If anyone wants to daykill Cyan, that'd be nice.
Oh, wait.
But seriously, this Cyan wagon seems rather oppurtunistic. It's one of the biggest tells in my book for somebody to jump on/be critical of someone else who is likely town (by role), because they had misused a public ability. It's pretty often that there's scum behind it all.
Indeed. It brings to mind SSB "what.the.hell" reaction to samoht's daykill in Star Trek EU (SSB was scum - samoht town one shot daykiller).
EWP: Az, you can have a favour point. If I knew what they were.
Why so quick to give something that you have no idea about?

FoS Callaway FoS kpaca
(Less so Ged. His vote seems more reasoned)
Well, it's a kill before we even have any suspicions of each other. Therefore, it wasn't likely to be from a town source. Then I read the random phase a bit more in-depth, and saw Cyan basically pre-confessing to it there.
Loran's role doubles lynches. I speculated that the role is therefore something like a daykill that we vote on. A daykill that we vote on + a normal town daykiller in the same setup would be unusual.
I'm basing it on previous game examples. In Battle Royale, AE was a newb day-SK, who made a kill early on in day 1.
Could you expand on what exactly you mean by "I don't like"?
Hmm. You're disputing my read on you, whilst trying to not appear to do so. Not to mention that you dodged the question.
Agreed.
FoS Some One
...Infinis, are you reading the thread?
EWP: Az, you can have a favour point. If I knew what they were.
Is that your plan then??? To throw around as many FOS's as you can manage??? Might as well go ahead and FOS Az for good measure too. That said I don't see why you keep defending Cyan as townish. Nor do I see where you drew a correlation between Lorans ability and the likelyhood that he was hit by a SK, nor do I see why you dismissed it as unlikely Cyan so quickly. As for you asking me why I don't like your noob infatuation, I will gladly expande on the idea. I think you could be pushing for newbs because they are easy to frame and easy to lynch.
As for the bolded statement I think you need to reevaluate your "book", and ask yourself what about Cyan's action was townish.
That's one example I can think of off-hand. The other was Ahasver in clan 2HG mafia, where, after the town multivoter made several votes, his response was to accuse the multivoter of "baseless voting under pressure", and responded with a vote of his own.
Or, another example I can think of. In Insane Asylum mafia, Absolutionis claimed cult leader day 1 (really), in an attempt to counterclaim the scum who claimed neutral survivor. I believe that ZDS's (mafia) response was to go "Lynch the cult leader!" or something.
It's why stuff like this can sometimes be a help. Nobody expects it, and, as a result, everybody gives genuine reactions, which makes the scum easy to read.
"If I knew what they were".
I don't know what they are, I don't have the ability to give them (as far as I can tell), and so I can't give them. It's a bit of joking on my part.
I think your joke was neither funny, nor should you make jokes like that. When you posted it smacked of pandering to Az.

Also, you guys should be aware that as far as I can judge, replacement list players don't have a town or mafia alignment prior to entering the game. My win con is to compete for "favour points". So if folks want to do things that will send those my way, that would be spiffy.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but if your goal is to collect favor points, should you not be doing the hoop jumping to have them sent your way? No hand outs for joo!
You know, if I hadn't seen Cyan talking about changing his playstyle, I'd end this with a vote on him. But I think this is another step in his change, not worrying about being ultra-competitive and trying to have fun, albeit rather inaccurate fun.
Either way, I'm not seeing the DK as a reason to vote him.

1. If the town wants to take my advice, that's all well and good. But at the moment, I don't think explaining what tells to avoid is helpful, and I don't have a huge incentive to push really hard for a kill on anybody. There's a just a fair probability that I'll replace into town than mafia, and if so, then Callaway should probably die.
2. Yes, I have a role PM.

I can see that read as well. It's not as good as Callaway and Ced, though.
What it is with people whose names begin with "C" being evil this game?
Thanks for answering my question, but it leads me to ask another one. Can you elaborate at all on what a "favor point" is?
I'm not sure that, if I were a scum with a daykill, I'd use it this early on loran.
Certainly not a good play, but not one I see as a scummy one.
Eh. Probably. Random early daykilling isn't something that should go unchecked, and I still see it as something clever scum could easily get away with. But yeah, probably.
It's humorous when even the most reckless of actions appear to work out to the town's advantage. Vote Callaway
@Emo: Honestly, that's probably putting more thought into it than it deserves. I was being very impulsive. Which is stupid, frankly, but I got caught up in the excitement of actually having a daykill and decided to have a little fun with it.
@Greymon: Why do you want to know about favor points?
Quote from Emo_Pinata »
@Replacements that can post: Is that your only ability?
For the same reason that you just asked about, and to ultimately know if we can trust what they say. They have Role PMs and they have win cons, so I'm going to treat them like another player in the game (meaning I'm going to analyze them, and not trust everything they say right away) because they could very well have hidden agendas.
Also, I'm not really seeing what Callaway did that tipped you guys off, but I'll go reread a couple pages back and see if I missed it.

