My vote on Shadow was RVS, was obviously not based on a read of any kind. Osieorb agreeing with my comment and subsequently voting Shadow however looks shady, I don't think my comment was reason enough to push for a lynch. I'll respond in more depth a little late but for now, Vote: Osieorb18
I think it's a given that there is at least one scum on the wagon. In a game this size what's the suspected number of scum?
I think that while the odds prove favor, it is also quite foolish to conflate a hypothetical 80% into a 100%. Four times you win, One time you die. Is such a significant chance of death a self-advisable reality? Speaking of which, here comes DA with his recollection of a reality that does not match ours. His past self left behind no clues that would corroborate this suggestion, and in all cases it can be concluded that he is from a doomed timeline. My future self apologizes for the forthcoming image of DA, but there is nothing further regarding that matter than to rend.

If "Hmmmmm" is as cerebral as you're going to get, I may have to recant again on this game's stupidity.Do you have anything further to contribute to the post which was already pointed out as A Temporal Inconsistency, or are you simply content to "Hmmmmm" like a microwave with nothing inside?
This is generally how I feel about this game so far:
I'm not used to Voxx being like this and I feel like I'm already in Wine Hell. People being like this about him is also weird for me, tbh. It's like... when you look in a double mirror and see yourself not-mirrored and are like "who the **** am i looking at??? this is weird????"
I don't think the two week phase length is actually good for me, either. It doesn't actually feel like I'm in a game. I prefer my games to feel like something is imminently at stake, I think.. I think that what I actually want to play is 5/2... but the only site I've played on that reliably runs that phase length has been dead for a while. Rip FS.
Jenna, if you're going to be committed to RPing, I would prefer you go back to what you were doing before. Kanaya doesn't talk like that even when she isn't Typing Like This, and it's making your posts hella annoying to understand. (and if you're going to shorten people's names with pesterchum name shortening, why not like. decapitalize the first letter. come on.) (also the name shortening makes reading your posts like trying to read sheet music for me) (like seriously please stop)
Sorely tempted to just believe Shadow is town based on the fact that he got to H-2 so early in the game. I really don't think everyone who was on the wagon is town, and I don't think mafia would do that to a teammate? Plus, he's actually asking people why they're doing things, and also following up when they give their answers. It's good.
I feel like there's at least one wolf in Archon/Osieorb - Archon voted Shadow in RVS and then decided it was a real vote in #52. While it was a RVS vote at the time it was made, he felt the need to back it up with Actual Something. Now he's dismissed it as Not Actually Something That Ever Really Existed In The First Place (#102) while moving his vote to someone who agreed with him about it? Like, he's calling Osie shady for doing the same thing that he did? Does the concept of self-awareness exist here? (I would like #52 clarified if it wasn't... like,,, real?????) + Osie sheeping Archon's reasons for the vote with the near-immediate backdown after Voxx calls it out (and then? voting for voxx?) isn't that great, either. I don't think it's impossible for them to be together? but I don't think that one witch would immediately follow the other like that, especially since they're supposed to be long-time players or something... Mostly I just want them to fight each other and see what happens, tbh.
I don't understand Reaverb's reasons in #63 regarding the Archon/Shadow thing. Like, I don't think that simulposting asking someone to explain why someone else did a thing would have that effect? Also, him thinking I'm unable to read Vaimes when I correctly read him as my person-who-knows-my-role-and-alignment in another game a few months ago immediately is lol. Voxx is here, too. "Several people" does not equal "one fontisian". Wyd.
Btw, Vaimes is town, y'all. You're welcome.
I originally voted Colin for memes but I've decided that I'm not going to move my vote until he makes some actual posts. If I had more votes, Archon, Osieorb, or Reaverb would be fine, too. You can pretend I have a vote on all four of them if you want.
Ok, I know the beginning of this post said I was here now, but I actually have to go to bed now? @ me if you need anything, I guess?
There you go, Reaverb. Both of the secret players have expressed townreads on me, and I didn't even have to coerce them.
Also I'm V/LA until Sunday night.
---
DoTA wagon miiight be pure. Kinda hesitant to scumread him for it, since doing that so strongly literally almost ruined Bare Bones and I thought I was 99% right.
DoTA. DoTAAA.
Look at the people voting you and the people who'd be okay voting you and tell me if you see scum + why.
Going afk during the only time I'm available? Rude.
The concept of it being a secret that Voxx and I can read you is also extremely that image macro I posted.
I want Colin to actually show up, is the thing. Tbf, only one person voting someone usually isn't good for making them show up, but I'm going to try anyway.
I also need to actually go over votes properly besides, like, reading the the thread? Haven't had time to look at machine stuff yet.
Yup yup. Until then, got any thoughts on DoTA or Osi so far?
Sorta...Osie wagon hopping (and subsequent reasons) looks pretty bad, but I've scum read Osie in most games we've played together, so I'm currently in observation mode there.
Dota walking back his vote "oh it was just RVS" makes me raise my eyebrows. I will echo Vaimes on this one, I want to hear Dota's answers on this one.
@Vaimes: Reasonable on gimmicks (I did see that other game), and feeling some of your same malaise and the like right now.
@Reaverb Tau: What's so difficult on Vaimes? Like, he's not nearly as cryptic as other skilled players.
@Shadow: What's a meta? Is that the non-existent thing the kids are going on about these days? Are you my mommy?
