So... I wasn't told I was the cop (and was therefore unable to adjust my play accordingly), and the town wasn't told I was the cop :eyebrow:(since I was no-revealed for whatever reason), but the scum :confused:were notified I was cop, giving them a golden false claim???

On the bright side, your random cop target was Cyan
And I prove once again how terrible I am as town. ESPECIALLY as vanilla town.
Great game from Syrenz, had no real feeling on you. Cyan...well...ugh. Well played with the claim. Just wish everyone else would have realized what I did a bit sooner.

Lies! -I'm Buffy Summers, town tracker. I used my ability on you and saw that you didn't use any abilities before the game started. My flavor is I was sucked through a mysterious space-time portal and I'm here to kill all the vampires, and my tracking ability is a combination of my Slayer and Native American skills.
Night 5
StormBlind—Protect Zionite
Zionite—Protect MandersHex
MandersHex—Protect Cyan
Cyan—Kill Wrath_of_DoG
Night 6
Cyan—Kill StormBlind
Zionite—Protect Cyan
MandersHex—Protect Cyan
(I cut it short before StormBlind got his choice in. The only way town had a chance was if MandersHex protected StormBlind, which would cost Cyan a life, as previously stated. When She subitted Cyan as her target, the game was over, no matter what StormBlind did.)
Just out of curiosity..in MH's role description, it doesn't say anywhere that she kills the person that kills her. It pretty clearly states the opposite.
So..why would that have cost me a life?
@TFF: To be fair, SP didn't say 'TFF is the cop'. He said that you were holding a notebook that said 'Primo = Dangerous'. From that, I extrapolated that you were some kind of gunsmith(I wondered why it said Primo and not Cyan, but still), and figured that there wasn't going to be another investigative role on top of Malcolm also being(or so I thought) a Tracker.
I wish I could have actually played this game out with you guys, but unfortunately real life problems came up day 1 and well you all saw what happened. I did keep up with the thread when I could and thought when you guys let syrenz claim go through like that that something was terribly wrong in the game. I thought that his claim meant the town had a terrible amount of power roles...
Yeah. I was surprised that the town didn't raise more of a question when I claimed to have investigated MH N1. MH kind of brought it up, but I mostly just blew it off and she accepted it.
And Syrenz false-claim really didn't make any sense, but virtually no one even looked twice at it.
And Syrenz false-claim really didn't make any sense, but virtually no one even looked twice at it.
I explained the rationale behind it in our scumchat.
I figured claiming vanilla would get me killed eventually by PoE despite my behavior this game so I looked up possible falseclaims for my character. When looking at this wiki page under powers and abilities (http://anitablake.wikia.com/wiki/Richard_Zeeman) and also here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Zeeman ) I saw that my character has the ability to share his blood with people to boost their abilities. Which is perfect flavor for motivator.
Combine that with the fact that Malcolm used his ability twice N1 and I thought my claim was solid.
Flavor makes sense as motivator, motivator ability has been proved, if I was scum with that ability I wouldn't use it on a player who is not scum with unknown abilites. Claim=town...
I figured people would be doing what I usually do in games which is check out the character to see if flavor matches up, but alas no one seems to have done that. At the very least I figured WoD and anyone else who knew the flavor of AB would confirm that it makes sense but sadly no .
The only problem I was expecting to have with it was when I said I thought I could only target werewolves. I figured someone would ask "Why didn't you just ask the mod to clarify?" but no one actually did fortunately.
That's actually pretty well thought out on your part. It's still pretty suspect and seems like the town should have at least looked at it a little, but you put an impressive amount of research into it. Nicely done, teammate.

That was good reasoning and play on your part. -I'm just upset because I've been reading along this whole time, happy that as a vanilla I drew a N1 kill that could have hit one of our many protection and info roles, only to suddenly find out in the postgame "BTW, you were a cop and your death not only denied the town inspections, but also enabled the scum to coast by."
It's just a very unpleasant revelation that your win was greatly aided by the fact that you knew a lot more about my role than I ever did.
Ah. Yeah, that's understandable. I figured that you had the same information as me, and were just cursing me all along because I false-claimed your role.
Nice game guys, and certainly less broken than the Newb game
Is it just me, or is the cult really overpowered? They only needed a majority to win, could recruit 2 people a night, and people didn't know when they died?
I guess to talking alleviates that somewhat, but to me it looks like the cult were insanely powerful.
The Cult was ridiculously powerful..being able to recruit 2x/night makes a Cult win almost inevitable, except for in fluke cases like this one where the CL just inexplicably draws attention to himself for no reason and gets killed.
I hate when I feel like I have to play the game on my own...but at least now I know what a different scummy cyan looks like. GG.
Not on your own. Not sure you noticed, but i was the ONLY Person *again* pushing against cyan.
At the end, the problem was that AI Was SO apathetic, manders was basically just unreliable and figured she knew better then the rest of the town, And the remainder just didnt really have almost any import into the game.
I still think my argument against cyan wasnt as terrible as it seemed.
Good job cyan / syrenz. I had the feeling at the end game that it was cyan / manders due to the day 6 explosion of paranoia manders had.

