With 4 players alive, it takes 3 votes to lynch.
------------------------
After a distressingly quiet night, there is a poignant restlessness among the residents of the theater.
Everyone is tired, some are not sure who they are yet, and seemingly everyone is just aching for a conclusion.
As kill-joy half-heartedly bludgeons yet another captive to death, the booming sound of heavy hands clapping slowly echoes down from the catwalks. Kill-joy absent-mindedly drops The_Doctor’s bloodied corpse as he, Iso, and MzztrTetris crane their heads to the ceiling.
“I have to say…I am enormously impressed. I brought you all here to find out who had what it takes. Who knew it would end up being somebody who can’t even remember their real name.”
You all exchange confused glances as a hulking man descends rapidly on a scaffold.
“Ah, but how rude of me to not tell you my real name. Though I suppose I shouldn’t call it that.”
He steps purposefully off the scaffold, gesturing pompously with outstretched arms.
“I am Dr. Lyman. Dwayne Lyman, to be more precise.
Some 6 years ago or so, I awoke from a devastating motorcycle accident. I couldn’t remember anything. Where I was going, how I had crashed...
Or who I was. I visited an untold number of expert neurologists near and far. You see, though I had my wallet in my pocket after the crash – a luxury I chose not to afford you – and I could see my “real” name, I felt no attachment. And as I learned that my condition was rare and I may never remember my past life, I determined not to care about it.
After all, who is to say that I am not Dwayne Lyman, the identity I created for myself?”
More uneasy looks are shot across the room as Lyman continues on, undeterred.
“So I became precisely who I wanted to be. It was intoxicating. Liberating. I pushed the envelope of what I thought I knew, attended a University with the money my past self had stored away, consumed knowledge greedily and soon earned my doctorate.
I had made the created self a real and successful thing. And for a time, that was enough. But something was missing.
I ravenously furthered my research into the human mind, tearing through the old me’s life savings, and aching to uncover the secret to my own mental strength. How I could stand to NOT remember. Was I alone?”
Lyman stops to smile widely.
“I was not…alone. It turned out, after hundreds of human experiments in my studies that there is an extraordinary brain enzyme called Acetylhydrolase. Once thought to be relatively useless, I discovered that individuals with high levels of AHL are actually pre-determined to be able to detach themselves from all the memories, experiences and life they had created.
The only problem is that these individuals had no idea how special they were. They had no idea what an amazing gift they had waiting to be unlocked inside their heads!
It is a gift that I know…and one that the rest of the world needed to know.
But first…I needed to find a remarkable example of such a person. Their brain would become the base of my final series of experiments. And from their amazing chemistry, I would be able to free the world from themselves!
And so, by just slipping some unreasonable amount of money into the hands of this city’s neurologists, I found 12 people with the highest levels of AHL on record.”
He softens his voice.
“And here before me, are the remains.”
Trying to process this deluge of information, the three of you start to raise objections when Lyman snaps back into the monologue.
“YOU!” he shouts, pointing at MzztrTetris. “Tinware, my unwittingly faithful tool. I certainly could not have done this without you. That being said, I no longer require your services.”
Moving with cat-like speed, Dr. Lyman lunges forward and smashes his palm into MzztrTetris’ face. He crumples wordlessly to the ground. “As for you two…where to begin? With the loser, I suppose.”
He circles in on kill-joy.
“Skylar Pfister, I have to say I was shocked at your performance in this game. You were more brutal than I anticipated, and effective.
However, you failed to notice a snake in your midst. And that, I fear, has endeared me somewhat to the snake.
Cheeseboard, if you would?”
Iso hears the command, grins a wicked grin, and slits kill-joy’s throat.
“Oh, Cheeseboard…we are going to have so much fun changing the world.”
-----
GAME OVER!!
MAFIA (Seppel, Wheat_Grinder, and Iso) WINS!!!
Thanks so much to everyone for playing, especially all of the wonderful replacements.
Eventually I’ll be posting full role PMs, thoughts, and maybe some other fun stuff.
Let me know what you all thought of the game!

