if you don't try to win, then you're ruining everyone else's fun.
For future reference, can someone tell me why false-claiming another mafia member's role is bad?
A few things:
1) It now forces the other mafia member to come up with a false-claim. This is unnecessary, as you could've just come up with that false-claim yourself.
2) If there were a cop role that got role names, and it found the other mafia member, that's equivalent to getting "scum" on 2 players in one shot.
3) If the other mafia member dies, you're again out of luck, as you're guaranteed guilty.
4) For this game (and many other games), there doesn't seem to be any reason for you to need a false name-claim, as names don't appear to have any connection to alignment.
the instrument thing, it depends on the distribution, and even if he knew the distribution, he may have been able to re-randomize them, keeping fade's as drummer
and i think my role was really random
i had this utopic view of me getting 3 in a row right, and winning right after n3
not amazingly likely, but still really possible
I was the vig, and had planned to kill WoD tonight.

Here's my PM.
As far as me being scummy, I always act in a way that others perceive as scummy intentionally.

However, it seems cops are very often outed confirming another townie as confirmed town when they are close to lynch.

Post your PM. It sounds like a cool role

That was the main reason?? You couldn't just assign new ones?

IMO, it is typically a mistake to out yourself as the Cop just to keep a vanilla townie from dying.
