The crypto claims can hurt us, if they can be decoded. And being able to decode these things does not take an idiot encoding them, just a dedicated effort by the scums to figure out specific parts of claims. And even if they only figure out a couple, its enough that I will think this exercise detrimental. You jumping the gun by starting these off before we saw how easy or difficult the sample ones were to solve doesn't help either.

And we could have always done this claim, but with another layer or two of hiding the information. It locks people into their claim regardless, but makes it harder to decode.

and @Alx, do you mind posting the solutions to your samples?

Of those I only think FL's is borderline coaching.

However, Andelijah's wanting solutions hits me wrong.

The whole point of his posting fake acronyms was to see if anyone can solve them, so we would see if this type of claim is safe enough. I solved them in about thirty minutes here (I thought it said "doctor" instead of "destroy," but otherwise right).

That is also why I don't like you starting off the claiming so early: I think it would have been better to claim second, or maybe even the last letter of the claim instead of the first, because its much easier to decipher words knowing the first letter.

At best you were vaguely correct at saying the second was "not a power role", though even that could mean alot of things other than vanilla. Besides that you didn't get either of the rolenames, you got the first ability wrong (and mixing up destroy and doctor in that sentence only means you were less correct, considering the grammatical impossibility of them both being at that place in the sentence), and to top it all off you weren't even sure of what you said.

No, I'm saying I knew the first was a power role (with the "Every Night can D... someone"), and the second wasn't ("other than vote"). That is enough to considered them solved, because if the scum got that far, it would be easy to know which one to kill. Rolenames are irrelevant if you have the abilities.

So, while I may have been wrong about the specifics, 30 minutes gave me enough information to know who was a power role and who wasn't. That means that acronym claims are unlikely to be as safe as everyone thinks they are.

And I consider things to be a power role if they have night actions, so basically vanilla, masons, or players with drawbacks. So I don't know where you're getting "that could mean a lot of things other than vanilla."
