So basically we have 3 people acting like complete idiots so far.
I can see why Cyan is taking a sabbatical.

Man, what the hell is it between AE and zindabad? Do they always go for each other's throats?
But, seriously, zionite's idea makes no sense. It feels like he was just fishing for power by proposing something to nullify them so that he could watch reactions. I mean, obv, town power's not actually going to like that idea.
Yeah, Vote: Zionite
Way to be completely opportunistic.
Notice that Syrenz responded to Zionite's idea, but managed to not try and turn it into a reason to vote Zionite.
What do you think, that he came up with this idea as scum(obviously knowing that the scum just wouldn't go along), and just hoped that no townies would think of this?
Most likely, he had good intentions and just didn't think them through. Any townie would realize that. Bot you chose to vote zionite instead.
Vote MH
@CM:
Like 5 times I typed up an /out post for this game, but then deleted it because I've been waiting for this one for so long. Starting to look like I should have followed my gut there.
By mentioning how he plays in the random stage to defend his waiting for a wagon to develop, he is implying that that vote was random, which it didn't appear to be.
Actually, when I look back over Zionite's post, it makes no mention of or insinuation about the mafia nightkill. He only says that the lockdown will "vanillafy all roles" - vanilla scum can still kill (most of the time.) So that makes Shalako look worse for bringing the night kill up and trying to make it look as though Zionite were the one with the inside info.
unvote; vote Shalako
@MH: You can check my stats for our history. They haven't been updated in a while - I think he's thoroughly beating me by now.
allright so I guess I should follow manders call to serious business, now that it looks like the RVS is winding down.
1. I didnt actually claim at l-9 dur
2. I will claim at l-2 as as is usual(unless you guys have different ettiquite in large games)
3. Zionite's idea was bad. In fact it was so bad that I thought it was scum trying to get town to go along with it
4. Upon further reflection I can see zionite suggesting something like that as town, I have seen some similar plays from him in GHS.
5 OH HAI QUIETFISH

He said all roles.
Night Kill can get role blocked too.
That is what I assumed he meant by helping the town.
I need responses from him.
Cyan is as usual spot on with the mh/Zionite interaction, but I don't see it as necessarily a scummy move as much as a "not thinking derp" one.
Poggy on the other hand, is still not contributing much that we didn't already know, and has given us evidence of his waffling. Reminds me of my fidgety scum play - say a lot and hope no one reads too much about it.

Oh Noes.
The zone lockdown would only block the kill if it's magic-based, and we have no way to know if it is or not yet.
If I were a gambling man I would bet that it isn't, solely so a plan like zionite's doesn't lock out the game.

I'm not Syrenz.

I gave my mindset when I voted. Having that mindset, why wouldn't I vote?
I can't help my first reactions, Cyan.
Most likely, he had good intentions and just didn't think them through.
You're right. He could have just not thought it through. Hence the unvote. Or I could have been right and he could be scum. Time will tell.
Any townie would realize that. Bot you chose to vote zionite instead.
But that one instance of me doing something you don't like does not make me scum.
Vote MH
Oh, the irony. So juicy.
@zindabad: Nice insight. Someone to watch out for.
@ poggydude: That doesn't change the fact that you waited until there was a wagon before you laid your vote down. Address this.
The unvote that you just performed, and applied it to another target that can be read as completely opportunist, you mean?
Not really. Here's why.
1) Syrenz catch is good and poggydude is a good wagon.
2) I meant to do that unvote in my other post. It just took that long to make a new post because posting from a phone sucks. Very erratic.
3) The zionite vote wasn't opportunistic either for the reasons I gave when I made it.
Man, it's been awhile since I caught a scum based off of one post. Feels good.
Except that you haven't, but you'll see that soon enough.
I get the feeling your feelings about another game are clouding your judgement. Or you're opportunistic scum yourself.
A)If you legitimately 'forgot' to Unvote, your Unvote line wouldn't have included 'Vote Poggydude'.
B)Pretty sure you are fully aware of how awful a player that poggydude is. As town, you would at the very least let him explain himself. Also, it's great how you say 'poggydude is a good wagon' without ever having actually explained why anything he did is scummy.
C)Your vote on Zionite was the definition of opportunistic. Zionite hadn't even had the chance to explain himself yet and you were already voting him, even. The opportunism of said vote is also indicated by the fact that you are no longer voting him(despite having not been provided a reason by him to move your vote).