Quote from TheFooFish »
Lies! -I'm Buffy Summers, town tracker. I used my ability on you and saw that you didn't use any abilities before the game started. My flavor is I was sucked through a mysterious space-time portal and I'm here to kill all the vampires, and my tracking ability is a combination of my Slayer and Native American skills.
WinCondition: All non-town players are eliminated.
StartingAbility: At night, you may name a player. If that Player is targeted that night, you will be notified (Note: You will not be told who, or how many people targeted said player).
MemoryTrigger: The player you watch is targeted by at least one other individual.
TrueName: Benito Moretti
RecalledAbility: At night, name a player. All other abilities used against that player that night will be prevented.
Trigger PM: Used to be, nobody messed with Benito. Yes, that’s it. In the time before this ordeal, you were a...bouncer. By night, anyway.
But you’ve always been able to protect your loved ones. Far from just hired muscle, your caring nature and bedside manner have always made you a treasured friend, son, and sibling.
At night, name a player. All other abilities used against that player that night will be prevented.
Moniker: Sangria
Alignment: Town
WinCondition: All non-town players are eliminated.
StartingAbility: You have no vote.
MemoryTrigger: Stay alive until Day 3.
TrueName: Carmella Kilian
RecalledAbility: You have two votes.
Trigger PM: A sudden rush of realization comes over you. The last several days, you were scared and unsure, afraid to impart any great importance on yourself. But that was a mistake.
You are now remembering who you were. A person of great influence, a politician. As a Congresswoman, you have always had the gift of the silver tongue, and you’ve typically chosen to use it for good rather than shady motives.
You have two votes.
Moniker: Cuboid
Alignment: Town
WinCondition: All non-town players are eliminated.
StartingAbility: Every other night, starting Night 1 (continuing N3, N5, N7), you may hide to avoid being targeted in any way.
MemoryTrigger: Avoid being voted more than once for a full day. (If you don’t do this Day 1, you will get another chance Day 2, etc.)
TrueName: Faye Bowers
RecalledAbility: Each night, you may name a player. All abilities targeting you that night will instead target the named player.
Trigger PM: “Faye Bowers...” Your name is the first thing you remember as you take a deep, measured breath. With a start, you recall that you are one of the few people that ever knew even that much about yourself.
You were...are...a shadow. Undetectable by even the most accomplished spies, and only visible when you wished it to be so. Before this blackout, you were a government operative working for the Witnesss Protection program, with a penchant for inventing believable backstories for yourself and others.
Each night, you may name a player. All abilities targeting you that night will instead target the named player.
Moniker: Tantalizer
Alignment: Town
WinCondition: All non-town players are eliminated.
StartingAbility: If you do not have your memory back when Night 3 begins, you will demand to be checked into a mental health facility, and thus will leave the game.
MemoryTrigger: Each post you make on a multiple of 100 (i.e. post #100, #200, #300, etc…) will earn you a hint. Your memory triggers when you collect 3 hints.
TrueName: Keila Lundborg
RecalledAbility: You have no abilities.
Trigger PM: You gasp loudly and clutch at your knees to steady yourself. With a surge of relief, 29 years of experiences, successes, failures and anxiety come screaming back.
Try as you might to stop it, your newly returned thoughts turn to your grandmother, your closest living relative. You close your eyes tightly as you remember the last time you visited, when you were a total stranger to the Alzheimer patient. You remember the hurt you felt, and the guilt you felt for being hurt. “But how could she not remember her Keila?” you had lamented, tears streaming down your face.
You compose yourself, wishing for nothing more than to run to her, to hold her and explain that you now know how frightening and helpless it feels to be stripped of identity and relevance. That you understand, and love her all the more.
But first, you have to get out of this place, one way or the other.
You have no abilities.
Moniker: Esprit
Alignment: Town
WinCondition: All non-town players are eliminated.
StartingAbility: You have no abilities.
MemoryTrigger: Each of your posts for a full day must include at least one question. (If you don’t do this Day 1, you will get another chance Day 2, etc.)
TrueName: Saundra Aberle
RecalledAbility: Each night, you may name a player. That player can’t use any abilities that night through the following day.
Trigger PM: It was Saundra at home, and Warden at work. It was almost like you were two people at once, you remember. To your kids and husband, Saundra was a loving, gentle and understanding mother. But to the inmates under your watch at the state penitentiary, “the Warden” was unflinching, calculating and lawful to a fault.
The dichotomy has always made you feel uncomfortable, since it sometimes can be hard to see yourself as one whole.
Each night, you may name a player. That player can’t use any abilities that night through the following day.
Moniker: Jellyroll
Alignment: Town
WinCondition: All non-town players are eliminated.
StartingAbility: Each vote against you counts as two votes against.
MemoryTrigger: Each post you make on a multiple of 50 (i.e. post #50, #100, #150, etc…) will earn you a hint. Your memory triggers when you collect 3 hints.
TrueName: Ezra Brignolo
RecalledAbility: Each night, you may name a player. That player will die by your blade.
Trigger PM: “Hand to hand combat is for insufferable brutes.” An unsettling first thought to have after remembering yourself. As you glance down at your 5’1”, 115 pound frame, you understand why you might have this sudden sentiment. You may have been picked on by some of the larger-bodied thugs in this captivity, but they haven’t met the real Ezra yet.
The real Ezra has no patience for wrongdoing or bullying, and a penchant for justice. Being tormented as a child was enough to catapult you to a career path of some questionable morals. As a US Governement “special ops” agent, you specialize in knives, and the art of being unseen as you plunge your blade into the backs of enemies of the state. Co-workers derisively call you an assassin. Your marks don’t have the chance to call you anything.
Each night, you may name a player. That player will die by your blade.
Moniker: Quarterstaff
Alignment: Town
WinCondition: All non-town players are eliminated.
StartingAbility: You own a bulletproof vest that will save you from a single kill attempt. After that, it is unusable. It will not go away when your memory triggers.
MemoryTrigger: Be the final vote on a non-town wagon.
TrueName: Skylar Pfister
RecalledAbility: One time only, you may name a player at night. You will discover their alignment.
Trigger PM: The thrill of being the one to nail that despicable scum ushers a flood of memories to your wearied mind. You seem to remember being a disciple of justice in the past. Yes, a police detective with the NYPD! You smile broadly and wonder how you ever could have forgotten the pride you had.
Then, just as quick as it came, the smile fades. You remember last year being one of great sadness. Your retirement party came and went, and weeks passed with nothing to do but tend your garden out back. Nobody seems to remember civil servants once their hour has come. With a renewed longing and sense of impotence, you vow to go out with one last hurrah. Even sleeping dogs can muster enough strength for one last trick.
One time only, you may name a player at night. You will discover their alignment.
Moniker: Hayfield
Alignment: Town
WinCondition: All non-town players are eliminated.
StartingAbility: You have a lynch threshold of Lynch - 1.
MemoryTrigger: Write a post that includes every player’s accurate Moniker.
TrueName: Tyrone Hinchman
