KoolKoal: Feel free to take this with a grain of salt since self meta isn't particularly helpful, but I think I get scumread mostly for style over substance, but also for a certain lack of substance over style. It's not so much what I AM posting most of the time (though sometimes that can seem bad) but what I'm NOT posting. I've been told I come to non-obvious conclusions a lot, so when I post, quite a bit of the time there's jumps in logic that people can't follow and they think that's scummy. I get that accusation about a lot of questions I ask specifically. People call them "busy work" when the questions are legit etc.
As far as things to ignore, I can't think of anything. I would suggest you focus less on what I'm doing and more on how I'm doing it. That's probably more likely to be accurate. Like I've just said, what I do tends to come off a little weird, but if you look for how I do it, mindset comes into play and maybe you figure out something useful.
”I seldom fling children off the tops of towers to improve their health. Yes, I meant for him to die.”The direwolf’s red eyes were darker than Garnets and wiser than men.
With a final lunge, the great dire wolf at last eliminated the final threat to those he loved.
As the Kingslayer lay bleeding out, he managed to utter a few final words:
“I...deserve this...”
And he flitted from life. You feel almost remorse, even after everything the man did, he had learned his own faults very well, and they were many. But so were the deeds that let his honor shine through.
The wolf howled a long, piercing howl as evening began to turn. And all of you gave a small smile, a nod to the care that the wolf gave to you. Winter may be coming, but not before Ghost earned the love and respect from the north.
Vaimes has died! He was:
Player: Vaimes
Character: Jaime Lannister
Faction: Lannister
Alignment: Mafia
Abilities: Reputation (Active) - Each night, you may intimidate a player solely by your reputation, preventing them from performing an action tonight.
Factional Win Conditions: A Lannister always pays his debts - [redacted until end game]
-or- Hear my Roar - [redacted until end game]
Kingslayer.
To many that is what you are. But it is not who you are. You are more than just a sword and the skill to weild it. You are faithful to those you love (to a fault), you care about more than just looking out for yourself, though most wouldn't believe that. And yes, you've done many a thing that you're not proud of, but not because you ever enjoyed acting out of malice, but because you believed it to be the best way to protect those you love, and even in some cases to protect the innocent.
But you do have a reputation to uphold, and while you may not be the man, you definitely play the part.
Thousand_Winds has achieved his win condition and has left the game! He is:
Player: Thousand_Winds
Character: Ghost
Faction: The North
Alignment: Neutral
Abilities: On the Hunt (Active) - Each night you hunt down and kill a player. You cannot kill Starks or Nights Watch members. You know that Shinichi, tomsloger, and Gentleman Johnny are among the players you cannot kill.
Win Conditions: The Pack Survives - Eliminate all non-Stark or non-Nights Watch players. If you do, you win and leave the game.
-or- Lone Wolf - If all Stark and Nights Watch players die, eliminate all other players.
The only thing that matches the intensity of your ferocity is your loyalty. Many may think you’re just a dumb animal, but you’re more than that. You’re a direwolf, the enigmatic protector of those who’s loyalty is to Jon Snow. You don’t know the politics of this world, you know your fangs and your claws, and you’ve never had any trouble using them.
You’ve always made your way back home, whether it be from a trip into the woods, or a long term trek, stranded north of the Wall. The dead don’t scare you, the living don’t scare you; you don’t know fear.
It is now Night 6. Please submit all actions by June 14th, 2300 MST.

