This is all you can comment on from the previous 98 posts?
That's the most interesting thing from the previous 98 posts. The second most interesting thing has already been commented on (and doesn't even need to be addressed at this point, anyway). The rest of it looks like a townfight for the most part. There's possible opportunism in a couple of spots, but nothing so heinous that I need to hit it with a stick, particularly when I notice shinier objects.
I found DC's vote to be a Joke, due to the in character nature of it.
I found Syrenz's vote to be following in that joke.
I find that Cyan's reaction to this instance of a random 2nd vote by Syrenz and not the first interesting.
Syrenz's reaction is unexpected however. Not unvoting with the applied pressure towards his vote is odd, and makes me think it wasn't as random as the language in the post made it seem to be. Because of this i think Syrenz comes out looking the worst from the exchange.
I disagree that Syrenz' reaction in this game sounds like Doha. In Doha, he is completely dismissive. In this game, he is not at all dismissive. He might express a bit of disbelief, which is understandable, but he is much more assertive about it in a game where he is known town.
I find this example to strengthen my vote against him, not weaken it.
It depends on if people question you on it. If another player asks why you're voting me (or were voting me if I'm already dead), then you can say that it was initially random but I later became scummy in your eyes so the vote was serious after all.
That's how I would play off a "non-random random vote" as scum; you might do things differently.
There's no way I'm going to attempt to lynch you without a reason to back it up (you're welcome to check my scum games - I'm a pretty careful player). The only way my vote would be on you (outside of the random stage) is if I could back up why my vote is on you. I'm not going to vote you and then hope you later become scummy and I can justify my vote being on you, I'll vote you when you're actually scummy. There's no reason for me to just place my vote on you now in the hopes that something develops later, when I can just as easily vote you later when you do something that I can actually justify a vote for. This makes no sense.
Why random vote as scum when you can pretend to random vote but secretly support a wagon that's spearheaded by a confirmed townie? That's my interpretation of the events.
If you're saying "secretly support a wagon" meaning by quietly keeping my vote there on you, see above. If you're not saying that, I don't know what you're saying.
I think it means you either still supported the wagon or were just being lazy.
The sudden unvote means you are either backing off under scrutiny or note that your continued random vote was inappropriate.
I just didn't get around to removing it. I'm like that with random votes.
I feel like I'm going in circles here. The initial vote was a bit odd, but nothing to react to. The justification of said vote as random, with a sarcastic emote to boot, when desCoures's vote was not presented as random was a red flag and earned the vote.
I already explained why I felt dC's vote wasn't serious. And the emote was because I could not understand for the life of me why Cyan was voting me for making multiple random votes in the RVS (which as I said was my initial impression here).
@Syrenz: Yes, I think that leaving your vote sitting on him(if a wagon came along) is exactly what you planned on doing. And if no wagon came along, then you would simply move your vote whenever you felt like, no harm done. I've played on your scumteam before, and I know that you are savvy as scum. And this is what I would expect you to do. If you were random voting as town there, I would have expected you to vote/unvote in the same post.
Have you read anything besides those two posts that Zindabad linked?
Due to the joking/contentless fluff while attempting to seem relevant posting of Syrenz (who is savvy, but not as scum yet) to scum. Arcadic is also obviously scum. I'll be able to tell you if my third scum suspect Az is probably by day three.
Zindabad and Pale Mage are town. Jury is out on Cyan.

I love when people lie transparently. I love it especially when they didn't have much of anything to gain.
I do love lying for no good reason.
So Cyan calls out a small point on Syrenz because what else are you going to do early game, and maybe he'll frazzle Syrenz into over-reacting. Syrenz reacts big, but maybe this is because of meta. I'm leaning on the side of Syrenz being town. I don't see him actually trying any of the stuff Cyan's accused him of. It just seems like too much of a rookie mistake for someone who just won rookie of the year.
In parallel (and causing the above events), we've got AI claiming miller and dC voting him. Personally, I have no problem with people who want millers to die. Not a good use of our lynches, but maybe of vigs. In this case, I'd rather let him sit for at least a day than vig. Just on a gut.
Some people seem to think dC is joking in his vote, and maybe he is. I didn't read it that way, but whatever. I can see how you could. Syrenz's additional vote also didn't bother me.
Cyan's just being Cyan, although that just means all this aint a point against him. I can't read the guy until late game when I'll peg him as SK but he'll get me lynched anyway.
Oh, and heads up, Cyan has never read me wrong. When it gets to mid game and he pegs me as town, you can bet that the only way it won't be true is if we're buddies. And even then he'll bus me.
Why am I town? Why is Zindabad town?
Zindabad wouldn't have voted Syrenz there as scum. It's too shoddy a wagon. Zindabad as town would get on a shoddy wagon though due to his strong convictions. And you just are.
[quote]Why? Be as specific as you can.
I mean if I told you that any exercises involving Ged's claim would be useless for me.

