I love Joboman, Poggy, Niv, and Vezok, because, while they may not be the best players, they still try to win. Having fun is the most important thing to a game, but I've learned that if you don't try to win, then you're ruining everyone else's fun.
Wow, lots of action already. Of course, it is a game of nearly 30 people, most all of whom are random voting right now, so it shouldn't seem that surprising.
Quote from Puzzle »
You people really don't know how to play. There is an obvious hint just in front of you :
A quick Google research showed this. As you can see, silicon costs about eight times more to obtain a meager less-than-1% quality increase. What other proof do you need ?
Vote silicon.

Ah, but see, silicon is a god, and therefore perfect. So he's actually much much more costly than that. Are you sure we can afford to lose him?

Blue, I frown upon such methods of random vote generating (and random FoS's too?). Sure Determine it through a die roll, tell us you determined it through a die roll, but don't actually show us such. It removes the ability for you to be hinting at actual suspicions/investigations, and doesn't allow us to speculate that you were distancing yourself from Puzzle when he inevitably comes up scum (you thought I hadn't caught your blatant tell?).
All of my random votes, as much as I assure you they're random still contribute to the game state, your posts on the other hand contribute nothing.[/:teach:]
Ambush Krotiq makes me laugh so much. I keep rereading the card and it keeps not having Flash. In what sense is this an ambush again? I just have visions of this huge Krotiq poorly concealed in some bushes, feeling slightly sad that his carefully planned ambushes never seem to work.

That's just one of the definitions, I think smitten is still right. I just thought it'd be fun since apparently Azrael has a man-crush on me if Puzzle had one on you. Seems only fair, right?

On a more constructive note.. Azrael may be faking the self-vote thing, but that means he is actively giving up his right to vote, which is stupid. So I think it's true. He hasn't put smilies in all his posts, so that's not part of his role.
what god would vote themselves?
and what would hawkeye be, assuming hes not rhyming to throw us off? some sort of musical/poet god?
Anyway, I somehow get the feeling that Puzzle has been trying to push the game along a little faster than everyone else. A couple of his posts have just been random crap (like the line in referece to people "going crazy"), but just about everything else starting with his 3rd post about 13 hours into the game has been at least a very minor push to move the game forward a little faster.
For some reason I just get the feeling that this is a little too much pushing (one or two posts at this point seems fine, but this is like 4-5).
I frown upon you trying to read way too deeply into some dice rolling.
Not reading anything into it, I was just saying that it's impossible to read anything into it. Thus, it, unlike other "random votes, is entierly pointless, as opposed to mostly pointless.
Also Leilani I suspect your comment was directed, or atleast inspired by me. I don't think there's anything wrong with not "random" voting. In fact it's probably best if not everyone does it. I just think it's fun to throw my votes around, and have recently come to the understanding that "random" votes do serve a purpose. (And that RANDOM votes don't.)
Unvote
From now on my votes will have at least some actual meaning behind them.

Crap Logic Alert! I don't actually see Puzzle as making a particular effort to advance the game, but if he is, how is that in anyway vote worthy. It shows more than anything a desire to play the game, but if I had to give it an alliegance, I'd call it pro-town.

I probably was reading way too much into that, but at this point, I prefer to go with my gut feeling (which surprisingly is not to just do nothing right now).
I do see a lot of that pushing as mostly a joke, but I didn't really see anything in it that was really pro-town. However, despite the joking nature of it, I just feel like there is a little too much pushing to move the game forward too early into day 1.
So, my vote stands. I refuse to be peer pressured into taking my vote off when I actually had a reason!!

It's an excellent example of the mathematical concept of 'game theory'. Remove the human element and factor decisions based on something your opponents can't counteract.
But, it's not very much fun in mafia games, though.

The reason I associated you and Puzzle is that that is whom your vote landed on. If either of you are proven scum we could use this (as well as many other points) to establish a relationship.
Rather we could use this info if your vote had been derived through a non random method. As it is, no matter how good (or bad) your vote on Puzzle would make you seem, it means squat.
Genuinely random voting has a use when the town hasn't any genuine suspicions or means of generating such suspicions in time to avoid a deadline. Other than that, it's a pretty worthless practice.
That said, it's easy to believe that the day isn't moving forward, given the amount of pointless stuff that's been posted, and that could be a reasonable motive for believeing that the town has no means of generating genuine suspicions, so I'm not willing to attribute bluesoul's action to scumminess just yet. Be assured, however, blue, that random voting and even the silly spam we've seen so far does serve a purpose, and is important to the rest of the game. In fact, it's something of a relief to me to see it happening; the past couple games I've been involved with have come close to dying (or actually did die) because people weren't willing to put themselves out there like this.
What?! Look at the initial post; he is dead. Deceased. Kaputt. Indefinitely horizontal. In mafia games, you see, people are occasionally "killed off," and when that sad event occurs, he or she is no longer allowed to post, on account of rigor mortis and what-have-you.

Unlikely. In four posts, little has been consistent between them, length-wise or content-wise. Just because he's taken it upon himself to provide us with unofficial vote counts doesn't mean he has to.
Of course, it MAY be part of his role. I seem to recall someone saying that they would design a role that had to post vote counts as part of it. It might have even been D_M.