RecalledAbility: You have no abilities.
Trigger PM: That pesky, clouded fog that had been toying with you lifts with an audible sigh. You remark at how wonderful it feels just to know something, no matter how trivial.
To know that you are Tyrone Hinchman, bachelor and sophomore at NYU, relatively unspectacular in nearly every way, is a blessing.
Despite how much it gnawed at you in the past, today it is a wonderful thing to be average, plain ol’ Tyrone once again.
You have no abilities.
Moniker: Cheeseboard
Alignment: Mafia, along with Seppel and Reya Cookiebringer. QuickTopic HERE (http://www.quicktopic.com/46/H/zTQN85S4ia9h). Each night, one mafia member should PM me the name of a jointly-agreed-upon kill.
WinCondition: The mafia are equal to or exceed the number of town players.
StartingAbility: You are kill-immune.
MemoryTrigger: Become targeted with a kill.
TrueName: Clifford Moyland
RecalledAbility: Your scum-mates are now kill-immune (but you no longer are).
Trigger PM: After surviving almost certain death, you start to remember exactly what you are. A name returns to you in a whisper. Clifford Moyland. You were always something of a paradox. From a gentle giant in your younger days, to a convalescent killer in your adult years.
Despite an unsavory career path of thief and enforcer, you have always felt a strange need to care for those closest to you, putting their safety above even your own. “Honor among thieves,” your co-conspirators had sarcastically called it.
You take a moment to detest the selfish self-preservation you concerned yourself with while you remembered nothing. They may say terrible things about you, and well-deserved. ‘But,” you think with determination, ‘They will never again call me disloyal.’
Your scum-mates are now kill-immune (but you no longer are).
Moniker: Walkover
Alignment: Mafia, along with Iso and Reya Cookiebringer. QuickTopic HERE (http://www.quicktopic.com/46/H/zTQN85S4ia9h). Each night, one mafia member should PM me the name of a jointly-agreed-upon kill.
WinCondition: The mafia are equal to or exceed the number of town players.
StartingAbility: You have no abilities.
MemoryTrigger: Personally submit a successful mafia kill.
TrueName: Quinton Welsh
RecalledAbility: If you are the submitter of a successful mafia kill, you will gain a one-time use of any night ability the victim had available at the time.
Trigger PM: Despite a waterfall of memory rushing back, you still can’t seem to place your original name. The one your parents had carelessly given.
Of course, you have a name that the world currently recognizes as your own. Quinton Welsh. You test it out loud and scoff at the sheer pretense. But before Quinton Welsh, it had been Kyle Eldred, and Ben Masterson, and Jules Coyne before that.
The names and public faces of men who no longer lived to command them. They were unworthy of them, or so you have reasoned. ‘A man is only entitled to their identity until someone more capable takes it from them.’
But you’ve grown tired of simply taking credit cards and drivers’ licenses from your victims. It’s time to up the stakes.
If you are the submitter of a successful mafia kill, you will gain a one-time use of any night ability the victim had available at the time.
Moniker: Maraschino
Alignment: Mafia, along with Iso and Seppel.
MemoryTrigger: Once you have voted once for every other player in the game. This won’t trigger if you vote for more than one player in the same post.
TrueName: Ericka Chesire
RecalledAbility: One-time-only, you may transfer up to five votes from you onto another player.
Trigger PM: With sudden awareness, you grimace privately. Everything now makes sense. Beautiful, comprehensive sense. You stayed in the background, careful not to betray the wicked thoughts knocking at the base of your mind. You were unsure of your name, your occupation, your power and your influence. But what you never lost was your feeling of superiority.
It takes everything in you to suppress the laughter fighting against the corner of your lips. Ericka Chesire is no weakling. She is no mewling lackey either. Before this cursed setback, you were a cunning businesswoman. A chair on the LuminoCorp board, and more powerful than even your closest confidants knew.
To you, the ability to inspire confidence and command loyalty was second-nature. Almost too simple. Countless times, you had pilfered top employees from competing companies with ease. And though you have enough money to buy whatever loyalties you could want, it’s so much more fun to take it.
One-time-only, you may transfer up to five votes from you onto another player.
Moniker: Tinware
Alignment: Neutral
WinCondition: Be the last one standing.
Name: The Operative
You have no starting/recalled abilities.
This moment is...undefinable. Nothing stops the spinning. The haze may never lift from your head.
The 11 others look ahead, battling with their own issues, not knowing their biggest obstacle is sitting cross-legged in the corner and clutching a modified match box.
FLASH
“I want you to listen carefully now. You are nobody. From here on out, you are simply The Operative. To others, you are only to refer to yourself as Tinware.”
The voice was assured, bordering on cocky. The immediate feeling was repulsion. You don’t want to be this man’s lackey. You don’t want to remember that you know him. But it’s all you can remember in this moment.
“If you want to be somebody again, and I don’t know why you would want to, I need you to get your hands dirty. That doesn’t bother you....does it? Wait. I don’t care.”
A matchbox is thrust into your hands. Where did that come from?
“There are 11 Neural Disruptors in that box. They may look like matches, but they are infinitely more valuable. Check your pocket.”
You pull out a folded sheet of paper. Inside is a detailed map with 11 circled addresses and apartment numbers scrawled in the margins.
“You’ll be hitting each of those locations tonight. Put the match under the door and stomp on the bigger end. That’s it. Oh, and I need you to head to this address tomorrow evening to oversee things for me...”
FLASH
‘Is that what these things are?’ you whisper, toying with the box. ‘Fail-safes...These’ll wipe their memories again.’
A black matchstick...Neural Disrupter... lies sectioned away from the others. You roll it from side to side, and then ---
FLASH
“Ah, this one. This one is ONLY to be used if too many of the subjects snap out of it. It’s a last resort, but very much...permanent. Don’t screw this up, Tinware. Only I can restore you.”
FLASH
You can’t be the target of investigations.
You can’t be killed.
Each night, you may choose to revert someone back to their original state of amnesia.
Once 7 people regain their memory (for the first time), you gain a one-shot kill. It can’t be used the same night as your other ability.
Quick Thoughts:
I was rather surprised at the way this game turned out.
With loran16 being on Iso from nearly the beginning, and Seppel going down Day 2, it seemed like the mafia was done for...until the game shifted pretty dramatically to townies dropping like flies.
A few of the late-game power roles I envisioned sticking around, like Roja's sleeping double-voter role, were snuffed out, and suddenly the mafia had a stranglehold on a victory.
Until they didn't.
This was a very close endgame, and honestly unpredictable even for me to watch unfold. Unfortunately for Dagger/MzztrTetris, an SK kill was nigh impossible without the one-shot kill being unlocked, but the game only got to 6 memories unlocking, to my great surprise.
Some of the easiest triggers were never hit, for various reasons (Iso putting out a false moniker claim to nerf Tanarin's trigger, Roja dying just before his trigger, etc...) and Tinware narrowly missed out on a rare SK victory.
Overall, I think the game ended up balancing out to a nice finish, with all sides holding the power at different times.
Congratulations to pretty much everyone for strong showings, despite a heavy replacement rate. It was a pleasure to moderate for you all.
Now for a loooong break from doing this again, hopefully

