I'm amused that [Shalako], of all people, are talking about terrible reasoning. "Hey, PF's RVS daykill must be serious, therefore I should shoot him to prove that I have a daykill!"
spirit talking player, for got who, confirmed that Raf confirmed me as town
Right Zind confirmed this. Also Zind coaching him as to who to kill going into night telling me to go after one of the masons making me look bad. This is good. The Godfather confirmes Infinis then directs him to the night kill as he is lynched himself but directs it to me to put Infinis in the clear. This tough choice is starting to become easier Nai. Focus on our interaction throughout the game in your reread Nai and you'll see.
Again I do not have my computer, out for repairs. I will try and check everyday from the library now that I'm back from vaca.
Heres my role.
I am Light Yagami from Death Note. I want a perfect society by killing the criminals. I'm the true essence of the vigilante. I am judge and jury. I investigate and I kill the scum. I am frowned apon as I take things into my own hands. I win when the scum have been eliminated.
I'm amused that [Shalako], of all people, are talking about terrible reasoning. "Hey, PF's RVS daykill must be serious, therefore I should shoot him to prove that I have a daykill!"
I can't. That is what will cost us the game. Good play by mafia in the way Zind set it up but I've never from what I can remember in my limited play seen a mafia copycat kill. Time to place your vote Nai. I'll be back on tomorrow afternoon if there is anything else.

With a final and decisive nod, Nai agrees to lynch Archmage Eternal. Going wild, the lynchee pulls out a small black book and tries to quickly write Nai's name in it. "Not so fast," says Infinis, grabbing the Death Note out of Archmage Eternal's hands. Together they have a "lynch the serial killer" party and enjoy as the only two remaining manga-dwellers. For of course Archmage Eternal was...
Light Yagami, Devious Serial Killer
Game over! The Town wins, and the Mafia and Serial Killer lose.
Commentary:
I've got to say I was pretty positive the Town was screwed (I was betting on a Mafia win actually) at the beginning of Day 4. Shadow Knight's ability was a bit of a pisser. I enjoyed the game, it was close (well, until that fateful blast) and had some really fun moments (incidentally, that same fateful blast was one of them). I thought Charm_Master3125 and ~Tilde~ were a bit obvious Day 1, but for the most part the mafia played well (Shadow Knight and zindabad felt very pro the whole way through). Nai's analysis was awesome but I think all those pages might have really contributed to people not wanting to read them. And Archmage Eternal, I think, played better and better as the game went on. Day 1 I just remember wishing RafaelK and Nai would stop fighting... I think I started skimming their posts halfway through the argument and it still hurt.
My Bad!:
Yep, I messed up. I admit it. Charm_Master3125 and ~Tilde~ switched roles at the end of Day 1, because I misread my role sheet. Oops.
Finally, since a "game over" post wouldn't be complete without them, my picks for Mafia/Town MVP (Archmage Eternal, you're SK MVP :)):
Mafia MVP: Clearly zindabad. He was completely undetectable, didn't lurk, and just played like Town.
Town MVP: Trickier, I think it has to go to Nai for excellent analysis, even if I doubt anybody else read it.
Thanks everybody for playing, I'll see you all later.
What can I say? I'm a loudmouth. Congratulations town!
Infinis: Yes, I still had my doubts. See, you were confirmed by RafK, but that really doesn't mean anything, since his reveal on death role was simply a vanilla. He could have gotten false confirming information (its happened before). Just like my partner could have been Mafia.
Going into this day, I wanted to do a double check. I was pretty sure on AE, but I wanted to get a last few posts in before making my vote.
Mixed bag- right that the day 1 lynch was bad, wrong about CM, right about Tilde... more or less right about Nai, I don't think I thought he was actually scum, and right gut feeling on AE. And I'm pretty confident that the day 1 exercise was the right move on the whole- the discussion certainly turned out to be pretty handy for putting people in the spotlight.
My occasional reading made it feel to me like the town was generally in control most of the way. Not sure why the scum let Nai live so long, but I wasn't reading that closely. I agree Nai did a very good job, at least once he quit being suspicious of me for looney reasons
Confirmed townie who's unlikely to do stupid random stuff = worst endgame nightmare. Scum had to deal with two masons + Infinis (who was effectively confirmed, even if Nai didn't 100% trust that), and maybe the mafia and SK both thought the other one would deal with it all. I dunno.
By the time I had a firm grasp on who the scum were I was a hair away from being vigged and KoD was at L-1. I figured I do my best to try and point out what became obvious to me, since I felt KoD was going to be lynched anyways and the town was waiting for was a replacement to catch up on the reading.
Sorry if my paranoia was part of doubting Infinis in the end.
I seriously hate that my unknown ability was to blow myself up. On scum, I could see it killing the 2 people who most recently voted me, or whoever posted before and after me, or something like that, but ugh. Otherwise a good game. I agree with zindabad for mafia MVP. He was a good leader and provided some good strategy for us.
I thought we had things tied up as we went into D4, even if I had overplayed my hand a little bit with the vig/cop recommendations at the end of D3. Of course, Ace was killed by Tilde's "kill whoever investigates me" ability. In the end, we simply fell victim to the fact that there were too many confirmed townies. Tilde proposed killing kpaca on N3 because he (correctly) supposed that he was the dormant vig and so killing him would show AE up as the obvious SK that he was, but even that wasn't enough to convince people to pick SK over Mafia. I thought my claim was good enough to hold off suspicion for at least one day, and it would have been, in my opinion, if I had just claimed neutral from the beginning instead of "revealing" that later in D4. Unfortunately, I just didn't think of claiming neutral until then.
Of course, after...whatever happened with Shad...there was absolutely no chance for us and it was just a matter of personal pride to try to force AE's lynch over mine.
Totally agree with Nai as town MVP. He singlehandedly won the game for the town on D4, in my opinion, and simply did not fall for any of the nonsense and smokescreens I was spewing both pre-explosion and post.
I did feel our scumteam was severely up against it, however. We had a self-destructive member, a seemingly vanilla mafia, a fake godfather (why did my ability not protect me from AE's investigation?)...not exactly inspiring considering we were opposite mod-confirmed masons, two cops, a townie who could confirm others, etc. All we really had going for us was Tilde's ability, which we did get to fire, but which can only do so much. We played well and got the obvious mislynches, but simply by the numbers, we were going to get PoE'd out of the game relatively soon after the easy targets went down and that is ultimately what happened.
You are Akira, the boy with incredible power from Akira. You aren't really an evil person, but the mafia tell you what to do and you do what they ask.
You are part of the mafia. The other mafia are Charm_Master3125 (Hisoka), ~Tilde~ (Piccolo), and zindabad (Vicious), who is your leader.
As with any other mafia group, you may converse via PMs at night, and each night one of you can send in the choice for who you want to kill (or No Kill). If multiple people send in different choices for the kill, the leader's choice will be taken, or the latest choice if the leader did not send in a choice.
You are currently in containment. At any time (day or night), you may choose to release the absolute power of your abilities by posting a bolded "Release Power" in the thread (you can do this even if it is Night), however you do not know what that will cause when so much energy is released at once.
You win once the Mafia makes up over half of the living players.
Not gonna lie there was a point that I thought we had this in the bag until my explosion. I too want to know what on Earth HC was thinking with that role.
My only complaint was that flavorwise, it didn't make sense for me to die. I'd have been ok if the people who posted before and after my release power died, or if it was vote based, but for flavor alone I should have survived my own blast. The kid nuked Japan and survived it, after all.
He wasn't making it up, unless he somehow stone cold guessed that I, of all people, had the Red Eye drug in my room. I did manage to discredit him on that particular point, but it still irks me that my role failed to protect me from it.
MODNOTE: If he releases his abilities, Akira and two random remaining players die.
I was expecting that the mafia would guess this to be a last-chance ability, use it when they were severely behind, and probably kill 2 town. And Shadow Knight, while I haven't seen Akira for like 6 years, I believe Akira does die. Wikipedia says that "He subsequently lost control of this power and was killed in the ensuing blast", which I assumed would warn off the player.
zindabad, you weren't a fake godfather, all information abilities would turn up town on you (and Archmage Eternal's did as well) but Light Yagami, because of his incredible intellect, would get a hint of something if he targeted you. So his investigation turned up "town, but it's weird that he has a vial of Red Eye on him".
That ability is really bad, honestly. If the mafia is winning, it is most likely just going to erase their margin(just like it did here). If it was going to kill someone at random, it should not have been able to hit another scum. Or he should have known what it did..so that he could not use it.
I mean, there is just no way that someone that knows what that does EVER uses it in the circumstance they were in.
It's just a bad ability, sorry. It should have just been 'sacrifice yourself to kill target person'.