[19:59] greymon90210: Hey StormBlind how tall are you? "I'm six money *****, don't forget it"
"The Critics always said that we'd only have a black president when pigs flu"...
1) This isn't Magic. Every game shouldn't be based off Magic's rules.
2) It requires three power roles all claim, trust each other, and stick to the circle. Not broken at all. (And seeing how Manders broke the circle, definitely not broken)
I enjoyed the game otherwise.
Might've been helpful to let people know this instead of making us think otherwise.
You knew Manders was playing her role under an incorrect understanding of the game's rules, yet you didn't let her know?
Now, Seppel, I'm hurt. I've already told you once that I'm not stupid.
If I'm not understanding something, I will ask for clarification. Promise.
I knew that the "invincibility circle" would only last once and assumed that Zionite and StormBlind knew it as well.
And, Cyan, look at the night actions again. I went with the plan 3 times.
And I believe that is everything. I was shooting for a very flavorful game, and I think I gave too much flavor at times, and too little flavor other times.
Again...Any suggestions are welcomed, no matter what they are. I appreciate everybody putting up with the delays in sign-ups, some delays during the game, and everything else that may have come up. I promise that this is the last game I host that has Anita Blake as a theme.
Thank you all for playing very much. Its was appreciated.
You provided too much information to the scum and not enough to the town. I'm not saying it's your fault we played horribly, but you did. If we had known that TFF was a gunsmith, Cyan never would have gotten away with his false claim.
Despite that, it was a good game and I enjoyed playing it, until the end.
So... I wasn't told I was the cop (and was therefore unable to adjust my play accordingly), and the town wasn't told I was the cop :eyebrow:(since I was no-revealed for whatever reason), but the scum :confused:were notified I was cop, giving them a golden false claim???

This is probably more obvious than I gave it credit for. And it makes me facepalm.
I did state this, at least once, but I was more focused on you for your insta-vote on AI. But, yeah, claimed cop day 6 (or 5 or 4, etc.) should not be alive.
In hindsight, really? Scum never even tried to shoot the cop? Ugh, so bad.
Once the game's over, there's no reason not to edit your post instead of double-posting. Merged.
Man, the town really buckled. I was just posting crazy stuff for fun once I revealed myself as cult and it didn't go well. I still found Malcolm scummy, but I had AI and Cyan as scum later on (after I died).
Hey SP when you were planning the game did you decide on the name malcolm for the CL ahead of time or was it something you thought would be fun when the poster malcolm decided to join? Because there were probably other possibilities for a cult leader in the story that would have been a bit more anti-anita all together.
Night 1
MandersHex—Protect Cyan
Zionite—Protect Cyan Seppel—Track Cantripmancer
Wrath_of_DoG—Kill Zajnet
Cyan—Kill TheFooFish
bolmedias—No Action
Malcolm—Recruit shibui and MandersHex
StromBlind—Protect shibui
Seppel, why didn't you release this info? I realize it wouldn't have come anywhere close to confirming me as town, but the fact that I did nothing seems somewhat telling.
Crap...is the Mod supposed to determine the MVP/LVPs, or do the players usually decide it?
I think it's more accurate coming from the mod, who watched the whole game from a knowledgeable position...but I can't really speak to that, as I've never modded. Cyan definitely (again) beat the town up one side and down the other, so he holds mafia MVP in my mind. I'm tempted to look at StormBlind for town MVP, but I don't really remember his early game, just that we should have listened to him at the end.
So... I wasn't told I was the cop (and was therefore unable to adjust my play accordingly), and the town wasn't told I was the cop :eyebrow:(since I was no-revealed for whatever reason), but the scum :confused:were notified I was cop, giving them a golden false claim???

Yeah, sorry we didn't make the work worth your while, Syrenz. It's been hammered into me so many times that flavorgaming is bad (and I'm not that up on the Anitaverse) that I sorta glossed over all the flavor in this game.

I was really shocked that you were pushing Zionite so hard on the vote thing; that was the action, I think, that really made me start questioning whether you were town...yes, it's bad to recklessly vote in a lylo situation, but it's not necessarily scummy.
And don't be too hard on yourself, MH; Cyan used his silver tongue to the best of his ability, and Syrenz never came up on my scumdar. I figured he was just another vanilla townie, like myself.
Speaking of which, SP, what was the deal with the signup teaser indicating "fewer vanillas than normal"? Is 10/22 really worth that kind of mention?