You know, it's funny, if I got forced to falseclaim my Amnesia flavor, I was going to claim to be a thief.
Oh, also, so tezz WAS an SK? I was confused as to how he got his ability with only the amount of memories unlocked that he did. Could you clarify the Night actions for us, too, Alpha?

I was spectating this game, but I lost track of it after that horrible Night 1 for the scum IIRC. I came back, and Iso was leading you all around by the nose. Why was he cleared exactly?
That's how he endgamed you all, and I just don't understand it. You had him dead to rights when you chose to no lynch. Even Seppel was ticked off at the gambit using the Vote ability mechanic with Reya/Wheat_Grinder. If I read correctly, I think he thought that had outted Iso as well.
Also, [Spoiler Alert: Controversy Ahead] I strongly suggest Reya be put on probation. This is yet another game that his innactivity had a huge impact upon. NGE is another example.
Well done, Iso! You sure spun a line of BS well in this game.

My Clan Is Dead.... Long Live The Izzet! Johnny, born and raised. Always lookin' for the Next Level Combo. Thanks to Bornover of FHLS for the banner!
I had a suspicion of this. I think town would have had a better chance if Dagger would have counterclaimed Iso when he had the chance. The NK mystery was what threw me off and I, being a replacement, was lost for much of my stay. Minis are fairly complex, I will be more careful when I start in one again
I was cleared in Day 1 because I "guessed" that Manders could see my alignment as a result of me quoting her, which is clearly only a thought that a townie could have.
The Wheat_Grinder gambit was an attempt to force the game into a quick win, because I knew, well, it's all in the scumchat. I had a lot of monologue in there. Recommend the read.
Also, our targeting Dagger Night 1 with the kill was a blessing in disguise, as it helped me play off my ability and "clear" me further.