And AE chose to conceal the fact that he got a town result on me. Of course he did. Well, that makes me feel a little better.
i wouldn't go that far. Even with my relative townieness, I would have been the next viable lynch after zindabad. There were too many confirmed townies this game. If anything, *that* is what won the town the game.

How did he come up with that? That hurt alot when I saw that. Just gasp.:o

I did not get a town read on you. You didn't appear to be there. I just didn't reveal that the rest of the things I came across were as innocent as the first though, leaving me puzzled. That thorn in my side thing. Damn EP too for jumping the gun on his hammer. I was ready to fire on Zind when he did that so playing the townie role I fired at him instead.
I'm curious HC, what would happen if I put in a kill on a mafia member that put in a kill on me that same night?
On a side note I was in Boarders awhile back looking at the manga and saw a live version of Death Note on DVD. Might have to see if I can rent it somewhere. Anyone see that at all?
I'm surprised I was still alive when I logged on. I was sure the two of them would come right in and vote me without a thought. Thing is I was waiting for over a week to die so I could mention things about this game in another but I was never killed off by lynch or NK.

It's mediocre, it doesn't even follow the storyline! Eh. I might recommend it, but not if you're a hardcore deathnote fan.

Me too. As I said in thread, I was as confirmed as you can get without a living sane cop and still we lingered on for a week. I put my neck out Day 1 and it paid off.
I'm amused that [Shalako], of all people, are talking about terrible reasoning. "Hey, PF's RVS daykill must be serious, therefore I should shoot him to prove that I have a daykill!"
I'm quite interested in what RafK's information was.
RafaelK had:
Quote from RafaelK"s Role PM »
You are Android #18 from Dragon Ball Z, once evil but eventually turned to help the side of good. After a bit of looking around, you know that all of Dr. Gero's androids that are out of the manga are Town.
And Infinis was:
Quote from Infinis" Role PM »
You are Android #17 from Dragon Ball Z, one of the "Bad-androids-turned-good". You know Android 18 got out of the manga and is in the game, and you know that Android 18 has a piece of information in her human brain that you just can't remember. But you can't remember who she's siding with in this conflict...
I thought it was a cute pair of roles.
@AE: If you targeted a mafia member and they targeted you, you would both die... That's pretty standard, right?
I've been under the radar since I was pretty much confirmed town after night 1
12-11? I'm losing track

The analysis has been done on me and A_E. If you win this AE bravo.
12-11? I'm losing track
Now, before I cast my vote, AE, I have one question for you:
How do you explain that my mason partner was killed by YOUR killing modus operandi?
My helpdesk should you need me.

Vote: Archmage Eternal

I'm still laughing at two scum dying in the explosion. Tee-hee. Can't wait to see the details there.
