What has Cyan done worth pressuring him for? And why is your vote on Cyan for no reason other then to pressure him ok, but peoples votes for you are a "lol wagon"?
Well, cyan is cyan for one thing. You might not know this, but the two players on this forum who warp a game just by being in them are Azrael and Cyan.
And it's a lol wagon because it's genuinely funny. Just looking at four votes in a row that are either a. completely wrong or b. without justification is lol.
If a couple more people had jumped on Cyan, that would probably be a lol wagon too.
I don't know if nom is town or scum. But I'd like to point out this type of behavior is his standard modus operandi.
Court Mafia: Day 1, hatch plan to KILL EVERYONE ELSE IN A SINGLE NIGHT, when the plan only allows him to hit 11 random players, ATTEMPTS TO FIRE ANYHOW (Roleblocked).
In other words....Nom is an impulsive player who doesn't think about planning long-term or listening to others. I wouldn't be surprised if he was town. At all.
I actually didn't notice your vote. I mostly questioned his because he gave 0 justification.

Defending AE was a side effect. I wanted atlseal to know that AE was not the only one thinking how he thought.
Don't defend yourself defending me. Keep up the good work.
Asteal is getting very angry.
Did I say I would do that? No, I didn't, and no, I wouldn't. There's nothing in the rules against trying to find more than one scum/day.
I didn't say you would did I? I simply asked if you would because I didn't know. Why bring up the rules? Trying to find other scum is fine, I just don't like how you intended to do it. To me you'd jump all over a couple of other players if they voted and that would create separation throughout the town and spread out the votes. If you believe her to be scum supporting her lynch and pushing the wagon would have been the move to make and then go back and pick apart the wagon.
Seppel are you avoiding scumhunting with these randomized posts? Drawing attention to gold and items and away from the scummy players?
If it was real at all, why did you just unvote because we were 'out of the random stage'?
Because the real bit of it seemed so small to me. Right now it just sorta pinged, but it was a small ping, now if he does anything else, it will be looked into more heavily.
atlseal (as well as everyone in the game now) knows that I am extremely limited in what I can and cannot do. If something is asked of me that will require a huge amount of time (like quoting someone's post from day(s) ago), I will decline to do it, but make a compromise, as I did here. I do not intend to use this disadvantage to my advantage, but I'l be damned if others will use it to point to me being scum. It's a BS position to take.
Wtf are you talking about, man? You voted Az because he said he was scum with atlseal. There is no possible way you meant that as a joke.
This is enough from you, man. Vote:ExLight
did you even read my edit?? i misread your question the first time
Well, cyan is cyan for one thing. You might not know this, but the two players on this forum who warp a game just by being in them are Azrael and Cyan.
They "warp" a game with their experience level, but moreso they have playstyles that many people find it difficult to cope with.
Do either of those things seem like a good reason to vote? It really looks like you are trying to find a way to justify your vote after the fact.
And it's a lol wagon because it's genuinely funny. Just looking at four votes in a row that are either a. completely wrong or b. without justification is lol.
How is that not the same thing that you did?
If your justification was to "see how he responds to pressure", then how well did that work out for you?
If a couple more people had jumped on Cyan, that would probably be a lol wagon too.
Why would you want to be on a "lol wagon"?
Perhaps you unvoted and I cannot find it, but if not, is there any reason you are still voting for him?
You can take it back. Particularly as you seem to have backpedaled off it already.
I'm pretty sure there was stuff of value in my posts, although my posting style has changed a little recently.
No, I won't take it back because it was on my mind at the time. But you are posting more content and scumhunting, so I'm content with you.
...Seriously, how is that scummy?
I didn't say it was, just an anomaly I noticed.