Another brutal thing was how Tanarin had no shot at clearing his amnesia, since Iso kept lying about his Moniker. Subtlety might have helped, but yeah. It was clever.

Yeah, I feel kind of bad about the design of that trigger, but, I always imagined whoever got that just asking for a softclaim and letting someone else suggest monikers. To ease any hesitation to give them up.
Ah well.

So tezz lied about using his shot? o.0 Was he hoping to save it for the endgame?
Tezz never got his shot. He needed 7 people to trigger their memory to unlock it, and the game stopped short at 6, with you being his last hope.
Nobody around to target you with a kill, though.

So uh, did he know what his ability was going to be beforehand? o-o If not, then damn, lucky guess, much?
I KNEW that I needed to get Doc lynched, because there was a chance that kill-joy was lying about his own ability, which meant I didn't have to play a guessing game in an attempt to figure out who Doc protected.

Tezz/Dagger was the only player in this game that didn't have amnesia in the sense that everyone else did. If you read his role PM, you'll see that he had all of his abilities from the start.
Incidentally, I want to give a HUGE thank-you to Ged for reviewing this setup for me and helping me flesh out a lot of the triggers I had that were too difficult, easy, backwards, etc...
Couldn't have made it work without him.

KoolKoal: Feel free to take this with a grain of salt since self meta isn't particularly helpful, but I think I get scumread mostly for style over substance, but also for a certain lack of substance over style. It's not so much what I AM posting most of the time (though sometimes that can seem bad) but what I'm NOT posting. I've been told I come to non-obvious conclusions a lot, so when I post, quite a bit of the time there's jumps in logic that people can't follow and they think that's scummy. I get that accusation about a lot of questions I ask specifically. People call them "busy work" when the questions are legit etc.
As far as things to ignore, I can't think of anything. I would suggest you focus less on what I'm doing and more on how I'm doing it. That's probably more likely to be accurate. Like I've just said, what I do tends to come off a little weird, but if you look for how I do it, mindset comes into play and maybe you figure out something useful.
That was a very exciting endgame to read. Congrats to the scum.
I was so mad when I got NKed. Over the night I had (95%) finished a post analyzing Iso and eventually concluding he was scum. Then I died. And learned Iso was indeed scum. :mad1:
I didn't expect to get killed because at that point I was basically worse than vanilla and hadn't even said much up till that point. Apparently, NKing me is trendy now. I can't even remember what my last game was where I survived a single night.
Tezz lied (understandably, as he was neutral) and made it seem like there was a dichotomy between himself and the Doctor, so that's why.
Though, if the town had thought about it, Tezz's actions at the endgame made very little sense from a mafioso's perspective. Why wouldn't he have just gone with the plan and killed Doc, then lynched Iso the next day? Which is I guess why you guys lynched Doc.
Also, I'm perplexed that when Tezz claimed to be unkillable, no one brought up the fact that Dagger had already claimed, and that unkillability wasn't part of said claim. Especially since later it was suspected that he blocked the N1 kill (which was before Dagger's claim, eliminating even the excuse of "my memory triggered"). Though, I think by that point the town needed to lynch Iso (who could kill) first in order to have a chance at winning.
Yeah, I feel kind of bad about the design of that trigger, but, I always imagined whoever got that just asking for a softclaim and letting someone else suggest monikers. To ease any hesitation to give them up.
Ah well.
Yeah, the problem was there was no benefit to claiming monikers as far as anyone could tell. Which is why Tanarin ended up just coming clean.
If I had had the role from the start, I probably would have just said something along the lines of "Everyone should claim their monikers. It is not in the town's best interest for me to explain why." and seen if I could get away with it. From the scum's perspective, they might be worried that I'm something like a moniker cop and claim their real ones, and if they really pussyfoot with it, then I'd probably be more inclined to think they're scum (see: Iso's reaction to Tanarin at the start of the game).
Though I would have been massively disappointed if I went through all that work to get my memory and it turned out I was vanilla.

Firstly, let me apologize for going absent when I did. There had been a death close to me, and I was basically AWOL from a lot of stuff for almost the entire week of the funeral, which just so happened to be right around the time day 3 was getting underway.
Second, I hadnt been keeping tabs on the game to see what SP had set up with unfortunately. The gambit was excellent on his part, faking a MMM to get people to not vote him so the amnesia would trigger. I was kinda worried when I jumped in and saw what he had done though, since how could I know that the MMM would go away after the amnesia triggered etc, but no one seemed to pick up on that part at all.
Also was very worried about getting the trigger. If loran in his stupid crusade had thought to unvote me and then vote me again, he could have screwed me the entire game by keeping my amnesia running.