Obviously I forgot to do both. Forgive me for not specifying.
B)Pretty sure you are fully aware of how awful a player that poggydude is.
So? That doesn't get him a free pass.
As town, you would at the very least let him explain himself.
Right, Because you've never seen me do this before as town.
OH, WAIT, I DO IT ALL THE TIME! That's right.
Also, it's great how you say 'poggydude is a good wagon' without ever having actually explained why anything he did is scummy.
Are you blind? I explained why right there. Syrenz' find. Duh.
C)Your vote on Zionite was the definition of opportunistic. Zionite hadn't even had the chance to explain himself yet and you were already voting him, even. The opportunism of said vote is also indicated by the fact that you are no longer voting him(despite having not been provided a reason by him to move your vote).
Again, something you've seen me do as town. Seriously, Cyan. Remove the blinders.
Ad hom, and OMGUS to boot!
I haven't voted for you, so no OMGUS. But, yeah, your vote could be interpreted as opportunistic a ☺☺☺☺.
Now, if you excuse me, something non-game related has royally pissed me off, so I have take some time to cool down before I say something I regret in-game.
This is a little-known fact, but Archmage Eternal and zindabad are actually twins. They did not cry when they were born, as they were too busy trying to strangle the other with their umbilical cords. Not much has changed since then.
Well I in fact was trying to help him out with his situation and he went all "Oh your trying to show me up in front of mom?" and turned down his evil path right then and there.
So I definitely got the game out of the random stage quickly. I shall pat myself on the back.
It was an idea I had that I wanted other opinions on as an option. I figure if everyone is blocked, then every role is turned vanilla. I doubt the mafia kill would be blocked this way, but it takes out every unknown(besides the scum team) and allows us to basically ignore role complications.
Things I did not say:
The mafia kill will be blocked
The mafia kill is magic
I endorse my own idea as the correct play
Poggydude is being opportunistic, testing reactions before he hops on my wagon at the third vote. I think a townie who believes in his posts would have voted in the first post he indicated suspicion. Coming in later to vote after two previous votes and citing the same reasons doesn't fly with me as townie behavior.
I sorta agree with Zionite. It doesn't matter if the mafia kill is not blocked if every other role ability is, and I don't think I've ever found a town that thought otherwise.
The problem, as I mentioned before, is that it's an anonymous system. We will know if people use abilities (maybe), but we won't know who is not in the location we want them to be.

This would ultimatley nulify all our town roles. We are left in the dark and wait for the scum to kill one of us. Basically this is helping the scum, they don't have to worry about placing a RB if they have one and don't have to worry about being outed. Not good
but it takes out every unknown(besides the scum team) and allows us to basically ignore role complications.
uhmm yeah because most roles that are given to townies are detrimental to the town, at this point I see two options for you
1. whip out the shalako HAHAHA DISREGARD THAT I IS DRUNK defense
2. die scum
vote zionite

I sorta agree with Zionite. It doesn't matter if the mafia kill is not blocked if every other role ability is, and I don't think I've ever found a town that thought otherwise.
.
I don't think that I've ever seen a town say "i lurv having my doc and cop and tracker and vig nullified for the whole game" I swear you and zionite are on some sort of serious crack
Alright I want to know from all of you if zionite and emo pinata have suggested really dumb things as town before or have the capacity to do such things, if not I am pretty sure that we've found ourselves some scum
Then the town is free to spend the days hunting scum and the nights not worrying about what bizarre action did what.
The town will know how many groups (scum, SK, etc.) there are.
The potential that the scum kill is magic.
The town has used the mechanic to control the actions of the mafia.
There's some strong benefits to not having any night actions, especially in large games with potentially powerful roles (such as a +11 power that can't have anyone else in an area).
On that note, the anonymity of the mechanic means the scum will not stay in one location. So in the end you are right about the town being the ones whose abilities are blocked.
The major problem with Zionite's plan is the fact that most of the typical scum abilities just mess with the town's abilities. Then, if we did his plan of vanillifying the town, there would be no point; it would be like copying the scum abilities to everybody (typical scum abilities would be RB, Redirect, etc.). I highly doubt Zionite's scum, I think he just hasn't thought this through completely.
@Atlseal: Were the scum allowed to communicate before day 1?
In a game where your location is very important, you think it's remotely possible a tracker may be able to discern if a player is in a zone other than the one specified to be in?
I don't think that's too much of a stretch. It's a pseudo cop in that respect. But it's speculation, which is why I'm not endorsing this idea. I'm just saying its plausible and an option.
What a better plan might be is to plan out who we send where in order to not ☺☺☺☺ with abilities. If we make sure every location has 2 townies then it might be harder for the scum to use abilities in that area without hitting the upper limit.
What are people's thoughts about claiming what area you will be in at night?
@Atlseal: Were the scum allowed to communicate before day 1?
A voice rings out from the crowd, "How much time could they possibly have had to prepare? This meeting was called just yesterday."
The war-torn man at the front ponders for a moment while pacing up on the stage and responds, "They can't have had much time to prepare as this meeting was called on short notice for a reason." A brief pause, "However, we cannot discount the distinct possibility that they had a small amount of time with which to plan."

