Geeze, after the reread the only person that kind of worries me is vaimes. His vote on Tom just felt wrong.
I agree with that vote feeling wrong.
And you managed to get Tom to give some thoughts on Vaimes so I'm impressed.
@Vez Rod is my top scum read with a bullet. I don't have a strong second one at this point. 36 hours ago I would have said tom but I'm not feeling that now.
Who do you feel has been non fluffy and committed to reads at this stage?
Scum are more likely to react adversely to there name being mentioned (rezombied getting the name wrong).
Scum can be more reactive than proactive, especially if they are lurking (His second post)
What is the difference between reactive and proactive, in your words? And why is the name thing enough to unvote?
@tom: Nothing strong enough to be a vote yet.
I'd rather look at the others first and not have my vote on anyone after being given different information to what I believed.
Reactive: Won't really look into stuff, will react when mentioned, won't research
Proactive: Researches, analyses etc.

I am also called Riku. I tend to prefer being called riku.
For all we know, the mafia can target people based on whether or not they're Human or Ecto or something.
I can't fathom wanting to claim anything that isn't guaranteed to help, on Day 1, in a closed setup, before we have flipped scum roles, or when someone is at L-2. Unless you can walk me through exactly how flavorclaiming will help town and/or harm the mafia.
Im sorry, but I’m pretty sure Ecto is just Scum, is there anyone that’s town AND ecto? I doubt it.
1. Reread the rules.
2. No, I will not derp clear you for this.

OK, then how is that reactive? Only one of those is responding to being named - the others are commentary, observations, questions.

Peter Venkman showed a sadistic side in the beginning of the film, continuously shocking the male test subject during an "experiment" that he didn't seem to take seriously. I think it's unlikely that Venkman could be a killer, I wouldn't rule it out offhand. Im not against claiming, but we're so far off script, I'm not sure how useful it would be.

Every time I read your posts it just seems like you are leaving yourself an out for every single thing you are saying.

Going after people with only a single post never ends well, Highroller. It's much more efficient to look at the people who've at least gotten past there first post. Which means, I'm going to look at the people with slightly higher post counts next.
@Vez It's D1 and we're 7 pages in. One shouldn't be set in their ways at this point. I feel like having 3 firm town reads and a firm scum read is pretty committed.
@Tubba his progression on tom feels incredibly fake. Like just completely made up in a way that screams scum to me. Ask me later on Tom, he pinged me wrong initially but after pondering on it some I've changed my mind.

What do you mean by "we're so far off script"?
It was an over the top silly way to make a point about flavour gaming not likely being effective. We are off script because in order for your Peter Venkman claim to hold the weight you want it to, the movie and the game setup need to mesh. Richard Peck, didn't die, humans didn't get pulled into the containment unit. The setup and the movie have deviated, so flavour isn't going to be indicative.
i think there's 0-1 wolves in tom, re, and grape. dont want to look in there, dont want to really talm there, but id appreciate their consistent thoughts.
i thought vaimes and tsjw or whatever his name had good entrances as well. sort of a level 1 read, but yk, i'm chilling on it.
/vote kamikaze
think his entrance was meh, think his content early on was meh, think his play is detached and is a good center piece for scumteams. realistically this just an easy wolf hit to set us up for further days if it hits right though i'm thinking of hitting somebody wolfy af but also who's got a lot of associatives.
also fuwa's entrance pinged me a little, and i'm gonna read into em more. i only read first two pages, might read more, but i'm kind of struggling in life rn but dont want to replace out of my first game here.
Super wishy washy post.