No one actually lied about my trigger. I needed not to be voted twice in a day. Just the way SP went and handled it was a little different. And it wasnt like I could come into the game and all of a sudden be talking when SP went his route. I probably would have been lynched immediately lol

Hey, I understand that, but a mini can't have exclusively power roles. I had to find some way to work in vanillas, but I still wanted everyone to have some objective to try to reach.
My role was terrible. The only way I could get my shot, which is the only way I could win the game, was through outside help? No.
How did the scum even win though? Isn't kill-joy bulletproof?
I new Iso was scum the whole time btw. My plan for the next day was to get him lynched, and then shoot kill-joy the next night.
@Alpha-What did the generic wincons entail exactly?
Something you need to understand about your role, Tetris, is that I couldn't give you a nightly kill considering the mafia had a nightkill and Loran could unlock a nightly vig. There were some other balancing factors (bulletproof vest, a few un-NKables, Doc, Redirector), but the possibility of 3 kills in one night for a mini is absurd.
That being said, you had a very difficult role to kill, and it's supposed to be difficult to win as SK.
The town/scum/SK wincons are all in the role PMs post.

Agreed that the gambit really helped SP incentivize gaining his memory back. Very smart move.

You played brilliantly at the end and had it all figured out. Unfortunately, it was your doubt that won the game for my faction.

I do like the fact that I had Dagger pinned down, to the point of hoping that the mafia would NK me the night I got my memories back, and would be redirected to Dagger. Would have been a fun morning to wake up to lol

Imagine that I'm scum in that situation, with tezz, you and Doc as town (as the original theory had no neutrals in it). If I hammered Doc, what would I have gotten? a Night with two claimed unNKables.

I was cleared in Day 1 because I "guessed" that Manders could see my alignment as a result of me quoting her, which is clearly only a thought that a townie could have.
I'm glad this game is over because you'll never get away with this again if I'm alive!
No one actually lied about my trigger. I needed not to be voted twice in a day. Just the way SP went and handled it was a little different. And it wasnt like I could come into the game and all of a sudden be talking when SP went his route. I probably would have been lynched immediately lol
No, if I were still in the game, I wouldn't have lynched you just for that. It would have been scum points because I could TOTALLY see SP doing that as scum, but it wouldn't have been ENOUGH evidence.
I would have been looking for the evidence, though. You know, if I'd had the time.

@Alpha-A guarantee of a shot would have been nice, not the chance of one. Because by day four, I dont believe it would have been physically possible for me to win. My role was way underbalanced, and the mafia wincon should have been changed to "When you control at least half of the votes." What made it even more unfair was the two nearly unightkillable roles.
Gotta say, Alpha. I know it's supposed to be hard to win as SK, but 7 was too much. That's over half the players who have to trigger their memories before he can shoot. And then he can shoot once.
I would have kept the number at 7, but made him unlimited. That way he still has to wait for over half the original playerbase, but if he survives that long, it'll be explosive!
Regardless, it was a fantastic setup, dear. Many, many kudos...and probably some nominations.
I knew this game would be awesome, I knew I should've entered it, I knew I should not play 3 games at once so when awesome games like this show up I can actually play one them!
After each flip and after seeing the setup I can only blame myself for not playing this. Awesome game is awesome, congrats on everyone.

The game is not being dumbed down. Control is doing fine; Draw-Go is not the only kind of control. Aggro is doing fine; Red Deck Wins is not the only kind of aggro. Creature combat is an important core concept and belongs in every color. Mythic rarity is not destroying the game. People whine too much for no good reason. Magic is more popular than ever, so keep calm, brew some decks and play some damn cards.

Though in part, it was because I had absolutely atrocious D1 play.
Oh, and I just remembered that I also had Dagger correctly pegged as a Neutral! Remember where I thought he claimed to be one? Yeahhh.
Anyway, because tezz was a fresh face to the game and actually commenced a re-read from the start, I knew he'd be on to me. And the fact that I found out Dagger was unkillable made me want to get rid of tezz even more. :U That's probably the biggest reason I was pushing his lynch. In retrospect, it probably would have looked great for me if I had successfully lynched tezz and he flipped Neutral due to our dichotomy. And then maybe I could have painted kill-joy as scum through that. Oh well, it all worked out in my team's favor, so, woot!

My plan basically went like this:
You, Iso, were supposed to kill The Doctor the night I was supposed to. If the wincon was correct, the game would continue.
You would get your memory back the next day, I would get my shot. Kill_joy and I would lynch you, and then I would shoot kill-joy.
This plan basically went out the window when The Doctor lived and kill-joy claimed.
Let me explain to you why that plan wasn't going to work.
Firstly, I didn't know what kill-joy's ability was, or even that Doc was going to use his own ability on him. I wanted Doc to die, but if Doc died, I would have been the next Day's lynch. I wanted kill-joy to die, but there was the uncertainty factor, and I had you pegged as a Neutral, so I wanted to try to see if I could cause two deaths that Night. Since I wasn't sure if you maintained your unkillability after the claimed Amnesia activation, I figured I'd take my chances with targeting you, and if I could somehow disrupt your kill ability or at least kill you in the process, then I would be good for Doc's lynch tomorrow.

