I assume that attempting to look as though you are contributing worthwile analysis while actually doing nothing of the sort is a scum tell, because it's often something scum do.
Correct. However, in this instance you are taking the end result (me concluding that Fenris's bad attack is a null tell) and assuming it comes from a scum mindset when in actuality what happened is that I was trying to summarize my views on the matter and end with a vote, but then I realized that he's a n00b and so probably has no idea what OMGUS even means, thus I removed my vote but noted his bad post. Should I have deleted the entire line? Probably. But I think it should be reassuring to know that I'm paying attention.
Exact same reasoning as mentioned before; it's also an out of place piece to begin with. I'm leaning town on this person a day in? Because he hasn't done something he says he does as scum right out of the gate?
Leaning town is like 6 or 7 on a 10-point scale. I'm not about to follow kpaca off a cliff. Talk about an overreaction.
I wouldn't ask you to respond based on the first two posts, although I would be curious as to why you didn't want an explanation yourself, but for someone who apparently avoided pressing me after my first two posts so as to not look overly concerned with appearances, by saying that you look pretty concerned with appearances. Which is a lousy tell to begin with, it's just humorous.
Actually it's not a bad tell given appropriate context and meta. Especially in a game with so many newer players, it's best not to give people any reasons to blindly wagon oneself. Also, I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to say here, but I didn't want an explanation for your vote because your motivations seemed town even if your logic was flawed.
@AI - Gender softclaim. Is there a reason you want to do this? I've yet to play with a softclaim. What's the advantage?
The purpose of a soft-claim is to lock scum into a more limited set of claims at little to no risk to the town. Also, we gain information on players simply by discussing the soft-claim.
Also, first person to call dibs gets to be targeted with a secret ability tonight. If you don't call dibs in your next post, you are ineligible for calling dibs.
I'm pretty sure anyone who doesn't want to explore the insanity mechanic because they are worried people run out of sanity and change alignments has been sniffing glue.

I think it's a perfectly reasonable assumption, though if possible I want to have a scummy player lose his sanity as per Seppel's suggestion. It's nice to have guinea pigs, however unwilling. (FTR, I do not sniff glue. Seems poor.)
Since people do not seem at all interested in a gender soft-claim I'm going to stop mentioning it for now. I might try again Day Two.
There isn't anything wrong with disagreeing, it's the idea that we should be worried that peoples alignments might change. Like what the ☺☺☺☺ is that based on? Nothing, that's what. Even if you do think that happens, you should be willing to find out, because that is something worth knowing.

I also must say that I do not like the rate at which I see you state things in posts as if they are givens, while being wrong at the same time or not backing up the given statement.

This is a stock message across the three games I'm currently in to say that I'm going straight to my sister's house to house-sit, where they don't yet have any internet (they're on their honeymoon), and I work tomorrow morning. I will be able to post once again tomorrow evening into late night. Thanks, and sorry for the recent lack of activity.

Lies! -I'm Buffy Summers, town tracker. I used my ability on you and saw that you didn't use any abilities before the game started. My flavor is I was sucked through a mysterious space-time portal and I'm here to kill all the vampires, and my tracking ability is a combination of my Slayer and Native American skills.

It's a semi-educated guess. There's no concrete evidence but it's not based on nothing, either. And I would like to know what happens, which is why I recommend that we experiment on a scummy player.
I also must say that I do not like the rate at which I see you state things in posts as if they are givens, while being wrong at the same time or not backing up the given statement.
What can I say, I learn from the best.
Seriously though, which posts in particular do you find problematic?

Town Seppel looks for little things to pick apart, and as such has to read every bit of every post.
Scum Seppel does not read every post thoroughly. While the above isn't the type of blatant mistake I'd ever make as scum, or someone like Dagger would make as scum, it is something Seppel might gloss over. He's a bit hasty in his scum fervor, I know, I've accomplished awesome wins while on his scum team.
Also, Seppel plays in such a way long term analysis is impossible. You have to look for slips that show his intent. Above is one.