If you're town and I'm mafia, you've already lost. You just don't know it yet.
It would be plausible if someone could find out who was in what zone during a certain night. As it stands it is too anonymous to be viable.
I firmly believe that Zionite is town, and just wasn't thinking.
Poggy is so scum it hurts. Uber-defensive, deflecting, and trying (and failing) to lurk in plain sight with his posts.
Cyan and MH is a null tell. Cyan has always acted like a bit of a snob when he doesn't get his way, and manders seems to doing his best to brush it off. Pretty sure neither of them are scum, but if one was I would bet on cyan.

As the hat made its way around the theater, person by person laid slips of paper inside. Some were hesitant to place their choice in the hat, others almost leapt at the chance. Slowly but surely, it mades its way back up toward the front of the theater.
unvote AE, I intended to vote the entire group, but I guess the vote count proves I can;t...
Zionite is town, he saw the benefits from his side, and we just saw how it could be devastating. What he did suggest was everyone should get roleblocked, I am pretty sure he is smart enough to know what that meant, so I doubt he would expose himself with that plan.
Poggy, I don't even know what to make of. He flails like a magikarp with a focus sash, and I don't know why. Does anyone know a game he was scum I could look at, or is he still too new?
@Shalako: Are we going to play are usual game of grab ass or just move on to the topics at hand?
@Poggy, why do you care about the vote count when your getting questioned? Let us worry about your threshold as the townies voting you are very aware of how close you are to a hammer/L-2, and those who are not, we can probably make a scum case of...
@Emo: That might be a decent idea later, but for now, I just see that as a bunch of WIFOM as the scum would be hearing this which means either the town will be lying, or the scum will know exactly where to go to benefit the area roleblock.
Are certain zones inherently unsafe? What does unsafe entail? Do you believe that a player has the ability to negatively impact the safety of a zone? If yes, do you believe that player is scum?
Actually, when I look back over Zionite's post, it makes no mention of or insinuation about the mafia nightkill. This is a good vote. I considered voting him in my last post but elected to wait for Zionite's response first. Zionite's response has been good, but now there is an even more scummy player than Shalako.
[quote=Shalako;/comments/10715748]Night Kill can get role blocked too.
By a town roleblocker, yes. But that's not what we're talking about here.
What a better plan might be is to plan out who we send where in order to not ☺☺☺☺ with abilities. If we make sure every location has 2 townies then it might be harder for the scum to use abilities in that area without hitting the upper limit.
What are people's thoughts about claiming what area you will be in at night?
Anyone that has played a game w/ poggydude(or vezok, or joboman, etcetera) has to know that he always sounds scummy. Feel free to go read GHS Mafia for a good example of how he acts as town.
Note, I am not saying that he is not scum. I don't know whether or not he is. I'm saying that it is too early to tell for a player like poggydude. Also, 5 people voting him within 80 posts doesn't inspire any confidence in me.
MH, however, I feel confident is scum. It is obviously early, but her attitude in this game is very similar to her attitude in GHS. In particular, in that game, she hopped on any wagon that seemed like it might go anywhere, just like this one. Seriously, the speed with which she voted and then abandoned the Zionite wagon is completely damning against her. If she was town, she wouldn't have abandoned her vote nearly that easily. She has simply moved onto an easier target in poggydude.
That is what I assumed he meant by helping the town.
I need responses from him.
Oh Noes.
Why can't I remember what game had physical and magic abilities? I think it was Amistarian. Anyway, if you'd read that game you'd know why it'd be a bad assumption that the mafia kill must be magical in a magic-themed game. I like the attempt at sarcasm-***-nonchalance regarding my vote, too. You don't sound like you have anything to worry about at all.
I think Cyan has white whale syndrome regarding MH, to be honest, and a lot of what he says about her can't be taken seriously.
I'm ok with giving tordeck a little more time. His early posts remind me of his play in Symbiote. Shalako is a better target.

Cyan and MH is a null tell. Cyan has always acted like a bit of a snob when he doesn't get his way, and manders seems to doing his best to brush it off. Pretty sure neither of them are scum, but if one was I would bet on cyan.

This needs to be addressed as well.

As the hat made its way around the theater, person by person laid slips of paper inside. Some were hesitant to place their choice in the hat, others almost leapt at the chance. Slowly but surely, it mades its way back up toward the front of the theater.

With 21 alive, it takes 11 to lynch.
Corrections are welcome.
The GJ way path to no lynching:
What they said.
I am leaning town on Syrenz.
By a town roleblocker, yes. But that's not what we're talking about here.
Like shooting fish in a barrel.
Vote tordeck
Thoughts?