Vote tom
While I wouldn't say that Tom is contributing a lot, he is contributing. So this post seems out of place.
It was an over the top silly way to make a point about flavour gaming not likely being effective. We are off script because in order for your Peter Venkman claim to hold the weight you want it to, the movie and the game setup need to mesh.
Saying we're off script is ironic when we have a mod who, in his periodic updates, has the events of the movie unfold.
Jokes aside, I appreciate that we can't rely on everything being 100% in keeping with the movies, and that the mod will probably try to throw us curveballs.
That being said, saying that Peter Venkman is a serial killer based on one scene that exposes that he's a sleezeball and a womanizer, which he is, and claiming that this makes him a serial killer, which he most certainly is not, is being silly. Which you agree, so that's good.
The issue I take is it also seems to be trying to lend credence to Rodemy's equally silly "He who smelt it, dealt it" rationale for voting me as a serial killer. The response is no, that's ridiculous.
-----
Also, can we please try to go for that three-way tie with regards to Gozer's form? I want to see what happens.
I maintain that more people should be voting Rodemy. His rationale for jumping on my bandwagon was horrendous, and that's before his faux pas with regards to my posting the town win condition. Again, and follow this with me now, he didn't know that the mod had posted the town win condition. Yet when I posted it, he:
A. Did not unvote me, and
B. Claimed after the fact he did not believe that was my real win condition at the time that I quoted it, even though I posted the town win condition verbatim.
Again, as far as he knew, it was the first time the town win condition had been posted in the thread. So why did he not unvote me or believe me at the time of my having posted it? I posted the town win condition in its exact wording. Unless I had read it somewhere, how would I be capable of doing that? And since he didn't know that it had been posted elsewhere, why didn't he believe that I was town, as the only other place I could have read it was my own role PM? If he didn't know the mod had posted the town win condition, and had he seen the town win condition before, he should have recognized the exact town win condition quoted in my post and assumed I was town.
Therefore, I think it's pretty obvious he's not town, and didn't know what the town win condition was before the events in question. The fact that he's refusing to talk about this only adds further reason to vote for him.
I dislike your reliance on the town win condition high roller. Make an argument that isn't based on it. Town are just as likely to not read the rules as scum.

Well he obviously read that particular rule because I quoted it verbatim in my post in which I said, "Hey, this is worded in a really interesting way, you should scrutinize it!"
he takes my issues at face value and makes a conclusion on them. i don't know if good faith translates strictly to townlike, but yeah, it gives me a good first impression of him because it does come off as genuine.
It doesn't change my opinion one way or the other. It could come from either town or scum. I would lean to scum trying to remain calm and not attack back, but since I just voted for him, I am going to lean that way I'm sure.

Rodemy Pizza
It’s not the best choice, but it’s a choice nonetheless
I've been thinking about Gozer and I think highroller might be related to him.
I think it's pretty obvious that we are voting for some ability that Gozer will have. We don't know what it is so it's mostly blind guessing. I'm pretty sure all abilities are of similar powerlevel so it doesn't really matter what we vote for.
Highroller insists on having a three way tie. I don't know how you'd solve a three-way tie, but I would solve it by giving the character all three abilities. The other possibility is giving no abilities, but that's almost bastard. Highroller's insistence on getting the three way tie makes me think he is allied with Gozer.
I think that's where I want to go today.

This is really weak justification - you're assuming it's a character with abilities; you're assuming it's all three abilities, not a random roll or any number of other tiebreakers; and you're basing a vote on this speculation? Plus, you just told tom you had the same reads except for Tubba and Rezombied - and tom had highroller in the townpile.

I know the justification is a bit weak, but highroller pushed for the tie twice. That was my first red flag.
I considered that the mod would just random out one of the abilities then, but why would anyone push for a tie in that situation? Like there still exists the possibility that highroller is just a townie who wants to do it for the luls, but it fits much better as someone who is trying to give all the abilities to himself/ his scumbuddy. Also why a three way tie instead of a two way tie? It would have the same "fun" result, while not having the bad result of giving all three abilities to Gozer.
At the time of writing my post, I had the same reads as tom. I came up with this theory after posting that.

You yourself told me that it is too early for a reads list. But you ask Kami for scumreads.
What about his not having scumreads puts him as town in your list?
I think it's pretty obvious that we are voting for some ability that Gozer will have. We don't know what it is so it's mostly blind guessing. I'm pretty sure all abilities are of similar powerlevel so it doesn't really matter what we vote for.
Highroller insists on having a three way tie. I don't know how you'd solve a three-way tie, but I would solve it by giving the character all three abilities. The other possibility is giving no abilities, but that's almost bastard. Highroller's insistence on getting the three way tie makes me think he is allied with Gozer.
I think that's where I want to go today.
vote highroller
