Still don't understand why town aligned players would rather have lynched me just to remove the slot/confusion. I even speculated that prop could be scum, tho i was more focused on being paranoid shrug.
So regarding the game break with Grapefruit, I tried to handle it in a professional but also townie way. If I had just idled by and let grapefruit take heat when I would have known him to be town, it would have looked really bad for me. I hope no one thinks I tried to abuse the situation, and I truly apologize if you feel I did. I didn't share my info with my scum buddies.
I want to add on that I'm really sorry that it happened at all, and when I realized what I did I pushed for Cantrip to review and decide if he should mod kill my slot. I feel really awful about the whole situation because I value game integrity highly and am frustrated that I broke one of the keys rules that makes mafia work. I'll have thoughts on the game itself later, but I feel horrible that I broke a cardinal rule and am relieved the scum team won as a result.

And I think Shadow handled it as well as could be handled. It was a horrible spot to be put into and I'm sorry to everyone.

I was manipulated and fell for it. Really sorry ;-;
And yah, @shadow , I decided to completely disregard it in my final assessment of you. Rather than abusing anything, I think you were just forced into an awkward situation with little choice available.

Reading the scum chat is delighful. You guys worked so hard and earned this. Haven't finished yet but I love this quote from Proph
Quote from Proph »
either way i think that Day went really well
everyone hates each other
JT is off in his own little conspiracy world
Vaimes is disengaged, but has a shot at solving entire game
Grape is distracted by Shinichi
Anyway thought on the game, I really enjoyed this one. It was a really cool player list and despite all the replacements I felt the game stayed fun and active throughout. So thanks to everyone for that.
On the scum side serious props to all three players. QH had me fooled for a long time and did a really good job helping get the Wheat mislynch rolling. Also would have had me fooled with the fake claim if a teammate hadn't bussed and pointed out it didn't make sense!
Proph you replaced into a scum slot that was almost lynched and survived to end game. The way you kept challenging people to explain their scum/POE reads on you and show their reasons took guts and I think paid dividends. Also the bus between you and QH was well done and had me drinking a lot of wine over it.
Shadow... Man... I got completely snowed. I correctly identified the dichotomy D2 and just ignored it... And I'd read and referenced Overwatch so you know, I just shouldn't have done that. I theoretically had learned that lesson, but nope. I just got in a tunnel on AG and never got out of it. Even after dying, and that let me delude myself into thinking Shadow was town. Anyway he played the neighbor chats really well and fooled me almost completely.
On the town side it was a pleasure playing with you guys and gals. I'm sorry I was wrong about almost everything until it was too late and convincing in my wrongness...
It was an absolute pleasure playing with you guys and I hope to again. Props to Shinichi and Terry in particular for bringing the effort. You guys put in so much work and we came so close.
I have yet to know what the mistake in my claim was. If a bright mind could enlighten me? Haha.
I was sooo on the verge of claiming vanilla and saying Grape is lying/going for a game-winning mislynch with his check on me but that was a path I wasn't brave enough to take. Plus it would have confirmed Grape as townie had I gotten lynched and I didn't want to ruin my scumbuddies' options.
EL was also a great contributor this game, I want to raise my hat in his direction as well.
Yeah, I must say, what was up with the complete lack of anyone really pushing the PR dichotomy between Lingerer and I at the end there? Like, sure, setup gaming has its pitfalls, but I was all ready to go ham in a gladiate with Lng and then...nothing. Or close to nothing.
Great game though, serious amounts of effort by everyone. Shinichi, I admit I kinda felt bad for the push onto you, I'd like to think I wouldn't have scum read you so much as town, but I definitely played to my wincon there.

I'm pretty sure I was pushing it the whole day. I said the two scum teams could be you and RE or Lng and Proph. I had that dichotomy right I had the proph-RE dichotomy right, but the whole thing where you said you targeted proph, crushed my POE.

One was that there wasn't really much for you to watch at night because most of the abilities didn't target at night.