Ambush Krotiq makes me laugh so much. I keep rereading the card and it keeps not having Flash. In what sense is this an ambush again? I just have visions of this huge Krotiq poorly concealed in some bushes, feeling slightly sad that his carefully planned ambushes never seem to work.
I propose someone put up the following contracts (repeat for every player):
Task: Use an investigation-type ability on Cyan
Time limit: No time limit
Conditions: You cannot have accepted any other contract this game day.
Reward: 1 gold
Task: Use an investigation-type ability on Cyan
Time limit: No time limit
Conditions: You cannot have accepted any other contract this game day.
Reward: 2 gold
Claim the 1 gold reward if the player is town. Claim the 2 gold reward if the player is scum.
oops... I thought there were 20 in the first post, so I was in fact referring to 23 and 24.
I have little idea about the first 22. As it's every player, I'd assume it was one person giving out all of them, probably in order to get the game moving.
Man. He's really throwing his vote around fast. With his whole one serious vote. And that one time declaring a person town. He's been so quick to be doing that.
@Polo Mogo: I thought you could accept a contract after satisfying the requirements for it. I'll work on more game breaking ideas if you'd like.
Gold plz
You realize that the item's sold already, right?
Why are you so hellbent on getting gold?
The more you ask for it, the less likely you are to get it, I think.
Also Guardman used an ordered list with only one item.
Wtf are you talking about? Did I miss something?
So now we can assume the scum have a vig shot.
I agree that it's a likely scenario.
How about everyone claim how Mich gold tjey have now.
Meh, kind of a weak soft-claim idea, imo.
I have like 30000
Now I want axelrod and Guardman to claim gold
Whoa, wait.
You realize you're not leading the town, right? I mean, I know you want to, but I'm not content following you atm.
Let's get everyone's thoughts on a gold soft claim.
I kinda see Seppel asking for gold so much as a (very minor) point in his favour. If he was scum, he wouldn't really need to ask for gold so much, as it is likely that they will have sorted out the money somehow in order to buy the item (as it seems they have.)
Seppel - did you really mean 30,000? How will claiming gold help?
My guess would be it would be a neutral player, who's hoping to get another item later. Obviously it would be stupid for scum or town to put it up, so that only leaves neutrals.
You don't have anything to say on the other topics currently in the game?
We do not know that anyone decided to sell that item. Syrenz could be holding a few items back to sell throughout the game. I see no good reason for anyone in the game (including neutrals) to have sold it this early.
I would never voluntarily entrust Seppel with a 1-shot kill, even if I thought he was town.
He craaaaazy. And liable to shoot anyone just to see what happens. (see Joss Whedon where he tried to vig the uncounter-claimed Doc.)

Hmm. It's worth a shot.
@MOD: Are there some items you will be selling covertly?
Even if he doesn't answer that, r_0's speculation isn't implausable.
And, he's right. It makes no sense for anyone of any alignment to sell that item right out of the starting gate.
He craaaaazy. And liable to shoot anyone just to see what happens. (see Joss Whedon where he tried to vig the uncounter-claimed Doc.)
Wait, did he actually try to vig arim, or did he just want to? I thought he just wanted to, but I admittedly didn't pay much attention to town issues in that game.
Also, a gold-claim seems like a fantastic idea. Pinning down how much gold everyone started with seems likely to be really relevant later when some gold has changed hands.
The latest contracts(an investigation for everyone) seems extremely likely to be a scum play. If anyone gets investigated, their contract gets filled. Thus, the scum know there is a Cop in the game. If no one gets investigated, either A)there is no Cop(giving some scum a great false-claim) or B)the scum gain definitive proof of the existence of said Cop. Either way, it's great for the scum.
As such, if you are a townie and created all of those contracts..then you suck.
Also, a gold-claim seems like a fantastic idea. Pinning down how much gold everyone started with seems likely to be really relevant later when some gold has changed hands.
A gold claim is a bad idea for the following reason:
If a player is lynched their items and gold go into a discard pile.
If a player is killed their killer gets all their items and gold.
One-shot items that have been used up and destroyed items will not go into the discard pile.
Professions have no inherent abilities associated with them.
At this point in time we don't know everything gold does and/or if it means anything outside of currency. And the last thing we want to do day one is to give anti-town people more info about gold and who has it.
Also their is nothing stopping anybody from lying about how much gold they have. Meaning it is worthless. Plus their isn't a way to track when gold exchanges hands.
Basically their is little to no upside for a gold claim and very much to lose from doing one.
Your reaction smacks of someone that just doesn't want the town to share information.
Maybe you can explain what you qualify as 'very much to lose' in this scenario.
Lastly, if the scum are basing their kills purely off of 'getting the most gold', then they are probably making extremely poor choices, which is just what they want. If anything, giving them the temptation of making the right choice vs. the greedy one seems fantastic for the town.
Gar, if you thought Seppel was scummy why did you wait until he voted you to put your vote on him, garrr?
On a side note, today I clubbed a goat and dragged it back to my ogre cave. It was delicious.

I wanted to see his reasoning for asking for gold before I made my final decision.
Plus then he goes and wants everybody to claim how much gold they have and then he goes and claims 30,000 gold himself. All this led me to believe he is scum.

First answer these questions:
1. How will we know if a person is lying about how much gold they have?
2. How can we track when gold exchanges hands?
3. What is the purpose of gold in this game? Is it only currency? Or could there be more to it?
After you answer them I'll explain why I state the town could have much to lose.
A)Eventually, I suspect that there will be some level of co-ordination between town players via contracts etc. If we call on someone to effectively give their gold to someone else(via some method of contract) and they don't have the gold..then they were lying.
B)Ultimately it won't be that hard to track. It's also not out of the realm of possibility that a townie has the ability to see how much gold a person has.
C)Who knows what the full purpose is? But obviously there is SOME point to it.
Ultimately, it's just not that different from any other soft claim, and I rarely see those hurt the town anymore.