Have you read anything besides those two posts that Zindabad linked?
I see a lot of self-meta coming from you and very little else. ''I always respond to accusations against me"; "I'm a very cautious player as scum" etc etc. Can you provide some examples? It worries me that the majority of your defense is being undertaken by other players - Skander brought up Doha, again without actually giving concrete evidence, and Azrael has also been in your corner - and very little of it is being provided by you.
You ask Cyan if he's read anything besides the two posts that I actually did the legwork for and found. What kind of response is that? You should be finding other posts that illustrate your point and presenting them to your interlocutors.
Cyan's latest point is a good one. Now that I look at them more closely, there is a difference in the nature of the two posts from Doha that I linked (which I will now quote in their entirety below) and the responses that you have provided so far in this game.
How on earth can you possibly be so confident that I'm scum?
Very sure that it's an accurate meta-read.
I've provided you with a link to my recent town games, you clearly have not looked at them. If you were town, there's no reason for you not to double check a meta read and from the fact that you have not even bothered to do so, I feel confident that you are scum just trying to get an easy lynch.
I think you're scum because, you misrepped me and because your case on me is ridiculous. There is no possible way that your case can be conceived as strong enough for you to be convinced that daykilling me and yourself as well, would be the correct option. No way at all.
It's completely ridiculous, you say that the past games I've been in as scum, I was irrelevant (which is a complete fabrication in the case of Heroes, but fine). You don't bother to compare my meta at all, which is indicative of a scum mindset. You force a ridiculous case against me.
You expect me to make up/magically pull a case from a hat and if I don't do that I'm scum. WTF.
Okay, I thought you meant the former (mostly because you didn't say anything when I did the very same thing in my second post in the game). Now what's my ulterior motive in doing that? What am I gaining by doing this as scum?
I can't think of anything off hand right now, but I'll skim through my games later/tomorrow.
The same question I just asked Cyan can be answered by you as well. I merely followed our glorious leader (with an obviously joke vote), in his vote that I interpreted as not likely to be serious (considering the reasons that would be behind it are not reasons I would see him pursuing a lynch over). I do not get what this is all about.
Note the differences in language and demeanor. Doha was indignant town expressing disbelief at ostensibly bogus accusations from AI. This game's responses have been more along the lines of a guilty kid with his hand in the cookie jar: "I don't get it, Mom, what have I done? It's 2 o'clock, cookies now won't even ruin my appetite."
I'm not 100% certain that Syrenz is scum, but I am now 100% certain that this is a line of inquiry worth pursuing. Vote: Syrenz.
So Cyan calls out a small point on Syrenz because what else are you going to do early game, and maybe he'll frazzle Syrenz into over-reacting. Syrenz reacts big, but maybe this is because of meta. I just illustrated how Syrenz has not "reacted big" at all, so I'm not sure where you're getting that from. I'm also more than a little worried at your wishy-washy language, the way you assured us that "you have no problem with people who want millers to die", and that little "oh heads up" aside.
This whole post has a feeling of "well I'm Ged and I'm just going to do my thing, hang back, make a lot of references to past games and generally stay out of the melee." Not happening in this game, I'm telling you now. Same goes for PM - I know his town game isn't a lot of nibbling at the edges and asking people simple "why?" questions.
I don't know if either of you are scum or not yet, but I do know I'm not liking what I'm seeing.
Same goes for PM - I know his town game isn't a lot of nibbling at the edges and asking people simple "why?" questions.
You wound me, sir. I often ask simple "why" questions of people who aren't being clear. And if you're at including the questions to Vezok in the simple category you aren't reading closely enough.
I don't know if either of you are scum or not yet, but I do know I'm not liking what I'm seeing.
Oh, you'll figure me out soon enough.
@kpain - Behavior, dude. Gotta have behavior to get where you wanna go.
I love adding folks to my scumlist left and right. I love that it's that much more interesting than a dry run.
@Zindabad: I asked Cyan that because if you actually read more, there's a difference in the circumstances behind it. In Doha mafia I came under attack for plainsight lurking. At first I defended myself and attempted to explain why I wasn't (although tbh I actually kinda was). AI insisted I was. I insisted I wasn't. AI insisted I was scum. I insisted I wasn't. That's kind of how it went. I provided points explaining why I wasn't and I asked him to do a comparison between my town and scum games. AI didn't and discounted my responses. So I have AI shouting I'm scum and there's nothing else I can do except dismiss his case. Here, however, I can logically explain why the allegations against me don't make sense, while I'm not yet being totally ignored. In Doha, I couldn't do anything except protest, while here I can still go through the points against me. And in Doha, the accusations of plainsight lurking were understadable, while the accusations being presented against me here, are not. I acknowledged the fact that I was asking mostly small questions, but I insisted that there was relevance behind them. I was indignant at unreasonable expectations and being ignored there, whereas here I do not see the case.
And saying that most of my defense has been taken up by other players instead of myself is a complete fabrication.
Also, I already provided an example of me responding to accusations against me. Why are you asking me for it again? In terms of being a cautious player, it's not something I can show by providing specific posts it's more about things I didn't do in those games and my behaviors in them as a whole. And anyways, how exactly do you plan to determine I'm telling the truth unless you check my games for yourself (which are Heroes, Goo and Anita Blake)? If I provide you with some examples of me being cautious as scum, what exactly does that do for you if I provide it, considering there could be a lot I'm leaving out?
I'm actually sold for now, more by Skander's evidence (I went back and looked: here and here) than by some self-meta in a game I never read.
And then ask me for some self-meta?
I'm not liking how Zindabad barns Skander after it looks like people are vouching for me being town and agrees my posts are similar. And then after kpaca (and Arcadic) posts his support of the wagon, goes and agrees with Cyan that my posts are different (using the very same posts as before at that).
I just illustrated how Syrenz has not "reacted big" at all, so I'm not sure where you're getting that from.
I'd say it's decently sized. I mean, it was big enough to become current fore-runner of discussion. Maybe I'm just enlarging it because of that.
This whole post has a feeling of "well I'm Ged and I'm just going to do my thing, hang back, make a lot of references to past games and generally stay out of the melee." Not happening in this game, I'm telling you now.
Well, no, it is going to happen. Not the references to past games part - I don't know where you got that - but the rest of it is going to happen. It's just a matter of whether you're going to like it. I've got a playstyle that works for me, and I don't see much a reason to give that up. If you don't like that, then you can AezWolg me before I put my Cunning Plan (TM) into action and make like loran in HP by stealing a game I have no business winning.