@Shadow: While the wagon on you sucked (and I almost entirely voted you because of apparent hubris, probably like some others), what are your thoughts on NEVER MIND, I just read post 117.
@Colin: Why do you think that RT and Shadow have something to hide?
@Tubba Fett: You still are most convinced that A Bear is scum out of anyone here? Why?
@King Torg: How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
@Voxx: Why are you being so opportunistic? First in 34 with your vote reasoning, then 65 with your response to KT, then going with the crowd in 91.
@Reaverb Tau: Nah, if you were a Killjoy, then we'd have a Jester, and setup suggests that there's no neutrals in this game.
@Jenna: No malice towards Shadow. In fact, I like sharing a cup of tea with him. Do you want to join us?
@Voxx: Re: Post 92 - What am I reading here? This sounds like it could be an argument for either scum Vaimes or town Vaimes…
@Shadow: Do you not believe in a world where exactly one of Vaimes or Voxx is scum?
@Tubba Fett: The ghost panda standing in your kitchen is indicative of scum behaviour.
@Shadow: Why Tubba town? Seriously.
@DoTA: Don't worry, I'm not mindmelding with you any more. What are you cooking? Poison?
@Jenna: In addition to the retrograde variation, the two-score and four declaration of nescience propounds deleterious predeterminations. Incidentally, your five-score and three is phenomenal.
@A Bear: I got nothing for you. I just wanted to @ your username. Well, I guess here goes: What do you think of Vaimes's fishy pun? Also, the game should speed up a bit especially closer to the deadline, and as it goes on. RVS is generally not this slow, though, so what do I know?
@Shadow: Funny. I've scumread you for at least a bit of the game in every game that we've been in too. And that's the majority of games I've been in on the forum (I may have signed up for at least one of them seeing you were there, though… ). This game I basically just started actively reading people in the past couple days and you're looking pretty good (Oh, my...), not that that precludes a scumread on you in the future. I'm leaning a DotA-Voxx team right now, with the addition of one of Colin or Tubba. Thoughts?
@Colin: Why do you think that RT and Shadow have something to hide?
RT was for the terrible second post. That level of self-awareness and self-policing is highly indicative of mafia. This read is reinforced, as I am not happy with RTs recent posts. I feel like RT is trying to come across as town, rather than posting naturally. That's more of a tonal read than a content read, but altogether it brings me to the conclusion that I've got a wolf in RT.
shadow's was mostly tonal at the time. I think there was a couple of specific minor things I didn't like, but it was mostly a gut feeling that he was reacting to the wagon on him as a mafia who had been caught and was genuinely worried. On my re-read I'll see how I feel about shadow.
In other news ...
In my experience people who say they're scum are often actually scum. So, here's looking at you Torg. (#98)
JT's 'Acts of Capitalisation' are clouding my ability to read them.
I'm releasing a bit of a sigh of relief as I'm fairly confident on Bear being town. She's definitely one of the towniest people around here right now. I just need my boy Foopme to come and show me he's town too. The rest of you I have no baseline on, so it makes it a little trickier.
I'll be more active over the weekend. I'm heading to bed now though.
I feel like there's at least one wolf in Archon/Osieorb - Archon voted Shadow in RVS and then decided it was a real vote in #52. While it was a RVS vote at the time it was made, he felt the need to back it up with Actual Something. Where in #52 did I confirm that my vote was serious? I mentioned that his comment came across as cocky but I was just looking to engage with him about it. I did not expect a wagon to form and reach L-2, and Osieorb's comment that I had a good point (which I didn't) comes across to me as scum piggybacking onto the wagon so he can point out later that it was my reasoning that caused a mislynch.
What initially got my attention is that Shadow says he has never been lynched regardless of alignment except for that one time, and then later says that the game where he was lynched he was scum. So why not say I've never been lynched as town instead? It's not a good enough reason to push for a lynch but the wording does seem a bit odd to me.
@Voxx: You've said the Shadow wagon is bad, and asked that people analyse it, yet your vote is still there from your "Vote Shadow, Wagons!" post. What's up with that?
There you go, Reaverb. Both of the secret players have expressed townreads on me, and I didn't even have to coerce them.
Also I'm V/LA until Sunday night.

DoTA. DoTAAA.
Look at the people voting you and the people who'd be okay voting you and tell me if you see scum + why.
Of the three voting me, I'm having difficulty in deciphering Jenna's posts, Tau's vote looks reasonable given his explanation as to why he's voting me, and I'm not sure about Torg. I would like for Torg to explain why he unvoted Tau without saying anything about it.
You;ve played a few games with me now and know how easily I'm lynched, do you think there's scum on my wagon?
@DoTA: Don't worry, I'm not mindmelding with you any more. What are you cooking? Poison?
@Shadow: Funny. I've scumread you for at least a bit of the game in every game that we've been in too. Made a bacon and tomato pasta for dinner, it was good.
What makes you think that Voxx and I are aligned?
What have Colin/Tubba done that puts them on your radar as potential scum?
@AB: Of course I am not Kanaya or playing as Kanaya. What you see is myself. The game channels my inner Kanaya, and chiding me for not "roleplaying" her or following specific conventions universally thereof is preposterous.
@OO: In 85, there is no cage. You seem to believe there is one, though, so I'll entertain the thought: I don't.
@Osie
My Bear vote was just an RVS vote. I can't respond to ghost panda's infiltrating my kitchen, because I'm just not sure what you're asking/telling me. I'm pretty sure you're just flailing at this point. Vote:Osie
Notes:
Tubba Fett's vote in #124 is uncounted due to the lack of a space (" ") between the colon (":") and the player's name ("Osie").
