Thanks for the entertaining read AI. Also thought you guys might want to know that Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog is on netflix instant watch right now if you didn't already know that.
I probably would have enjoyed Seppel's crazy antics if I'd started this game with a bit more experience. As it is, he threw my head for a loop when he false-claimed my scum-buddies' character and I never really regained understanding. That, again, is all my bad, but I'm better now, I think.
Any constructive criticism anyone has will be much appreciated.
There is a certain value in acting completely loony, because townies will react to it naturally, but scum trying to act like townies may not know what a "natural" reaction is supposed to be.
That said, had the chips fallen differently, Seppel could have easily been lynched on Day 1, so it's not without its risks.
lol, I have no idea. Every time I kept looking for scum, Seppel kept jumping out at me, I wanted him killed so badly and kept trying to get him lynched (I think). Only after Arim flipped town and MH tried to get Seppel lynched did I finally accept Seppel as town.
Speaking of which Seppel (and DV and Bilbro), why did you want me killed/lynched without any real reasons? (at least I never saw any good reasons)
Yes I said I saw that already, I want to know if he has any flavor though. The point of this is to compare the fact that everyone else has flavor to Killidar saying he has none. To do this I need everyone to confirm whether they do or do not have flavor, regardless of it making sense for them to be vanilla (i.e. it makes sense that I'm vanilla and I still have flavor).
My pick from that list is Seppel.
This post felt like you were hunting for reasons to mislynch, which, tacking it on to your desire to have me killed by our SK, felt very anti-town.
From my perspective, trying to get me killed was very, very anti-town.
Only 1 question to everyone that played (except cyan for obvious reasons), Why on earth did you not lynch/kill hell even ignore on site seppel.
His posts were so idiotic from the very start and he seemed like blatent scum.
I found myself strongly willing someone to daykill him or at very least cyan's lynch request to be fufilled.
How on earth you guys put up with him right the way to the end amazed me.
No offense to you personally seppel, but in a game based on behavioural analysis the 1st person to go out the window is the guy who acts nuttier than the joker.
I play mafia a little differently than everyone else. My priorities when playing a mafia game are:
1) Have fun
2) Survive
3) Win
To have fun, I made the musical posts.
To survive, I had to defeat Cyan.
To win, I had to reread the game.
See, the problem is that I usually come off so anti-town at first that the mafia never want to kill me. Then it becomes painfully obvious that I'm town, then I reread and (usually) win.
Of my town appearances:
Star Trek EU - Vigged by town (win) Battle Royale - Killed by mafia (lose) Dictionary - Suicided (win) Tachronic - Vigged by town (lose) Inheritance - Killed by mafia (lose) Led Zeppelin - Survived to endgame (win)
Coffeehouse - Vigged by town (lose)
Joss Whedon - Survived to endgame (win)
...the town kills me more often than the mafia does.
However, the trends show that my survival greatly increases the chances of the town winning.
Seppel, you forgot Normalville where you were the bodyguard who didn't counter scum Chubbz who false-claimed doc, reason being you were flabbergasted at the possibility of two docs in a basic.
It was more a "we're already bent over the table, might as well take it all the way" thing. It is nice to see it work out though.
This game does really have the potential to be over stupidly quick if the scum manage to recruit bilbro. Seriously, in combo w/ Infinis that's a full 7 scum votes. That's really risky. Around here scum almost inevitably get lynched day 1, but still....
Anyway, good times, one of the craziest day 1's I've had in quite a while. Thanks to AI for very good job modding.
MTGS stats (won/played)
As scum - 3/5
As town - 5/7
As neutral - none

If our one role that could have targeted him did so before one of the six town roles that could target at night him did so. The odds said Bilbro was going to be town or neutral.

Roleblock takes precedence over most roles, so if it went to night the scum had the advantage.
The role itself is fairly swingy, which I think is something to avoid.
If that role ends up in the hands of a high caliber player, there are good odds that it becomes a scum role. If someone like Jobie were to get that role, it would probably be neutral forever.
If a bad/inexperienced player gets it, and gets forced to claim Day 1, it just becomes a crapshoot of 'who can target it sooner'. I will say that giving the town day abilities in a game with a role like that means that it's almost never going to end up being a scum role.

Bingo. Hence why I pushed so hard for his lynch.
We had no ability outside of Kraj's to actually turn him and Kraj's ability was much better used to block threats to us. Outside of us being lucky N0 Bilbro's chance of being in the scum camp was almost nil.

Yeah, this is one area that suffered a little bit because of the crunch I was under to get the game designed quickly.
I basically wrote the whole thing in a single night, and the Silence ability being used during the day to target Spike didn't even cross my mind in the process.
I was just thinking, "The daykill would just kill him anyway, not like there's a day-roleblock"
Wrote Spike well after I wrote Mal, and had forgotten the extra clause for the silence (which I thought would be the immediate throwaway of the 5 one-shots).
Of course, it all got further complicated a bit because I put "at night" in the Spike role

Lies! -I'm Buffy Summers, town tracker. I used my ability on you and saw that you didn't use any abilities before the game started. My flavor is I was sucked through a mysterious space-time portal and I'm here to kill all the vampires, and my tracking ability is a combination of my Slayer and Native American skills.

For me it was POE. The number of people who I thought could be scum kept on getting smaller, and you never really got confirmed as town.
I followed every single post of this game because I had always been intrigued by mafia and wanted to see how a whole game played out and the title and theme caught my attention.
I thought Cyan did an amazing job to sow seeds of doubt not only about himself but about pretty much everyone else.
Agreed with townie mvp axel as tbh he was fantastic and the strongest and most obvious town leader.

It's because seppel really isn't as crazy as everyone thinks he is. He has a method behind everything he, does, we just have no ☺☺☺☺ing clue what it is ever.