Anyone who's questioning dC's alignment is dumb. No normal game has a mod confirmed townie with an alignment other than town.
I still don't like the arguments against Syrenz.
Agree with Kpaca about Arcadic.
This is the scummiest thing I've seen in the game so far (probably because I'm forgetting something):

Really? Cyan states some doubt against dC's towniness, and this is how AI and Ged react? It's like you have no faith in him as a player. I, for one, would like to believe that a town Cyan would consider dC mod-confirmed town.

Unvote; Vote zindabad -a little too much playing to the crowd there.
Would like to hear a response from him to Syrenz's explanation of the differences in situations.
And I wouldn't mind hearing that from Cyan and the others on this wagon as well, but only after zinda, please.

(This is a confusion smiley)
It's pretty obvious that, regardless of his alignment, he must have simply forgotten dC's status. -What possible scum motivations could there be behind this? Do you think he was trying to trick us into doubting the mod?
I think Cyan is better than trying something as obviously useless as this, but anyway-
What do you think of his explanation of forgetting, then?
I'm not talking about it happening with new players. These are veteran players I'm talking about; the love of laying seeds of doubt with regards to things that don't have any logical reason to have any.
@Cyan: Do you take any notes while playing mafia?

Pshah to your silly attempts of avoiding reciprocal pressure on yourself and of crashing forward with that line of questioning.

I asked Az the question both to see his response and something else I forgot.
In other news.
unvote
@AI : Why are you voting Az?
Thanks to DNC at Heroes of the plane studios for this awesome sig and SGT_Chubbz for the awesome avy.

Really? Cyan states some doubt against dC's towniness, and this is how AI and Ged react? It's like you have no faith in him as a player. I, for one, would like to believe that a town Cyan would consider dC mod-confirmed town.
Vote: Cyan
Unvote, Vote: Cyan
Thank you. Please unvote and try again.
You'd think that, but from past games with AI, that is a post AI legitimately thought was cute and warranted and wanted to be read by everyone else. Pretty much a null tell.
Seriously? Why do you have nothing to say to/re: kpaca for the same thing?
And, why is this enough information for you to vote Cyan for it?

How am I related to atlseal's vote for Cyan?
kpaca hasn't said anything about dC.
Because I think he's better than that. And in the past two games I've been in, I've noticed mafia trying to force doubt where there should be none. I'm very suspiciuos of that behavior now.
Obviously. -Explanation looks good here.
Uh huh. ok.
-So, what do you think of his explanation of forgetting then?
He thinks he'd best avoid answering, cause he doesn't know.
If he takes any sorts of notes at all, the explanation is bull. That's why I asked him.
If you don't believe me, read my two latest games. Basic 32 and Ogre. I first picked up on it in Ogre and should have listened to it in Basic 32. I'm not going to let it slip by again unnoticed.
...and would you forget that desCoures is mod-confirmed town?
You're not. See below.
Did he not? I could have sworn I saw him make a post stating dC was probably town, too. Maybe I'm confused.
Fair enough, but is this the ONLY reason you've voted for him?