Eat me. I'm NOT reading every post thoroughly. When AsianInvasion said he agreed about something I said, I stopped to look at who it was, and proceeded to be confused when I saw that it was AsianInvasion. I have NEVER seen AI act this way. So yeah. I don't know what to think of AI and I'm not at all interested in reading what he has to say.

Yeah, you're caught. You not knowing it was AI doesn't even cover your bases. He was like the third or fourth person to say that. You are so detached from this thread it's somewhat embarrassing. And just so you know, while yelling "eat me" and using caps might work to stop plenty of people here, I eat it up like candy.

You're usual scum intent. Cause chaos while trying to follow a plan which usually involves getting players to buddy up to you while also playing off of other players. It was pretty fun to watch you try to improvise in ghost town. The point is it's pretty obviously not your town play if you aren't reading.

Yeah, I thought I was missing something, so I read the rules. I don't have much invested in the game. I've already broken the rules. I haven't even read all of my mile-and-a-half role PM.
So I was getting a really bad gut feeling on nacho wizard, so I went over his posts for as much of a pbpa as I could.

#1: Randomness is random.
#2: Second and third lines don't make sense.
#3: He didn't seem concerned with votes.
he placed a random vote and then immediately unvoted. like he wanted to show how fun and random he was being but then unvoted because he was scared of having his vote somewhere. its really cautious
This really bugs me. It does feel like he's attacking someone for trying to ask information. We like asking questions of people in mafia, it roots out liars.
yeah thats why i asked him a question. you cant question a question, but questions by themselves are fine? <__<
This feels bad to me. A lot of attitude for the smallest of flack.
eat my shorts
I can't even follow his train of logic. It's convoluted.
no its complex. i will use smaller words next time
Once again, really screwed up logic. It isn't very obvious why you asked him and it did look like you were grilling him.
if i explain why i asked then that effects his response. when he responds, ill happily explain what i was thinking there. itd be nice if people dropped it rather than answering for him
I don't think there's concrete evidence of scum, although the attitude may be a hint. I know I hate his playstyle.
i know that i play in an abrasive style. you dont have to like it, but dont let it color your judgement of me or my arguments or you are the one playing poorly. im not sure what to make of you failing to vote me here it seems like you want to so much. i dont know if youre town in control of himself or scum who wants to vote me for 'bad' play but isnt because you know im town
Also as a general question for you Bate are you posting with your descriptions of a top hat, a pipe, and such for post flavor or is this somewhat representative of who you are?
"Well, a little of both I should imagine. Though in fact this is a bowler hat."

A window in the drawing room bursts open as a cold wind gusts in. The gramophone needle strays across a record, destroying it, the amplified sound of the stylus tearing across the grooves puts your teeth on edge. Deeper in the house, doors can be heard drawing shut with loud bangs; from somewhere within comes a shattering sound, delicate porcelain against hardwood.
One of you gently pushes the window shut, latching it as an uneasy silence momentarily grips the room. The record is replaced with another.

Scummy.
Not so much "inconvenient" as "unsubstantiated."
I think it would be considerably easier to read you if you did not have this damned PR.

I do have an intent but that's not it.
He can't refute it. He also doesn't refute being scum, but just refutes his intent. I'm going to bed I think. My work here is done.
Get back here.
I'm past refuting my alignment. That's a horrible argument. I wanted to say "☺☺☺☺ you, I'm town" but thought "hey, I'm above that."
I'd be willing to say that at least two of those statements are incorrect.
What awkward phrasing. Reading the rules? How less subtle can you get about the fact that you know how sanity works?
This seems genuine.
Since I have now been asked this multiple times no, I'm not a gimmick.

Yeah it looks to be that. We'll see how this gets resolved, but whether he gets modkilled or not will determine the rest of the day.
Town. I just wanted to be confrontational. You were right that I was barely reading the thread though.
In the event I get replaced and not modkilled, here's the relevant info:
* I didn't read my role PM fully.
* I can't reveal what rule(s) I broke.
* I don't know how sanity works.
I'm sorry.