Not redirection, simply pointing out a few flaws in your thought process.
1. We are not allowed to discuss which contracts we will take, have taken, or have put up. So I doubt their will be any coordination from that front as if we do we will all face the wrath of the Detroit Hello Kitties, err... Syrenz. Then the other idea is to have people randomly give other people gold to confirm said amount of gold, which given we don't know the full extent of what gold is, is either a waste of our time to just confirm whether or not someone is lying about the amount of gold they have or we end up giving a lot of gold to someone who shouldn't have gold.
2. Considering the town can't coordinate on contracts. We then get into a big WIFOM situation when doing exchanges, and in the end whether or not a person was lying about how much gold they have isn't even close to enough for a person to get lynched over.
3. See this is the other problem. Your proposed soft claim putts a lot of faith and trust into the players and the fact that gold is just a currency in this game and not something more (which we don't know, but I think is likely since gold wouldn't mean a whole lot otherwise) means that at best it is a neutral soft claim, which doesn't do anything to help the town or hurt the scum. Putting faith and trust into others is good and necessary when games have an overarching mechanic that requires it to be effective, such as symbiote. In that case one would need to put their trust into others to give the town more power. Here gold is obviously not a trust mechanic, but a mechanic where ones wants to get as much as one can of it. Therefore there would be little to no benefit in trusting others with ones gold and given how it is a mechanic meant to be horded there is a more than fair chance that there are those who will rejoice on being forced to check to see if that person has the right amount of gold.
4. This is the type of claim I could see going wrong fast because of the problem with number 1. For example:
1. Player A claims he has 200 gold.
2. He sees in the contract thread their is a contract where for 200 gold someone will investigate Player B.
3. Player A is suspicious of Player B so pays for the contract.
4. Player A then comes under suspicion and we want to check out if he still has his 200 gold, which he doesn't.
5. He can't tell anyone about the contract he took because of the rules, so he is caught lying and is hanged.
For all the effort put into this soft claim three things will happen:
1. We will end up lynching a townie like what happened in my scenario.
2. Nobody will use contracts since the gold there can't be traced, meaning that the defining mechanic of this game will go unused which will probably put the town at some sort of disadvantage, since nine times out of ten game defining mechanics are set up this way.
3. We will soon see that the gold soft claim can't really be tracked or confirmed and so it is abandoned. Yet the scum will know how much gold the townies have.
This is why I believe the gold soft claim is a bad idea and is bad for the town.
Actually the reason I used least looking town person was because I was responding to the post where you say that you're protown. It was meant to show that in my eyes you are the least likely person to be town and therefore helping you would not be protown. I admit though I could've worded it better.
If you are talking about the part where I say I wouldn't trust you with a vig shot, that's not fearmongering, that's just the way I feel and I am going to hold myself to those feelings. It is the same feeling that I hold to whenever tilde has a plan or says anything that even could hint at a gambit. Also I wouldn't trust him with a vig shot either. There are just some people who I feel shouldn't have a vig shot regardless of alignment.
Also I am much more interested to hear your views on my response against the gold softclaim since you are one of the two people pushing it.
Guardman is scum and lrd might be scum. Guardman is being too friendly and apologetic in his responses to me. He doesn't believe that I'm scum. Simple as that.
Also, a gold-claim seems like a fantastic idea. Pinning down how much gold everyone started with seems likely to be really relevant later when some gold has changed hands.
And people can't lie? It would probably take awhile to find out, if we can.
Lastly, if the scum are basing their kills purely off of 'getting the most gold', then they are probably making extremely poor choices, which is just what they want. If anything, giving them the temptation of making the right choice vs. the greedy one seems fantastic for the town.
This is all hearsay. Who usually has the most money? Upper class. Pointing toward important roles. I would argue that they most likely wouldn't be making poor choices.
I'm agreeing with Guardman and I don't believe him to be scum.
a gold soft claim isnt a bad idea, but it is too easy to lie and not get caught with later on, so if we do a soft claim, lets nail down something better