Yup, I talked about that in my claim itself, but I know RE has mentioned another mistake in particular which I don't understand. I think it had to do with me checking you.

Your reasoning didn't make sense to me. You said that you thought Terry could have lied about being visited, but the people who are checked aren't notified.

Ohhh. No, I said there was potential for people lying about visiting the target they claimed to have visited with the cop shot. That's what we did as the scum team: claiming to visit people (including scum mates) we didn't actually visit. I "visited" Terry because he was likely to get visited or get claimed to have been visited. It has nothing to do with the target itself and otherwise, I would have showed intent to go against Terry. Made no sense for me to townlock him in the situation that I caught him lying, afterall.
Still a false claim in the end, which is something I need to work on.

When the point of no return appears, it is already behind you.
Just wanted to offer a short postmortem of this game. Meant to do it earlier but been busy with school and stuff.
I replaced in because I saw that some people from MyAnimeList (a site I play on) were playing in this game and Cantrip's a cool guy - I've enjoyed playing in his games before, and replacing in at the end of Day 1 wasn't the worst idea because I could use the night to catch up. Plus, I was fresh off of a commanding win at the Mafia Universe Champs series and wanted to show my skill on a good old MTGS game. I had time too because it was the summer.
Then I replace in for kpaca and get the nice scum rand that I was NOT hoping for. I was hoping for a town role PM but people haven't seen my scum game in a while, and I feel like I understand the basics of mafia well enough to get by townread as scum. In addition, I know that I could make a strong start given that I was pretty excited for the game and was prepared to fight people with WALLS. Even though that people should have taken into account kpaca's blatantly scummy behavior while reading me, townies play scummy/inactive all the time and then get replaced by townies that KNOW how to play town. Plus, I was pretty upfront about engaging with other people over why they thought I was scum, and when you directly engage/interact with another player you find it difficult to accuse them of being scum. So that was basically my plan: To try and emulate my play from the Champs series as much as possible, try to do real time interactions with other players in order to get myself townread, and then playing to my mafia win condition along the way.
How did it go? Days 2 and 3 I virtually went unsuspected I think, aside from EL suspecting me based off of association with Wheat. With Wheat, I was going to defend him because he had a lot of townie signs in his posts, but for game health I convinced myself to lynch him to save Cantrip from finding a replacement. I made a lot of plays for game health reasons - killing Rhand N1 because he was on a cruise, lynching Wheat, killing EL after he requested replacement, in order to keep the game moving and to not have modkills/additional replacements.
I felt really bad about lynching Shinichi because if I'm town there I defend him 90% of the time and seal him off as a mislynch to scum. I also enjoyed playing with Vaimes and getting my revenge on him for Three Little Pigs Mafia where he pocketed me until he got lynched. I also enjoyed playing with RE, who I think I've played with her like 5+ times and have been scum against her being town in all of them. (We'll be town together someday, or you'll be pocketing me).
Grapefruit was definitely the town MVP and I was surprised at how "easier" the game got when we killed him. He came the closest out of everyone to solving it I think. shadow and QH were great scumbuddies as well; really enjoyed wolfing with them.
LnGrrrR I also thought played a fantastic game after replacing in; I thought he was going to be a very easy mislynch because of AGod but he was very genuinely townie after he replaced in and he made it extremely difficult to push on him, because so many of his posts felt so REAL. JT also came really close to catching me on Day 4; that was the Day I was sweating bullets to be honest because I tipped my hand a little too far regarding the bus. JT had good pressure throughout that day.
Sorry this had to come a month late but late is better than no postmortem at all.
Club Flamingo Wins: 1!

Just about sums it up...
I've read literally none of this game, but you guys let Proph win as a wolf?
Shame upon you and your families.
(Congrats to wolf team etc etc)
Let him win as a wolf when he replaced into a scummy slot that was one vote away from being lynched D1... Great shame indeed.