Vaimes and Voxxicus are V/LA until Sunday. Foopme should return from V/LA today.
Due to several players being unable to participate fully during the week, I am entertaining the idea of extending Day 1 by 48 hours, moving Night Phases to Mondays and Tuesdays (absent an early hammer, of course). Please inform me via PM or Discord DM if this change would be better, worse, or change nothing for you.
@Osie

Basically: He has an RVS vote, notes something scummy on DotArchon, then votes what's basically another RVS vote instead of moving to DotArchon.
Particularly since "flailing" doesn't accurately describe Osie, they have several clear opinions once you read though there bizarre post restrictions.
This doesn't effect my read on DotArchon because it could be either setting up for a potential bus or trying to push a mislynch without getting on.
----
@Osie
Here is what has happened to me in my past games with Vaimes:
Reaverb: Vote Vaimes because I'm townreading everybody else alive
Other people: Noooo Vaimes is Town
Reaverb: Why?
Other people: He seems happy
Reaverb: Couldn't he just do that as scum?
Other people: Yes but he doesn't.
Osie, what is your definition of RVS? Also, why do you think that Archon/Voxx/(Colin/Tubba) are together? Also also, I don't know where the pun is.
Good question; probably "the stage of the game at which most people act based primarily on lack of information."
Oh, that's purely where they are in my reads. I haven't pondered teams enough yet to be sure. DoTA and Voxx are the only players who were at scumlean, and therefore the scummiest. I had Colin, Tubba, and Empoof as vaguely scummy with not enough info to really go on, especially for Empoof, though Colin's 119 shifts him more towards town.
Osieorb's comment that I had a good point (which I didn't) comes across to me as scum piggybacking onto the wagon so he can point out later that it was my reasoning that caused a mislynch.
What have Colin/Tubba done that puts them on your radar as potential scum?
Colin's looking better. That was mostly a tonal read since I was meh on both of his first two posts.
TF's posts pre-118 amount to: 47 RVS, 95 Useless, 99 Using a lot of Words to say nothing, 104 Literally just "Hmmmmm…", 106 Joke, 107 I was actually contributing!
Come to think of it, TF seems like the scummiest of the scummy as of this moment. Once I'm done with catchup, I'll see how I feel about things, but I'm pretty sure I can comfortably
Vote: Tubba Fett

@Jenna Tolaria: No comprehension of perception of cautionary response? Hmph. Either you're audacious, feckless, or naive. I'm inclined to the second, but willing to consider the first. I really hope it's not the last. If it's the first, good luck with that. Second, why? Do you have that much confidence? Last, that's unfortunate.
—————
@Tubba Fett: I don't flail. Just ask Shadow.
—————
OH HEY, mindmelding with Reaverb Tau! I like it.
———————————
I'm falling asleep at the keyboard, so let's end this quickly with a readlist:
Town:
Osieorb18
Townlean (no particular order):
shadowlancerx
Vaimes
Reaverb Tau
A Bear
Light townlean without enough info:
Colin
Neutral (in order for now):
Jenna Tolaria
DoTArchon
Light scumlean without enough info:
King Torg
Empoof
Scumlean:
Voxxicus
Light Scumread:
Tubba Fett
Keep in mind that any of those reads could change at the drop of a hat.
Okay, okay. It's not quite right to leave it at just that.
Shadow started early on prodding people, and has been thinking positively. Doesn't seem to be trying to manipulate anyone, either.
I didn't care for some of Vaimes's start, but he does seem to want to think about the game if not for lack of participation at times. Vaimes scum is a tinfoil for me right now, but I'm leaning town.
Minus the over-explaining of RVS, I had a very light tonal town read on Reaverb Tau. This because a townlean with a mindmeld in post 128.
Not a great start, but half their posts have been quite good, and the other half have been useless, so I'm putting them in townleans for the moment.
Post 46 was meh to bad. Post 51 was NAI, and enjoyable. Post 119 was solid. Not quite sure what to think, but 119 was very good, so I'm going with the lightest of townleans.
I want to townread them, but then they turn around and act awkward and over-defensive in a strangely incautious way. Fingers crossed for feckless town. Oh, and I'm sure this comment looks ironic to some.
I like that he questioned the over-elaboration (though he was ninja'd by Shadow). Post 44 was oddly unmotivated. Post 45 is not bad. I agreed with 52, especially on Shadow seeming cocky. 57 could be good, but could just be good acting. Then, out of nowhere, 102! I feel set up… And then 121 he is seemingly trying again. I was pushing towards scum somewhat based on visceral reactions to 44, 57, and lack of reasoning (not the vote) in 102, but I could go either way.
It feels like he's just trying to say stuff on the pretense of being a part of things.
Need real content.
Decent start, then voting Shadow for a terrible declared reason, and the really gross post 65. Posts 91 and 92 seem… fake. I think Voxx is secretly fake news. Sad.
See pseudo-PBAP earlier in this post. TF is a smorgasbord of scum. Useless, Fake News, Defensive… It's like I'm watching Van Helsing, except instead of the monsters it's scumtells.
And… I think that's everyone!
Happy World Octopus Day to all, and to all a Good Night!
So I'm scum because I pointed out two other players acting scummy... I really don't understand this game. If Dot and Osie's behaviour on Shadow's wagon aren't slightly scumspicious than I must be as dumb as Jenna thinks am I.