I really gotta learn how to convince other people about my beleives without getting into some logic knot that gets me killed.
I think this is what 3 times now where I was the only one correctly "voting" for a scum with no one willing to listen.. /sigh
Alpha I will say I had the most frustrating time "playing" this game.. It has stung so much that I really don't want to get back into Mafia becuase of it...
Having no vote and only a voice in this game was sucky. Not to mention that I would have done better off in this game had I shut up and made up some lame reason on why i couldn't post. And really why would I want to sign up to do nothing? I wouldn't recomend it for any future games.
Thank you for allowing me to play though. I still learned which is great.
Anyways way to be a great bully Iso, you rode victory with that attitude. I'm just glad it's finally over.

I'm sorry that you had a bad experience with your role, but I still think the design for it was sound. Mafia aren't likely to NK someone who can't vote, it's confirmable, and you would have become a double voter the very next day; a huge boon for the town in a late-game stage of a mini.
Thank you for sticking with the game despite your reservations, however. I truly appreciate it!

VOTE COUNT #18
----------------
The_Doctor (3) – MzztrTetris, Iso, kill-joy
----------
With 4 players alive, it takes 3 votes to lynch.
Moniker: Scrimshaw
Alignment: Town
Win Condition: All non-town players are eliminated.
Starting Ability: At night, you may name a player. If that Player is targeted that night, you will be notified (Note: You will not be told who, or how many people targeted said player).
Memory Trigger: The player you watch is targeted by at least one other individual.
True Name: Benito Moretti
Recalled Ability: At night, name a player.
Win Condition: All non-town players are eliminated.
Starting Ability: You have no vote.
Memory Trigger: Stay alive until Day 3.
True Name: Carmella Kilian
Recalled Ability: You have two votes.
Win Condition: All non-town players are eliminated.
Starting Ability: Every other night, starting Night 1 (continuing N3, N5, N7), you may hide to avoid being targeted in any way.
Memory Trigger: Avoid being voted more than once for a full day. (If you don’t do this Day 1, you will get another chance Day 2, etc.)
True Name: Faye Bowers
Recalled Ability: Each night, you may name a player.
Win Condition: All non-town players are eliminated.
Starting Ability: If you do not have your memory back when Night 3 begins, you will demand to be checked into a mental health facility, and thus will leave the game.
Memory Trigger: Each post you make on a multiple of 100 (i.e. post #100, #200, #300, etc…) will earn you a hint. Your memory triggers when you collect 3 hints.
True Name: Keila Lundborg
Recalled Ability: You have no abilities.
Win Condition: All non-town players are eliminated.
Starting Ability: You have no abilities.
Memory Trigger: Each of your posts for a full day must include at least one question. (If you don’t do this Day 1, you will get another chance Day 2, etc.)
True Name: Saundra Aberle
Recalled Ability: Each night, you may name a player.
Win Condition: All non-town players are eliminated.
Starting Ability: Each vote against you counts as two votes against.
Memory Trigger: Each post you make on a multiple of 50 (i.e. post #50, #100, #150, etc…) will
earn you a hint. Your memory triggers when you collect 3 hints.
True Name: Ezra Brignolo
Recalled Ability: Each night, you may name a player.
Win Condition: All non-town players are eliminated.
Starting Ability: You own a bulletproof vest that will save you from a single kill attempt. After that, it is unusable. It will not go away when your memory triggers.
Memory Trigger: Be the final vote on a non-town wagon.
True Name: Skylar Pfister
Recalled Ability: One time only, you may name a player at night.
Win Condition: All non-town players are eliminated.
Starting Ability: You have a lynch threshold of Lynch - 1.
Memory Trigger: Write a post that includes every player’s accurate Moniker.
True Name: Tyrone Hinchman
Recalled Ability: You have no abilities.
Win Condition: The mafia are equal to or exceed the number of town players.
Starting Ability: You are kill-immune.
Memory Trigger: Become targeted with a kill.
True Name: Clifford Moyland
Recalled Ability: Your scum-mates are now kill-immune (but you no longer are).
Win Condition: The mafia are equal to or exceed the number of town players.
Starting Ability: You have no abilities.
Memory Trigger: Personally submit a successful mafia kill.
True Name: Quinton Welsh
Recalled Ability: If you are the submitter of a successful mafia kill, you will gain a one-time use of any night ability the victim had available at the time.
QuickTopic HERE (http://www.quicktopic.com/46/H/zTQN85S4ia9h). Each night, one mafia member should PM me the name of a jointly-agreed-upon kill.
Win Condition: The mafia are equal to or exceed the number of town players.
Starting Ability: You have no abilities.
Memory Trigger: Once you have voted once for every other player in the game. This won’t trigger if you vote for more than one player in the same post.
True Name: Ericka Chesire
Recalled Ability: One-time-only, you may transfer up to five votes from you onto another player.
Win Condition: Be the last one standing.
*Final Fantasy victory chime*
And in my 2nd started game, too!
Fantastic play, everyone. I had a blast.
Alpha, amazing setup. Keep modding!