If you're town and I'm mafia, you've already lost. You just don't know it yet.
I don't think the gold softclaim is a good idea. Even if we have some sort of "gold cop," the contracts and the fact that people can give gold makes it hard to keep track of how much gold everyone should have (not to mention there might be other abilities that deal with gold).
Lastly, if the scum are basing their kills purely off of 'getting the most gold', then they are probably making extremely poor choices, which is just what they want. If anything, giving them the temptation of making the right choice vs. the greedy one seems fantastic for the town.
They won't do it purely based off who has the most gold, but it'll sure as hell factor into it. As long as gold has some value, and the scum are reasonably intelligent, it can only help them.
GAR HAR HAR! That’s a fairly quick analysis. Also declaring someone as scum / town this early on isn’t useful.
I disagree, declaring who's town or scum can be useful at any point in the game.
Vote Nom Amor - He's been quick to declare people town/scum and quick to toss his vote around.
Pressure voting Cyan like that wasn't terribly scummy. Cyan's hardly a weak target, and I can at least understand the urge to put pressure on him early to get a read on him.
~
I think that Exlight is a good place to look, mostly for the discrepancy on his vote for Az. I'm leaning scum on Atseal and Laquatus. Unsure about Guardman and Seppel. And Manders is probably town.
When you unvoted, why did you say that it was a random vote, (since you later said that you did have suspicion for Az)?
Also, are you still suspcious of Az?
i have very very very little suspicion of AZ right now , its so minor, it doesn't even warrant a fos.Should some more things come up, that little blip i voted for shall be investigated
Only reason i voted for it then, was i thought we were still in the random stage.
I actually didn't notice your vote. I mostly questioned his because he gave 0 justification.

What's unexplained is why you haven't given me your welfare gold.

Wait, what?
This seems a little out there even for you.
1. Why would giving you gold be considered pro-town?
Let's start from there. Cause I have to say you're playing a lot more Seppelish than usual.
1. Because I'm protown.
2. An ordered list usually has more than one item on it. unvote, vote Guardman
I'm surprised I'm still waiting on a few folks. Also surprised somebody put up a one-shot kill for trade. Why?
No gold for you until you walk me through this as I asked:
...tell me how this is/was meant to work, please.
Yup.
Buddy-up indicator flashed for second. Is it broken?
Okay, gotcha...how would it get the game moving?
"You may all now mock my play". Still makes me chuckle.
Agreed.
Why? What's your read on Seppel?
Why? (Not why you, but why you over Seppel).
I am highly interested in your analysis. Also, what up with game pace in your eyes?
*nods*
More later, I think.
Gold plz
1. So you say. We don't know that.
2. Probably pointless to ask, but any reasons for your vote?

TACKY has been prodded.
Annorax has requested replacement, looking for one now.

Wow.
Let us count the madness.
1. "least looking TOWN person."
2. Accusing me of fishing.
3. Omgus vote.
4. Fearmongering.
Actually the reason I used least looking town person was because I was responding to the post where you say that you're protown. It was meant to show that in my eyes you are the least likely person to be town and therefore helping you would not be protown. I admit though I could've worded it better.
If that wasn't fishing then one of us must not know what fishing is (I am pretty sure its you).
I was going to vote for you depending on your answer to the question I asked.
Plus I have shown that I have legitimate reasons to vote for you. Which is the important thing.
Unless they can track said item.
And people can't lie? It would probably take awhile to find out, if we can.
This is all hearsay. Who usually has the most money? Upper class. Pointing toward important roles. I would argue that they most likely wouldn't be making poor choices.
I'm agreeing with Guardman and I don't believe him to be scum.
They hate us cause they ain't us.

2) I don't like the idea of a gold soft claim.
3) Guardman, have you played with Seppel before? I could have sworn you had.
Neither of you have any responses to my last posts to you?
Weak. Especially since I've been waiting for responses.
As for the gold soft claim, I'm undecided atm. I'm going to study the cases put forth by Cyan and Guardman and go from there.
Oh, and I am undecided on Seppel and Guardman. They're both really hard for me to read.
Pretty sure Cyan's town.
And, yay! Welcome WoD!
I was so scared we'd get someone annoying.

We even have Mafia!!
What are you expecting me to respond to? I'm so sorry that my being without internet yesterday and this morning and posting from my phone earlier today would be such an inconvenience for you.
They won't do it purely based off who has the most gold, but it'll sure as hell factor into it. As long as gold has some value, and the scum are reasonably intelligent, it can only help them.
~
I disagree, declaring who's town or scum can be useful at any point in the game.
Pressure voting Cyan like that wasn't terribly scummy. Cyan's hardly a weak target, and I can at least understand the urge to put pressure on him early to get a read on him.

I think that Exlight is a good place to look, mostly for the discrepancy on his vote for Az. I'm leaning scum on Atseal and Laquatus. Unsure about Guardman and Seppel. And Manders is probably town.
Vote Exlight
You've got my response. I apologize for it not being the response you like.