The Shadow wagon has been the biggest thing that's happened in the game so far, let's look at that. Vaimes, Dot, Osie and Voxx vote Shadow in seeming RVS. Vaimes moves on with another RVS vote as does Osie. Dot makes a big deal about Shadow's arrogance, Osie gets back on the wagon citing Dot's Point. Jenna votes Shadow at this point with no reasoning and when questioned states that Vaimes is scum but only has one vote. Jenna why did you vote Shadow in the first place? Why do you think Vaimes is scum? Tory and Voxx describe voting Shadow for those reasons as "not a good reason to kill someone, and absurdly toxic". Osie jumps off the wagon stating Shadow's arrogance isn't enough to get him lynched.
Dots next post has him getting off the wagon and backtracking on his big deal about Shadow's behaviour, and he uses the opportunity to smear (bus?) Osie.
The Shadow wagon has all but disintegrated leaving Voxx's assumed RVS vote.
It'll be interesting to see who the next wagon starts on and who is on it together.
It'll be interesting to see who the next wagon starts on and who is on it together.
The ghost panda could use some Claritin. The Niagara Falls are coming out of its face from being allergic to scumtells. You might want to replace the chair.

@Jenna Tolaria:
1. What are your current thoughts on Vaimes?
2. Could you please expound on where you're coming from on the following quotes?
King Torg is someone I wouldn't trust with a secret.
Unless, you are suggesting I express personal reasons outside of my Words On A Screen, in which I must respectfully decline. I don't feel it is acceptable to ask anyone for... Words Beyond A Screen.
do not need An Explanation For Your Actions.
3. Death spiral? Lol, what?
———————
@Shadowlancerx:
Maybe I'm just paranoid about this after seeing it in that other game, but do you think that Jenna's playing into that scumteam's paradigm, or legitimately doesn't have input?
Also, for your viewing pleasure…
———————
@Voxxicus: The more I look, the more unfair I feel I've been to you with the degree to which I scumread you based on gut…
Town. Don't want to comment further right now, if they're scum they wouldn't have had a chance to talk to their teammates, which is why I tried to engage with them specifically.
@ Osie So the behaviour wasn't scummy, I'm just a moronic knob punching away at a keyboard. Good to know. So you're cleared because I don't want to be insulted again, tell me this. Do you think scum would have a vote on Shadow somewhere in the five people that were on the wagon? If you do, who is your most likely suspect? If not, I'll just mosey back to the corner with my dunce cap.
Town. Don't want to comment further right now, if they're scum they wouldn't have had a chance to talk to their teammates, which is why I tried to engage with them specifically.
That assumes there's no non-kill Night 0. But certainly throughout the day they wouldn't.
I'd say Vaimes seems like the least likely; it feels like there is too much town to go on. Probably Jenna would be my first pick there at the moment. Voxx would run a close second, but I also want to hear more from Voxx. I feel that as the starting point of the wagon, DoTA is contextually separate, actually. Like, his presence is noted, but not nearly as relevant, unless there's two scum in that group.
That assumes there's no non-kill Night 0. But certainly throughout the day they wouldn't.
"Night 0" is actually mentioned in the early mod posts, so I assume that scum actually did have some sort of pre-game chat.
Could you talk more about your read on Jenna? Particularly why they're "awkward and over-defensive". Feel free to wait until they answer the questions you asked them.
@Jenna
Yes, you did. I see it now. I don't understand it, but I see it.😝
@Tau
I waited to vote, because I like to wait to vote I guess. I like to think about where I'm putting my vote and why I want to put it there.
Osie's vote seemed scummier to me because it came after Dot brought up Shadow's arrogance. Osie was the first one off the wagon when people started to discuss it.
That's why I voted that slot.
There are people I don't know in this game. @Reaverb Tau, A Bear, King Torg, Jenna Tolaria, Colin: Mafia experience please? (If you answer at somepoint in the thread you don't need to again. I'm just too lazy to come back here and erase your names)
Vaimes, Cuddly TeddyG
Legendary Creature - Bear Liposting (M)
Trample G: Switch Vaimes's power and toughness until the beginning of the next end step. Why is everyone so afraid of me? - Vaimes, Cuddly Teddy
1/3
I'm mildly confused by this. Cuddly Teddy seems like you think he's pulling punches or something (possibly with regard to Voxx, or the whole game in general?), Bear Liposting seems like you're saying he's not posting a lot (maybe you think he should be posting more?), and Trample and the flavor text seems like you think he's usually very aggressive.
Basically, I'm asking if this means you think he's normally more agressive and posts a bunch, but he's not doing that this game? Is that interpretation correct?
I must say, I find all of this very disconcerting. On previous occasions that I have been invited to a gathering such as this, I've never been presented with such a horrific scene. Here we all are seeking wealth, status and glory and instead we are bearing witness to this awful event.
Whichever foul cretin has been a party to create such circumstance in the most shameful of ways will truly rue the day they involved themselves as such.
Everyone knows that the Butler did it, it is a universal law. It has been the case in every single mysterious murder I have attended previously. I may as well put on my hat and parade around like a lunatic if this is the sort of uncouth behaviour to be exhibited here. Shame upon you for commiting such a foul act.
It is clear to me that some of you are hysterical in reaction to what has unfolded here tonight. Like osieorb18, reduced to babbling like a mad person.