That's how he endgamed you all, and I just don't understand it. You had him dead to rights when you chose to no lynch. Even Seppel was ticked off at the gambit using the Vote ability mechanic with Reya/Wheat_Grinder. If I read correctly, I think he thought that had outted Iso as well.
Also, [Spoiler Alert: Controversy Ahead] I strongly suggest Reya be put on probation. This is yet another game that his innactivity had a huge impact upon. NGE is another example.
Well done, Iso! You sure spun a line of BS well in this game.

Yeah, I feel kind of bad about the design of that trigger, but, I always imagined whoever got that just asking for a softclaim and letting someone else suggest monikers. To ease any hesitation to give them up.
Ah well.

Although it was my 3rd game ever at least I upturned Sep a bit for Loran.
Also, I was the only nilla. How sad. Thanks Alpha, I enjoyed it while it lasted! What a loooong game...
LOL
Incidentally, I want to give a HUGE thank-you to Ged for reviewing this setup for me and helping me flesh out a lot of the triggers I had that were too difficult, easy, backwards, etc...
Couldn't have made it work without him.
You're welcome, thanks for playing!
FTR, Dancing Mad/Tanarin was also a vanilla upon triggering their memory
If tezz hadn't botched up his plan, I would have had a hard time arguing my way out of a lynch on the last Day.

Iso won this game with the most luckiest falseclaim ever. If a doc had protected Dagger, Iso wouldn't have been believed, at all.
It also helped that I hit the ONLY uninvestigatable with my cop shot. Had I hit either of the other two,
I really really really need to learn to trust my gut more. I thought Doc was town with his plan, but I let his reputation get the better of me...
That game was a serious mind**** though. And it was my FIRST game...
Edit: dude your role is awesome. You caused our amnesia! Hehehe
I almost wish you had come forward with your trigger. I personally would've believed you.
Same here, thanks to you!
Unfortunately I was not around at the right time to seal the deal that one night...we still won anyway so I don't feel too bad.
Iso for Scum MVP.
Also no one should worry: next time I'm scum I won't out myself within 5 posts.
This isn't untrue, haha. I do give him credit for bouncing back from Wheat_Grinder's disastrous outcome of a gambit, t hough.
Mission. Accomplished.
Hey, I understand that, but a mini can't have exclusively power roles. I had to find some way to work in vanillas, but I still wanted everyone to have some objective to try to reach.
I meant the mmm, sorry.
hell yessss.
Also worth noting... When I was cleared as town for not ending the day, I actually wasn't. I'm just glad the scum didn't notice. Lol
You mean if he had watched Dagger Night 1? But yeah, probably not.
I knew you were going to figure me out. Which is why you had to die.
I didn't bring it up for obvious reasons... Besides, he kept changing his claim, so that was a point in my favor.
@tezz: # of town = # of mafia = Mafia Victory
@jskura: Sorry to hear about your loss.
Explain?
You played brilliantly at the end and had it all figured out. Unfortunately, it was your doubt that won the game for my faction.

Imagine that I'm scum in that situation, with tezz, you and Doc as town (as the original theory had no neutrals in it). If I hammered Doc, what would I have gotten? a Night with two claimed unNKables.

I was just saying I wasn't TECHNICALLY cleared, but wasn't stupid enough to admit it before the end of the game... lol
Yeah, WITH Seppel. I'm so jealous.
This game taught me a lot. I am not so quick to clear Seppel or Iso now.
My second game was an Alpha game AND my first game with Seppel, too!
I'm glad this game is over because you'll never get away with this again if I'm alive!
You're braver than I would be. I waited until my third or fourth before I played a Mini. But I played a Normal in my second.
HUGE mistake.
No, if I were still in the game, I wouldn't have lynched you just for that. It would have been scum points because I could TOTALLY see SP doing that as scum, but it wouldn't have been ENOUGH evidence.
I would have been looking for the evidence, though. You know, if I'd had the time.
I think that's a given.
You cheeky bastard
Gotta say, Alpha. I know it's supposed to be hard to win as SK, but 7 was too much. That's over half the players who have to trigger their memories before he can shoot. And then he can shoot once.
I would have kept the number at 7, but made him unlimited. That way he still has to wait for over half the original playerbase, but if he survives that long, it'll be explosive!
Regardless, it was a fantastic setup, dear. Many, many kudos...and probably some nominations.

We even have Mafia!!
After each flip and after seeing the setup I can only blame myself for not playing this. Awesome game is awesome, congrats on everyone.

1) He was less likely to be on (according to his posting history in the thread) and
2) kill-joy was on"
Oh jeez, I just realized that now everyone can read my crazy theories and thought processes a la the scum thread. :U
