I love Joboman, Poggy, Niv, and Vezok, because, while they may not be the best players, they still try to win. Having fun is the most important thing to a game, but I've learned that if you don't try to win, then you're ruining everyone else's fun.
I might feel really, really bad about this later...but I can't resist.
Goodbye, Loran.
*grins* I made you waste your daykill. Excellent.

oran16 wandered down the dusty road, wringing his gnarly hands as he considered what mischief he might be up to today. He had been walking all morning, and came upon a place he did not recognize. There was a stone wall covered with mosses and vines in the forest, barely visible through the tree growth. He decided to follow it and soon found a door in the wall. "What a curious adventure," he thought as he stepped through the doorway and began to explore.
So, who is a fan of joking about daykilling Loran, and has a greater sense of humor than a competitive instinct? That might help narrow our list of suspects.
In other news, who else is on the replacement list but allowed to post, rather than a player within the game? Just me?
My problem with the SK or even the DK speculation is the flavor that went along with it. According to the flavor (and I apologize for gaming the mod here) loran just wandered off never to be seen again. That doesn't sound like an SK or a DK to me
What part(s) of "loran16 was Rumpelstiltskin, Town Lynch Doubler" are equal to what names?
"Town Lynch Doubler" was loran's role. Rumpelstiltskin was his role name. If he had a true name other than Rumpelstiltskin, it would also have been revealed.

I can't explain how hard I laughed as I scrolled down to see Kraj's gigantic L. My cat is scared.
vote Chris, dicevoters have no spine
Lynch doubler...double the lynches for one day? Doubling the amount of votes needed for a lynch might actually be possible depending on replacement list shenanigans.
Also, you guys should be aware that as far as I can judge, replacement list players don't have a town or mafia alignment prior to entering the game. My win con is to compete for "favour points". So if folks want to do things that will send those my way, that would be spiffy.
It's a Kraj original, so there's no telling for sure. My best guess is that Kraj decided that it was Kraj's answer to the Aezwolging (or is it Cyaezwolging, now?) phenomenon: let the town lynch twice during a day if it needed to. Gives us extra kill-power, but doesn't enable people to do something random and pointless.
*eyebrow at Cyan*
Probably had a limited amount of uses, since doubling lynches on a daily basis would take too much time.
I know that there's an unfortunately large minority of people that would consider doing what you just did with a daykill due to the recent meme that seems to have developed around it, but that doesn't make it okay. I'd be likely to excuse a newb caught up in the "joke about daykills early" fad (or CC just doing his thing), but you know better than that. It'd be all to easy for scum with a daykill to use the rampant jokes as cover for firing an early daykill. In fact, I'd find that more likely than a townie actually killing someone this early.
Of course, Ged took the concept to new heights in Insane Asylum.
I thought of that example, and there was a difference. I waited until discussion seemed to be stagnant and I had found a target I thought had a decent chance of being scum. You just fired straight out of the gates.
I was just having a little fun..
Yeah, I totally empathize with that. It's why I haven't used my daykill on you yet :p.

That was a fast daykill. I don't really understand the need for it but neither do I think that it makes Cyan scum.
The replacement being allowed to talk is interesting and while it would appear that they have no alignments the fact that they have wincon's means they have their own agenda. As such they should not be blindly trusted.

Anyway, it could be the daykill flavor, for all we know. Maybe Loran got ambushed whilst exploring.
I'm leaning towards an SK kill because of the feel of the flavor, and because town daykills usually function as extra lynches, whilst Loran's ability apparently "doubles lynches", whatever that means.
Also please explain the correlation between Lorans role and this kill being from a SK

I saw nothing scummy about the way he handled it. As you say "I cannot rationalize a good reason for you to do what you did.", there was nothing that seemed to be a good play about it. However the idea that it would be fun to kill someone can just as easily come from a town mindset.
Do I like what he did? No.
Do I think that this makes him more scum than town? No.
And here's a little WIFOM but would you expect a scum with a daykill to use it this early for such a poor reason?
A question for everybody: Have there ever been scum with daykills/SK with daykills that have to type something in the thread to make their daykill?
I keep checking the thread, waiting for it to open to finally get in early and FAIL.
As to the loran issue and his death, there are way to many possibilities as to the cause of his death. The true name mechanic may have been involved in some way, maybe the SK needs a true name for their ability to function?
Could this be a modkill?
Maybe Town lynch Doubler needs only half the amount of votes to be lynched? But with only 3 votes and 12 to lynch half would be 6 votes, and therefore everyone voting loran would have to be a double voter, and that seems almost impossible.
As to my thoughts as to who did it, I lean modkill and if not then some true name shenanigans with no way of knowing who committed the deed.
I'm amused that [Shalako], of all people, are talking about terrible reasoning. "Hey, PF's RVS daykill must be serious, therefore I should shoot him to prove that I have a daykill!"

Yes.