Others clearly have something to hide. Like Reaverb Tau and shadowlancerx.
The majority just seem stunned in to silence. It is understandable, such events may not be a common sight to many of you folk. Just take a seat and have a cup of strong tea. Everything will fine. (However, even I find it a little unusual that there is a living, breathing bear here).
This... is probably the most entertaining post I've read on a mafia forum in quite a while. Thank you.
I don't think voting Shadow makes sense. I disagree with his point on Voxx in #41 and #50, but I fail to see the scum-motivation for it (I don't see Vox getting mislynched on page 1 either). I like his game-solving when interacting with Vaimes and myself. L-2 this early strikes me as crazy.
I agree here. I'm actually getting kinda town vibes from him.
In the meantime, I would really appreciate if people talked about Shadow, the wagon on him, and particularly, the people who voted him for basically "scary wolf plz lynch".
I'd like to see people actually display something resembling a thought process and try to figure out alignments, for me to come back to.
Voting me is pretty dumb though given I'll be obviously town and dead before d3, if not d2.
Well, I was thinking that the people that both decided that voting him because scary wolf probably aren't aligned. I feel like, unless the second only read up to that shadow post, voted, then stopped reading... probs not both scum.
That said, there's probably scum on the wagon somewhere. Almost half the game was on him at some point. Odds and the Law of Average would make me think ONE (maybe two, but idk probs not?) of them is scum.
I'll give one nugget though before I go since it's unrelated to the tangle I want people to talk about - Vaimes is probably town.
1) I'm town, and if he rolled scum, he'd know that
2) Pretty sure scum Vaimes would be scared *****less of me
3) He blatantly admitted to trying to figure out if I was scum reading him or not
4) He just voted me in incredibly lazy fashion to make things happen
5) He's not trying to really figure anything out himself
Like, Town Vaimes knows I'm never going to mislynch him regardless of my alignment - so this kind of lazy early game play meshes pretty heavily with that. It does not mesh with someone who knows I'm town and is terrified I'll eviscerate him if he does something scummy.
(Possible wifom-based counterpoint - Vaimes knows I'm a sucker for people scum reading me because I don't think wolves generally have the testicular fortitude to do so)
This HAS to be a meta read, which prompts my question: How confident are you?
And with regards to the "people scumreading you" thing, how do you feel about Osie?
King Torg is someone I wouldn't trust with a secret.
First of all, I'm offended! I'm great at keeping secrets! (which is why none of you know I'm scum)
Second, Dota's comments in 52 worry me. That's not the kind of logic an experienced town player should use to justify a lynch. Vote: DoTArchon.
Hm.
KT, explain what you think scum!DoTa is thinking when making this post?
--Osie's 118 is just... so many questions.In a seperate post at some point in the future, I'll go into the relevent ones individually. Not right now though.--
I feel like there's at least one wolf in Archon/Osieorb - Archon voted Shadow in RVS and then decided it was a real vote in #52.
Hm. Explain why this is more than semantics, please. Why does this come from scum vs. town?
@OO: In 85, there is no cage. You seem to believe there is one, though, so I'll entertain the thought: I don't.
Hm. Do you have opinions on Osie's alignment right now? If so, what is it? Nevermind, just read 127. So I'll change the question to: given his behavior, who is his most likely scumbuddy and why?
Now, lets do this: Vote Osieorb. That's never been wrong before. [/sarcasm]
KoolKoal: Feel free to take this with a grain of salt since self meta isn't particularly helpful, but I think I get scumread mostly for style over substance, but also for a certain lack of substance over style. It's not so much what I AM posting most of the time (though sometimes that can seem bad) but what I'm NOT posting. I've been told I come to non-obvious conclusions a lot, so when I post, quite a bit of the time there's jumps in logic that people can't follow and they think that's scummy. I get that accusation about a lot of questions I ask specifically. People call them "busy work" when the questions are legit etc.
As far as things to ignore, I can't think of anything. I would suggest you focus less on what I'm doing and more on how I'm doing it. That's probably more likely to be accurate. Like I've just said, what I do tends to come off a little weird, but if you look for how I do it, mindset comes into play and maybe you figure out something useful.
It feels like he's just trying to say stuff on the pretense of being a part of things.
I mean, I guess that's true? If I posted more content, I'd say you were straw-manning my arguments. As is though, I'm not sure what purpose this part of your post holds. Any opinions on whether I'm town or scum?
@Killjoy I played the newb mafia game on this site, and it kinda sucked, so I'm giving it another shot in this game. That's it.
I don't really know what scum!DoTA would be trying with that post, but I know that it's not a town move at all. There's no way an experienced player like DoTA would just hop on an L-3 wagon with the justification that "shadow is scary." My best guess is that he was trying to generate negative shadow vibes for a future myslynch or something like that.

"When I'm sad, I stop being sad and be awesome instead. True story"
-Barney Stinson
Could you talk more about your read on Jenna? Particularly why they're "awkward and over-defensive". Feel free to wait until they answer the questions you asked them.
We have a vote for Shadow, which is either RVS or wagon jumping, then a post shading Vaimes, followed by a vote on Vaimes in the next post after pressured. We have "I don't trust anybody," followed by a pretty good post about DoTA. The second half of the next post and the entirety of the following post are seemingly evasive for no clear reason. Then we have a post which looks clever, and is, but is also just for the sake of throwing dirt at DoTA. This is followed by an easy poke at a bad post by Tubba and a Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious post ("void of input"). Then we have more dodging the question (I don't care about the Kanaya bit) and a seemingly fluff post about a legislacerator. We then have two posts from someone who is convinced on who the lynch should be, the latter of which includes more dodging of questions and a silly comment about the game state and death spirals That's all that Jenna's posted for now.