no worries . I was a little dissapointed that my claim only got through because "it was something I wouldn't do as scum" instead of the fact that it was a decent claim, but everything worked out in the end anyways. For us at least
It was fun making fake cases on everyone this game. Although I still totally cannot see AI defending Bol like that if he was scum. I guess I do have a different viewpoint though, actually knowing he was town .
It was pretty funny when we didn't win the game right when we expected (after we lynched AI). I wanted to vig him from the start after a lynch looked like it would never happen.
This is from our mason talk going into night 4 I think it was.
First off, what the hell is Cyan doing? Thats bull☺☺☺☺. He could have put a stop to that wagon first thing but he conveniently claims Flew town when its to late. I'd love to vig him, wanted to from the start.
Then I died so that was that.
This was a fun game. Wasn't going to join up but seeing how you needed one more, I'm glad I did.
I wanted to vig him from the start after a lynch looked like it would never happen.
This is from our mason talk going into night 4 I think it was.
Not going to argue that Cyan should have been vigged (as he was scum), but that wouldn't have been the best reason for doing so. It was Cyan's plan from the start of the day to claim Flew as his vig target (he did leave hints about Flew being town beforehand as well) and honestly, if he was actually town cop, it makes more sense to claim his result on the person after he sees who's on the wagon on that person in order to better find scum.
I've always been opposed to LVP. It doesn't accomplish anything, except for making someone feel bad. I've never found that it makes someone's play get any better.
The Flew thing played out weird. Like Syrenz just said, I was always planning on claiming him as my investigation target, I just wanted to play it off as waiting to see who went after him(which is what the town cop should/would do there)..he just got modkilled before I had a chance.
I with I could have been on S_P's side for this one I liked him.
Kinda sad how hard I was bussed day 1. At default being L-4 to lynch me kind of sucked (all 3 scumbuddies of mine bussed me hard), but I guess that's what won the scum the game.

Your interactions with everyone on D1 made it pretty easy for me to make cases displaying how others were scum. And it made me and Cyan look more like town for bussing you. So yeah, it did put us in a nice position.

I think the reason you were initally hard to get lynched was because of the fact that everyone was just dismissing every normal scumtell on you because you were Joboman and always look like scum lol.

I think LVP should only be nominated by the person who wants to claim LVP.
There have been games where I'm like "haha I was definitely the LVP."
Getting LVP doesn't bother me at all because this is just a game.

More vanillas than normal. And you can count lots of the roles as half-vanilla.
Which made me want to lynch Cyan right away as soon as he came out that he was a full-blown cop. Yeah right.

More vanillas than normal. And you can count lots of the roles as half-vanilla.
I figured I would have to claim vanilla as well, but then every person that claimed was some weird power role so I was like, one shot motivator yay! I think there were more vanillas than normal, it's just that everyone who claimed early happened to be a power role.

There were a bunch of scumtells on you that I found. They're actually special tells for you, Jobotells. I could post them if you want, although I no longer know how accurate they would be. I think I may have posted them in my first case against you in this game actually (my 3rd post I believe).

I'lll do MVP/LVP once I get home from school and go over my notes. I dunno if I'll do LVP, though. I never liked that.

I'm not a fan of LVP (probably because I'm consitently a candidate), but Town MVP and Scum MVP would be nice.
I wanted to vig him from the start after a lynch looked like it would never happen.
This is from our mason talk going into night 4 I think it was.
Then I died so that was that.
This was a fun game. Wasn't going to join up but seeing how you needed one more, I'm glad I did.
They hate us cause they ain't us.

The Flew thing played out weird. Like Syrenz just said, I was always planning on claiming him as my investigation target, I just wanted to play it off as waiting to see who went after him(which is what the town cop should/would do there)..he just got modkilled before I had a chance.

Agree with no LVP's.

What surprised me was how townie I looked to people for most of Day 1. Usually its the opposite

I think the reason you were initally hard to get lynched was because of the fact that everyone was just dismissing every normal scumtell on you because you were Joboman and always look like scum lol.

Sadly, you're probably right.
I breadcrumbed it. In like one post. But then again with everything I say it wasn't very noticeable. Remember how I was all like "Cantrip sux" going into N1 and then I came out D2 saying "Cantrip rulz"?
More vanillas than normal. And you can count lots of the roles as half-vanilla.
Which made me want to lynch Cyan right away as soon as he came out that he was a full-blown cop. Yeah right.
I think LVP should only be nominated by the person who wants to claim LVP.
There have been games where I'm like "haha I was definitely the LVP."
Getting LVP doesn't bother me at all because this is just a game.
You exhibited all obvious scumtells. I wrote it off as "Oh it's Joboman."
Now I know you aren't immune to scumtells.
I actually still am though, since when you think about it If I act the same way as scum as I do town, isn't it not actually a tell?
If I didn't do scumtells as scum, what else would I act like?

lol that's quite subtle
I figured I would have to claim vanilla as well, but then every person that claimed was some weird power role so I was like, one shot motivator yay! I think there were more vanillas than normal, it's just that everyone who claimed early happened to be a power role.
There were a bunch of scumtells on you that I found. They're actually special tells for you, Jobotells. I could post them if you want, although I no longer know how accurate they would be. I think I may have posted them in my first case against you in this game actually (my 3rd post I believe).
btw did you actually get that idea to make the fake townie bah post from Canada mafia like I said?
