Sweet, another group of people afraid to push the buttons ala inheritance, and I'm assuming we are on the track of non-team work ala every other recent town failure.

2. What happens to a player whose sanity is reduced to 0? (I'm assuming that sanity starts at the given number and goes down. Please correct me if I'm wrong.)
We'll put to an informal vote:
Should someone try and lose their sanity so that others may see the results?
I vote not. In the first post, rianalnn warns "Don't lose your mind!". That is enough for me!

That's pretty easy to change, and kpaca is smart. I wouldn't lean too heavily on something like that.
You play your way, I'll play my way.
Also, note that I did not suggest a mass (role) claim. I suggested a soft claim. Big difference. I think a gender soft claim would be a good idea.
EWP: A D1 name claim with this setup would be bad. A mass claim could be either awesome or awful, so I'd stay away from that one too.
Sweet, another group of people afraid to push the buttons ala inheritance, and I'm assuming we are on the track of non-team work ala every other recent town failure.
When the button is labeled "Become insane!" shying away from it seems correct. I'm all for teamwork that doesn't involve deliberately screwing ourselves over.
I'm here, have received my role and am ready to lurk. Or maybe I'll post. Who knows?
I think I'll spam post. But not now. When people say things, you'll see more Kracky stuff.

I propose we make a scummy person insane instead of a volunteer. e.g. Muffin Man.
I don't like the idea of volunteering someone for insanity. I think that it will happen sooner or later.
What if insanity causes someone to yell out their PR? Or turns people into Millers? While I agree that knowing what it does could be beneficial, I feel like "insanity" is much more likely very bad.
Unvote.

I would get behind a claim of what your insanity number is.

Well I had a couple of thoughts. Someone could be insane or close to insane currently, the scum quite possibly have at least one almost insane person in the group, and it lets us explore the insanity mechanic without having driving someone insane on purpose.
I opened one last year, got two crap worldwake packs and 8x scathe zombies, which I promptly hid around my sister's apartment for her roommates to find. But, yeah, it was a piece of crap.
You, sir, have just won the internet. Congratulations.
Well because he's voting for apparently no reason. I assume he's just curious as to why he thinks we should lynch AI.
As for the insanity thing, I don't think it's a lack of team-work, I think it's more of "Wow, that sounds pretty bad. I don't want to figure out what THAT does."
I'm going to FoS Kpaca. I'm not really leaning that way, but for now, that's all I've got.
Question: Why would you have to state your role in order for you to clarify what you meant?
Because I'm unintentionally digging a deeper hole in most people's eyes. I guess I'm just awful at this game because everyone seems to think I'm scum, but I'm not.
I would get behind a claim of what your insanity number is.
Also, @kpaca: How could we drive someone insane?
This posts bugs me. a claim of insanity number would do the town no good. not only would it peg everyone's sanity number for everyone to see, if any of the scum have any way to reduce someone's sanity number, they'd go for the least sane town first causing <whatever happens when someone goes insane>

Why do you say this? I only want to know your reasoning that led to your desire to lynch AI, which is generally posted along with your vote.
He's posting no information while trying to dress it up as actual information. The line that especially stands out is where he says I want to vote for that guy because that's an OMGUS but it's really a no tell. It's a completely neutral position that gives him plenty of leeway and does absolutely nothing else.

I totally agree with you but the problem is I think AI would just make those sort of no information posts as town, so he'd probably have to make some more before i'd vote for him.

Well then be prepared to possibly get stuck pummeling AI's arguments by yourself while no wagon forms around you. I mean, I've no doubt you can do that, but I'd hate for you to be wasting your time when it could be used elsewhere.

Is this a joke that gets played on the new people?
"Do you not see how this looks? The instructions for the game explicitly warn you not to do this!"

You are actively telling me not to pursue someone I think is scum because nothing will come of it and it's a waste of time and surely I have better things to do.
This must be a mafia first for me, no one has ever told not to go after scum because it's a waste of my time.

Yup.
I used to shoot down bad cases against me as a n00b but nowadays I just ignore them because most of the time everyone else also sees that they're bad. (Meta helps in this regard.)
Not sure why nacho_wizard is grilling Monkey_Playing_MTG when the latter seems legitimately confused by the lack of explanation accompanying burboy's vote. Seems opportunistic considering Monkey's inexperience.
kpaca: if you want to put yourself at risk, I'll have respect for you, but still not agree with your course of action.
However, we're not entirely sure how to decrease our sanity atm, so until more information becomes availible, it's a moot point.
Agreed I suppose. I'd hate to bring out roles regarding sanity that should be kept secret. Considering I'm the only one for this, I will concede we should not coordinate a mass insanity shot, but I do think if we don't know what this is about by like day 3, we explore this option.
None of my posts have been spam and a vote is hardly overzealous.
Is AI not supposed to be lynched or something? Why does voting for him bring out the group of burly guys warning me to back off?
You've had quite a few one or two word posts that haven't offered any analysis or been helpful to the town.
This isn't really about AI, for me at least. I've never played with him, and frankly he hasn't posted anything that interests me at all yet. Do a PBPA of him instead of making two word posts and I'll listen to what you have to say.
Right now, you're the most interesting poster to me. It's not worth keeping a vote on you, but it was worth voting you to see how you respond.
Right now you seem a little defensive. Maybe you're the type of town that gets defensive easily. Or maybe not. Time will tell.

I'll be sad if people don't start calling The Chain Veil "Fleetwood Mac."
That's weird, I don't see exactly what makes my case bad, or why responding to me would be such a trial.
Your case is bad because you assume me making posts that don't display a strong conviction by attacking or defending other players is a scum tell. Hardly.
Also you seem to have a problem with the way I stated that I'm leaning town on kpaca. Players who have not read the "I lurk as scum" statement made by kpaca in its three or four instances, with context, and have not witnessed kpaca's scum play are unlikely to understand why I hold significance to it.
Responding to you based simply on the first two posts you made voting me would only serve to make me look like I'm overly concerned with my appearance. Now that you've called me out on it, I may as well say, "Hello. This is why your case is bad. Good day, sir."