I'm not sure why there's so much dodging of questions by Jenna, but it's really bugging me.
No. It's basically just a joke ; the point was to draw a contrast between the impression of him as scary and the impression of him as not so scary. Vaimes is a talented and sometimes aggressive player, though, and I was trying to make a legitimate mythic, so the card is strong, and aggressive.
--Osie's 118 is just... so many questions.In a seperate post at some point in the future, I'll go into the relevent ones individually. Not right now though.--
I mean, I guess that's true? If I posted more content, I'd say you were straw-manning my arguments. As is though, I'm not sure what purpose this part of your post holds. Any opinions on whether I'm town or scum?
My statement was that you hadn't posted enough to really go on but that based on what you had posted, I had a very light scumlean, because it didn't seem like there was much to see even in the content that was there.
Hm. Explain why this is more than semantics, please. Why does this come from scum vs. town?
It is just semantics, I never once said Shadow was scum. If my RVS vote had been on any other player and I'd asked Shadow the same thing I doubt I'd be catching as much flak for this, but a number of people seem to believe that I was trying to justify my voting for Shadow. It was coincidence that my RVS vote happened to be on the same person that posted something that looked strange to me.
It feels like he's just trying to say stuff on the pretense of being a part of things.
Hi. I think you have me confused with somebody else on two counts here:
1) I'm not what anyone would call an experienced player. I have only played in a couple of games on this site, and only two off site. If you want to meta-dive me I'd be glad to provide a list of links to the games I've played.
2)I did not "hop on an L-3 wagon with the justification that "shadow is scary."", mine was the first vote on Shadow back in RVS. Where did you get the idea that I was the one who put him at L-2?
Notes:
If your vote is uncounted and I didn't say why, please PM me or DM me on discord so I can investigate.
Vaimes and Voxxicus should return from V/LA today.
I have only received a few messages about extension preference. Please get back to me as soon as possible so I can make a decision.
@Tau
Then why did you vote A Bear in #47? That seems inconsistent with "liking to wait to vote".
Why didn't you bring up Osie at the same time as DotA, instead waiting some time before bringing it up?
-----
@Killjoy{/b] I've played a couple dozen games I think? I've never actually counted.
Why do you think that one post is enough to read Vox? Is it some sort of meta read?
What was your criteria for picking the particular posts you did to respond to on your catch-up?
It feels like he's just trying to say stuff on the pretense of being a part of things.
I mean, I guess that's true? If I posted more content, I'd say you were straw-manning my arguments. As is though, I'm not sure what purpose this part of your post holds.
This seems too blatant to be malicious so let me give you some advice: don't post just to post, always try to find or lynch the mafia in every post. "Posting just to post" is scum/wolf/mafia behavior.
Jenna-
I like #73's point on DoTA which I didn't notice until they pointed it out and I don't think #103 is likely to come from scum (Either Vox is co-aligned scum or known Town pushing "one of the dudes on this wagon is scum" and instead of trying to doubtcast their wagon-mates they try to dispel the entire motion) I am a bit concerned about their question dodging (which I was intentionally not bringing up until Osie mentioned it).
Vaimes-
Town-reading on tone, he does sound like Town!Vaimes. This drives me up the wall even though I know it's almost certainly correct.
Colin, Vox, A Bear, and Killjoy haven't posted enough to get reads and should post more.
Osie and shadow are both sleb/null despite posting.
Osie -
Osie is doing things that seem related to solving in the big picture but I disagree with many of their posts/points in execution (although occasionally there is a concurrence such as on TubbaFett and Jenna's question dodging) and their reads in #129 strike me as strange and very nitpicky, but having them at all is good. I don't want to lynch them toDay at least.
shadow -
shadow is clearly capable of faking his points if he is scum. I don't think the wagon on him makes him Town - I think there were almost certainly scum on it, but I think if shadow he may have asked his partner(s) to do some distancing early. shadow was never in any actual danger of dying. If this is the case there are likely two scum on the wagon, Vox's discussion of the wagon could be an agenda push and I want to look closer at Jenna.
SCUM:
DoTA -
DoTA's explanation that his point on shadow was independent to his RVS vote (#145) is tangential to fact it was a scummy point to make. I also didn't like how he tried to establish himself as a newer player, that seems like giving himself an excuse for scummy behaviors later on.
TubbaFett-
Covered in #128, haven't liked their activity since (such as #130 being almost entirely info without analysis)
------
Would like other players to chime in TubbaFett, before or after he answers my questions is fine.
@Tau
My bear vote was strictly RVS, there is nothing more to it.
There hadn't been a whole lot of serious content prior to my vote on Osie. The wagon on Shadow was the most significant thing happening at the time, and (imo) odds have at least one scum on that wagon. The scummiest behaviour on that wagon was Osie's. Dot's is a close second, but following along with his crummy reason to lynch Shadow seems worse. Once King and Voxx mention how bad it is, Osie is the first to jump. That's when I felt pretty good voting that slot, but the deadline was miles away so it seemed fine to wait and see what else happened.
Your read on my sequence is wrong. My Osie vote was never RVS, but a vote on the slot that seemed the most scummy to me.
