So you were viewing the thread earlier, didn't post, then came back later and posted something completely unrelated? Yeah, I'm feeling pretty good about my vote.

Just to give you a heads up, I'm playing from work right now. I work in a Security Control and I have to abandon this game when visitors or staff come over here.
I hate
High Templar.
They always
kill all
of my
Zerglings.
@Everyone: Save me the trouble of wiki'ing this, and tell me: is there a flavorful reason a player would have this post restriction? Also, on a scale of 1-10, ten being I play "professionally," how familiar is everyone with the flavor? I'll go first. I'm a 1, in that I know only what I've learned from the sign-ups.
@artifice: I played SC for a bit, but I was much younger at the time and kinda skimmed through the campaign, I did play individual games for quite a bit, but then lost my CD-rom about 6 years ago, leading to no starcraft until SC2 came out, which I bought, played a lot of, and still play sporatically, so I would give myself about a 4/10. (had this game been about SC2, I would likely give myself a 7)

Take a minute, give me an encapsulated version? Please?
Terrans are humans.
Protoss are super advanced psychic / warrior aliens.
Zerg are organic infesting biotech aliens controlled by an Overmind.
Zerg start taking over Terran worlds. Protoss start coming in and nuking those worlds. Terran government starts to crumble, due to external pressures and internal rebellion. Rebellion leader Mengsk starts to take extreme measures, like luring Zerg to rush enemy planets. Sacrifices second-in-command Kerrigan for no good reason. Terran hero Raynor, outraged, defects entirely. Mengsk is now in charge of the Terrans, now an empire.
Zerg meanwhile are continuing to spread. Kerrigan turns out to be alive, but infected, and is now a Zerg superweapon. Protoss find out that Zerg cerebrates (essentially generals) can't be killed except by Dark Templar, an exiled Protoss faction. Dark Templar assassinate one cerebrate, but Zerg discover where Aiur, the Protoss Homeworld, is located. Zerg promptly launch a full offensive on it and drive the Protoss out.
Protoss are now fighting their own civil war between the ones siding with tradition (and not using Dark Templar) and those siding with the Dark Templar. Dark Templar make the argument moot by killing more Cerebrates. United Protoss forces along with a breakway Terran contingent charge the Overmind. Protoss hero (Tassadar) rams it with his ship and explodes the whole thing. Zerg now in disarray.
This doesn't cover the expansion, which had a comparable story length.
vote Yanni because I've never done that before, and I like trying out new things.
@Artifice: I'd rate myself a 6 in the original SC, even though it's been a while so I might be confuzing a lot of the storyline with Brood War (expansion).

@Arti:
I'm awful at Starcraft and know nothing of the storyline, as I never owned the first one; I only played the multiplayer at LAN parties. 1/10 on storyline.
I do not see why when we have real discussion going on these new players are continuing to randomly vote instead of contribute useful commentary.
I'm sorry, Jesus.
I just got into it a little late and I really like getting to participate in the RVS as I find it very amusing. I thought about it and figured this discussion about starcraft experience really wasn't that important and probably wouldn't lead anywhere.
Also, to weigh in, I got no idea why Prophylaxis is writing the way he is, it doesn't really fit any of the flavour I know of. Might have a revelation later though, I'll keep it in mind.

7/10. I have played the campaign and have seen a small number of strategies for SC1.
@zinda: Is Aiur a game reference? If not,...?
Aiur is the Protoss homeworld. One of the most famous Protoss quotes comes from Zealots saying "My life for Aiur!" (Second would probably be En Taro Adun if we're talking about SC1. Afterwards it becomes En Taro Tassadar for his BA sacrifice.)
I didn't play much SC1 because i really didn't like the flavor of it but the story was good. SC2 i played semi-competitivly for about 5 months but quit because in SC2, being 27 was too old to have the reaction times needed for high level play. So, about 6/10 on story flavor.

3/10 on theme knowledge. Used to play a lot, not competitively though, just with friends. And never got very far in the campaign mode, so not that familiar with story or characters.
Also owned Starcraft64 -split screen multiplayer was great. :xd:
Are you trying to say that I haven't commented on anything that's happened thus far? If so, you have no basis for that point.
I pointed out the main things that have happened up until this point in this game.
Drawing for straws noted.
You missed the fact that Ice Man voted for Void and Void's reaction.
You're spamming the thread by responding to everything everyone says and asking people to vote for you.
You're obviously being intentionally distracting.

I'm being distracting by asking people why they aren't explaining their votes or commenting on anything that's happened while we're in the stage between RVS and the actual D1? Right.

You made a comment about my interactions with Yanni in Basic #45, I reminded you that both of us were town in that game, suggesting that you think we're town in this game. If that wasn't your point, feel free to clarify.
Normally people get on my case for posting too little, so I shouldnt be the one saying this and having any credibility, but Burstinatrix, you are indeed posting too much and expecting reactions on things that nobody really cares about this early in the game, so please, post a little less often. It might help the game get out of the RVS

I'm not really seeing the connection. You had time to read the thread (you were viewing it for a good period), you had time to make an irrelevant post, but you didn't have time to make the one-line reply "What makes you think smiley means anything"?
As for the smiley, it tries to make into a joke what is otherwise a relatively serious response. Scum feel the need to do this because they're nervous and need to overcompensate.

Also, any idea about the Post Restriction? No matter how I wiki, I'm assuming that will take familiarity with the sound effects.