I could think of no reason, besides sheer madness, that you would daykill loran as you did. I read through the thread and thought very nice play scum, frame Cyan and leave us to debate your guilt. But I was thinking to logically. I am starting to see why you are lynched day 1 so often, I thought people just hated you for previous play; my mistake for being so naive.
I'm amused that [Shalako], of all people, are talking about terrible reasoning. "Hey, PF's RVS daykill must be serious, therefore I should shoot him to prove that I have a daykill!"
Random early daykilling isn't something that should go unchecked, and I still see it as something clever scum could easily get away with. But yeah, probably.
One tends to agree. However, one can't see the logic of scum killing early and randomly. Keeping such a card to fakeclaim a kill-ability or day-vig would be too attractive to pass up. It's all WIFOM, one guesses.
In other news, damn you all for being on the other side of the globe. Stop posting when I'm asleep!

Lynched Day 1 so often? I've been lynched Day 1 once in my entire mafia career. For that matter, in the 100+ games I've played, I've been lynched less than 10 times ever. Maybe you have me confused with someone else?
Regardless, your reaction(s) to the daykill are understandable, and don't speak against you. Unlike the reactions of say, Some One or Callaway.

Ok seriously.... this is stupid... Why are multiple people voting me without a single reason stated, while at least two people have asked for the thoughts behind those votes.
And weird too... Why would the SK (or day vig) do that? This early in the day, firing off a shot is really weird...
Not that I've ever even played in a game that has a daykiller. >.<
BTW What does "Town Lynch Doubler" do?
This comes across as "too talkative" to the point of seeming like nervous chatter. It does not feel like a natural post, and the comments on "that was fast" and idly speculating on SK/dayvig ...

Meh, I guess it does. I'm just trying to actually give some input this game; last few games I've played I mostly just barn off of what someone else is saying against a player, I'm going to try not to do that (too much) this game.
This is not a legitimate reason for a vote. Yes, the action was weird, but you give no explanation for why this is a scummy action.
It's legitimate in my mind. I thought it seemed weird to use a DK (whether vig or sk) in the first few pages of the game.

The earlier the better, actually. Later there is usually an abundance of evidence. I was working off of two posts when I made my vote.
I never disagreed. All I did was agree. Is agreeing scummy now?
Agreeing on something that isn't particularly controversial is.
A rather extreme example:
A: Killing people is wrong.
B: I agree.
Now, why would B say that? Motivations that I can see:
1) Expects disagreement on the subject.
2) "Me too!" - wants to be associated with that opinion for some reason.
I don't think 1 applies here, and I expect 2 to come from scum.
It's legitimate in my mind. I thought it seemed weird to use a DK (whether vig or sk) in the first few pages of the game.
You have not explained why you think Cyan is scum.
Gah... what more do I need to explain? I found Cyan daykilling loran this early weird. That was why I voted him; daykilling him this early doesn't seem like a very town-ish move.

I noticed the same two posts that Azrael originally noted, then commented on this fact earlier this page (40ppp). After Callaway decided that he'd keep on digging, I slapped a vote down. Pretty simple.
Az puts it better than I can, but Callaway's exchange with andelijah stunk pretty bad.

Ok cool, the fact that you didn't get defensive is noted (although everyone in this game seems to be leagues above me so I wouldn't expect you to get defensive) but I was just wondering if you had any of your own tells that you had seen, thanks for explaning the vote a little bit better.
Hey Az, I'm going to help you out with your vote total by asking you another question: On a scale of 1 to 10 where 1 is "Only a hunch" and 10 is "I couldn't be more sure of anything" how sure are you that Callaway is scum?

I agree that Callaway is likely scum because I remember in my first game as scum, I was looking to equate anything with scuminess, including weirdness. In my first game as scum, I didn't want to listen to this tidbit, that's undeniably the truth - I wanted to hear nothing from nobody that weird =/= scum. However, in later games, I quickly came to terms and understood the fact that weird/strange/unusual/awkward =/= scum at all, and may very well indicate quite the opposite or oftentimes indicate nothing at all.
Vote Callaway - to top it off, your response to Azrael was
Not really sure how to defend against any of this... my first attempt at defending against andelijah apparently was an epic fail so I really think digging myself into a deeper hole is not the best idea, and digging is exactly what I'll be doing if I try to defend myself. But still, all I'll say is this: I am not scum. This whole case revolves around me voting Cyan for bad reasons, essentially. I've stated my reasoning for doing so. I think it makes sense; most people think it is scummy. I can see how it is scummy, if you look at it a certain way. Given that Cyan hasn't made any further screw-ups (that I can see) I will

*chuckle*
Current New Favorite Person™: Mallory Archer
She knows why.
I have that effect on people sometimes.
BTW, as much as I like that you're avoiding me, you should probably get back in here and fight me. I need more posts to get my favor point.
Hey Az, I'm going to help you out with your vote total by asking you another question: On a scale of 1 to 10 where 1 is "Only a hunch" and 10 is "I couldn't be more sure of anything" how sure are you that Callaway is scum?
vote Callaway
Come back and play,
Callaway?
I just rhyme'd your ass.
Somewhere between 1 and 10.
Now that, is fascinating.
Replacements with role PMs that can be lynched...
Vote Callaway - to top it off, your response to Azrael was
Feel free to completely disregard the rest of the posts in the thread.
No seriously, we'll just wait. Go chill out and have some toast or something. Maybe put some jam on it. Whatever.
Thanks. That was really beneficial sir

With every post, you sound more and more like me as scum in my first game.
I did the same thing when Jodoyodo pointed at me saying that my behavior was indicative of noob scum. I was like "I can't defend against this...it's ridiculous...etc, etc, etc."
Keep it up!