What do you think about Dot/Osie's play on the Shadow wagon? Was there scum on the wagon, if so, who?

Unvote
My vote on Shadow was RVS, was obviously not based on a read of any kind. Osieorb agreeing with my comment and subsequently voting Shadow however looks shady, I don't think my comment was reason enough to push for a lynch. I'll respond in more depth a little late but for now,
Vote: Osieorb18
Hmmmmm...
So everyone will post more this weekend, right?
Yup yup. Until then, got any thoughts on DoTA or Osi so far?

Colin, Reaverb Tau, and Osieorb18 have been prodded.
A Bear is V/LA until Friday. Foopme is V/LA until Saturday. Voxxicus is V/LA until Sunday(ish).
Note: The votecounter has been restored to its former glory. You may resume placing your votes wheresoever you wish.
Also I'm V/LA until Sunday night.
---
DoTA wagon miiight be pure. Kinda hesitant to scumread him for it, since doing that so strongly literally almost ruined Bare Bones and I thought I was 99% right.
DoTA. DoTAAA.
Look at the people voting you and the people who'd be okay voting you and tell me if you see scum + why.
for the weekend aesthetic.
Also 'cause a bear smells fishy.
Dota walking back his vote "oh it was just RVS" makes me raise my eyebrows. I will echo Vaimes on this one, I want to hear Dota's answers on this one.
Vaimes, what is fishy about bear?
@Vaimes: Reasonable on gimmicks (I did see that other game), and feeling some of your same malaise and the like right now.
@Reaverb Tau: What's so difficult on Vaimes? Like, he's not nearly as cryptic as other skilled players.
@Shadow: What's a meta? Is that the non-existent thing the kids are going on about these days? Are you my mommy?
@Shadow: While the wagon on you sucked (and I almost entirely voted you because of apparent hubris, probably like some others),
what are your thoughts onNEVER MIND, I just read post 117.@Colin: Why do you think that RT and Shadow have something to hide?
@Shadow: What are YOU doing?
@Shadow:
@Jenna: Why so cagey in Post 85?
@Voxx: Re: Post 92 - What am I reading here? This sounds like it could be an argument for either scum Vaimes or town Vaimes…
@Shadow: Do you not believe in a world where exactly one of Vaimes or Voxx is scum?
@Tubba Fett: The ghost panda standing in your kitchen is indicative of scum behaviour.
@Shadow: Why Tubba town? Seriously.
Thoughts?
Colin, can you give more than one line each on your reads that aren't Reaverb or Shadow? How do you feel about Archon and Osie?
Shadow, it was Jenna and I who called Archon out for doing that, not Vaimes...
Of the three voting me, I'm having difficulty in deciphering Jenna's posts, Tau's vote looks reasonable given his explanation as to why he's voting me, and I'm not sure about Torg. I would like for Torg to explain why he unvoted Tau without saying anything about it.
You;ve played a few games with me now and know how easily I'm lynched, do you think there's scum on my wagon?
Made a bacon and tomato pasta for dinner, it was good.
What makes you think that Voxx and I are aligned?
What have Colin/Tubba done that puts them on your radar as potential scum?
@OO: In 85, there is no cage. You seem to believe there is one, though, so I'll entertain the thought: I don't.
My Bear vote was just an RVS vote. I can't respond to ghost panda's infiltrating my kitchen, because I'm just not sure what you're asking/telling me. I'm pretty sure you're just flailing at this point.
Vote:Osie
DoTArchon - 3 (Reaverb Tau, Jenna Tolaria, King Torg)
A Bear - 2 (Tubba Fett, Vaimes)
Voxxicus - 2 (shadowlancerx, osieorb18)
Colin - 1 (A Bear)
osieorb18 - 1 (DoTArchon)
shadowlancerx - 1 (Voxxicus)
Not Voting - 2 (Colin, Foopme)
With 12 alive, it takes 7 to lynch. Day 1 ends at 11:59 on 13 October 2017.
Vote: Tubba Fett
This sequence is horrible:
Basically: He has an RVS vote, notes something scummy on DotArchon, then votes what's basically another RVS vote instead of moving to DotArchon.
Particularly since "flailing" doesn't accurately describe Osie, they have several clear opinions once you read though there bizarre post restrictions.
This doesn't effect my read on DotArchon because it could be either setting up for a potential bus or trying to push a mislynch without getting on.
----
@Osie
Never actually played against Vaimes-scum
—————
@DoTArchon
I'm not nearly that manipulative, sorry.
See my second point to A Bear, above.
—————
Osieorb18
Townlean (no particular order):
shadowlancerx
Vaimes
Reaverb Tau
A Bear
Light townlean without enough info:
Colin
Neutral (in order for now):
Jenna Tolaria
DoTArchon
Light scumlean without enough info:
King Torg
Empoof
Scumlean:
Voxxicus
Light Scumread:
Tubba Fett
Keep in mind that any of those reads could change at the drop of a hat.
Okay, okay. It's not quite right to leave it at just that.
And… I think that's everyone!
Happy World Octopus Day to all, and to all a Good Night!
The Shadow wagon has all but disintegrated leaving Voxx's assumed RVS vote.
It'll be interesting to see who the next wagon starts on and who is on it together.
@OO: In all cases you express no suspicion, only explanations for my innocence.
OO, DA, and TF appear to be locked in a death spiral, seeking to not be the trio's first.
If you think Osie is scum for similar reasons as you had on DoTA in #107, why did you wait until #124 to vote or comment on them?
*Sip* Ahh, a fine Cabernet.
Why, thank you! I think. What are your thoughts on Jenna?
———————
@Tubba Fett
Well, that's clear.
In RVS? I mean, I guess I see where you're going with this. But you're wrong, scum, or both.
But not the only thing…
The ghost panda could use some Claritin. The Niagara Falls are coming out of its face from being allergic to scumtells. You might want to replace the chair.

@Jenna Tolaria:
1. What are your current thoughts on Vaimes?
2. Could you please expound on where you're coming from on the following quotes?
3. Death spiral? Lol, what?
———————
@Shadowlancerx:
Thoughts on each of Jenna, Tubba, and DoTA?
That assumes there's no non-kill Night 0. But certainly throughout the day they wouldn't.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
@Tubba Fett:
Whoa there, I didn't say anything to that effect. Calm down.
The chance is in the high 80s that there was scum on that wagon given 3 scum... So yes.
I'm not sure... Out of
DoTArchon, Vaimes, Voxxicus, Jenna
I'd say Vaimes seems like the least likely; it feels like there is too much town to go on. Probably Jenna would be my first pick there at the moment. Voxx would run a close second, but I also want to hear more from Voxx. I feel that as the starting point of the wagon, DoTA is contextually separate, actually. Like, his presence is noted, but not nearly as relevant, unless there's two scum in that group.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
@Shadowlancerx:
Stay safe. Real life comes first.
Could you talk more about your read on Jenna? Particularly why they're "awkward and over-defensive". Feel free to wait until they answer the questions you asked them.
Yes, you did. I see it now. I don't understand it, but I see it.😝
@Tau
Why did you ask this? What was it's purpose?
Voxx probs town.
This... is probably the most entertaining post I've read on a mafia forum in quite a while. Thank you.
Maybe Lara Croft (after being paid by the mafia) locked him in a freezer?
I agree here. I'm actually getting kinda town vibes from him.
I don't think I like this vote.
Have you never played with Voxx before?
Well, I was thinking that the people that both decided that voting him because scary wolf probably aren't aligned. I feel like, unless the second only read up to that shadow post, voted, then stopped reading... probs not both scum.
That said, there's probably scum on the wagon somewhere. Almost half the game was on him at some point. Odds and the Law of Average would make me think ONE (maybe two, but idk probs not?) of them is scum.
This HAS to be a meta read, which prompts my question: How confident are you?
And with regards to the "people scumreading you" thing, how do you feel about Osie?
Hm.
KT, explain what you think scum!DoTa is thinking when making this post?
--Osie's 118 is just... so many questions.In a seperate post at some point in the future, I'll go into the relevent ones individually. Not right now though.--
Hm. Explain why this is more than semantics, please. Why does this come from scum vs. town?
Hm. Do you have opinions on Osie's alignment right now? If so, what is it? Nevermind, just read 127. So I'll change the question to: given his behavior, who is his most likely scumbuddy and why?
Now, lets do this: Vote Osieorb. That's never been wrong before. [/sarcasm]

Sure! I'll gladly elaborate.
If you look at Jenna's posts…
Starting from the beginning (the bottom ):
I didn't know I counted as someone you know. By the way, HI KILLJOY!
I'm coming to that conclusion the more I look at his posts; that the ones I found to be good are too good for the bad ones to outweigh them.
No. It's basically just a joke ; the point was to draw a contrast between the impression of him as scary and the impression of him as not so scary. Vaimes is a talented and sometimes aggressive player, though, and I was trying to make a legitimate mythic, so the card is strong, and aggressive.
Okay… I guess…
Or something like that.
My statement was that you hadn't posted enough to really go on but that based on what you had posted, I had a very light scumlean, because it didn't seem like there was much to see even in the content that was there.
Where did you get the idea that I was the one who put him at L-2?
osieorb18 - 3 (DoTArchon, Tubba Fett, Killjoy)
DoTArchon - 2 (Jenna Tolaria, King Torg)
Tubba Fett - 2 (Reaverb Tau, osieorb18)
A Bear - 1 (Vaimes)
Colin - 1 (A Bear)
shadowlancerx - 1 (Voxxicus)
Voxxicus - 1 (shadowlancerx)
Not Voting - 1 (Colin)
With 12 alive, it takes 7 to lynch. Day 1 ends at 11:59 on 13 October 2017.
If your vote is uncounted and I didn't say why, please PM me or DM me on discord so I can investigate.
Vaimes and Voxxicus should return from V/LA today.
I have only received a few messages about extension preference. Please get back to me as soon as possible so I can make a decision.
Deadline is hereby extended until 11:59:59 on 15 October 2017.
-----------
@King Torg{/b
This seems too blatant to be malicious so let me give you some advice: don't post just to post, always try to find or lynch the mafia in every post. "Posting just to post" is scum/wolf/mafia behavior.
-----
Town:
Jenna-
I like #73's point on DoTA which I didn't notice until they pointed it out and I don't think #103 is likely to come from scum (Either Vox is co-aligned scum or known Town pushing "one of the dudes on this wagon is scum" and instead of trying to doubtcast their wagon-mates they try to dispel the entire motion) I am a bit concerned about their question dodging (which I was intentionally not bringing up until Osie mentioned it).
Vaimes-
Town-reading on tone, he does sound like Town!Vaimes.