My solving is always lack luster ill lose that battle, also chris kinda came into the game without knowing me at all and instantly jumped on me. That says quite alot.
Ill answer anything to the best of my ability as well.
Yeah thats just a microcosm of what shins about this game.
Ive been solving, hes been popping in and trying to be townread.
Anyway i think technically speaking me and kj can just support him for throne, double jk, and we can keep playing indefinitely.
This fulfills 4 of my wincons and lets me skip off into the sunset with my brothercousins not worrying about eliminating all threats since roleblocked scum isnt even that threatening

not a thing ive thought about for awhile. Didnt really think x=y (or shin for that matter) was scum once i was onto chris...
Obviously rod shot at shin. Not a play i would make but shin was heavily talked about at the time definitely a big swingy scum play and as winds pointed out rod doesnt seem worried at all about the flip.
X=y was voting/scumreading shin but shot 1053 out of nowhere. Like, literally hadnt mentioned him
Afterwards he mostly talks around shin. Theres a post where he ends up voting kami but when you read it with my knowledge you can really tell the gymnastics he was going through
I dont want to iso rod.
As a slot they shot at him once, voted him once, but never really pushed him.
I think more important than any individual interactions, is how the team as a whole treated him.
Early on, they largely distanced. But when it came down to it, they never treated shin like someone they wanted to lynch.
I dont wanna just say "if shin was a mislynch, they would have just mislynched them" but, like
Yeah
Idk this scumteam doesn't seem to have had much plan. Its a bunch of people trying to act townie instead of trying to win a mafia game. Really hard for me to see what they were doing thats not how i work.
X=y slot thought he did enough distancing and then didnt want to talk about him anymore
Chris same as above plus really pushes the dichotomy from shooting
Yeah thats just a microcosm of what shins about this game.

lets not make an infeinite loop XD, i just want this game to end on this day haha.
Pretty sure its the first time i played with both of these players, maybe i played another game with rodemy but ik for a fact ive never played with XY before.
I think im not really sure what to tell you kj. Im not really sure what youre thinking.
I mean, ive been on shin since before out last two scum lynches. Which is i suppose not a great look for me if you're still deciding between us but
Well i know now i was right so
But like the thing that made me get there was the RE and hunger flips and apparently you dont wanna setupgame for some reason?
But like i have trouble imagining you getting this wrong even with just behavior? Like obviously you gotta grade on a curve so to speak, imo i make better posts than shin irrespective of our alignments and im not even currently my better/preferred one.
But, like, look at me amd winds concersation early on in day 3. Thats why chris died that day. Yes lngrrs role use/vaimes bussing sealed it, but we caused it i think
We essentially spent all of day 3 saying how scummy both chris and x=y were.
Day 4 too, rhand gave up quickly but i had already resolved to kill him.
Basically i had an ok early game, pushing all of chris/rhand/x=y/shin (though yes i got snowed by vaimes, partially winds fault we echoed chambered too much but equal blame prolly) but as everyone else was dping i needed the scummy townies to die to get there. And i think ive been pretty rad ever since. Still didnt get vaimes til he outed himself (which i do maintain wouldn't have happened like that if i was his last buddy) and got a bit fooled by the all distancing no playing to wincon strategy, but got there eventually.
Idk i think the me town case is more compelling than the shin scum case. Maybe thats not what you need though. But compare to shin who... got shot at by x=y and got pushed by chris for half a day and has no further townie interactions with any scum and had nothing to do with killing them...
And cares more about how hes perceived than any kind of solving
And has never believed in anything this game so much he wouldnt change his mind if it was recieved well
AND
Has lowered in engagement since scum started dying. Which is very much the scum profile of this game.
AND
Would want to kill last n1, despite claiming a role with literally negative utility for town which i think you know i wouldn't do...
Which went along with a pretty crazy tmi leak im retrospect about knowing who the kill was...
Ok im gonna post i no longer remember how this post started but.
Yeah read stuff i think youll get there
Yeah ive decided i dont care you say it doesnt matter to you
Shinichi is a rolecop
We had a giftgiver with all info gifts, one of them a rolecop
We had a full cop, albeit that had unlock with throne
Grape and cantrip were also nominally info roles. (Faction cop, messages)
The 4 flipped scum: no information at all.
Because shins their rolecop.
Now because shin made the baffling decision to truth about it, i get to use it:
Im vanilla. Only vanilla in 19 players.
Yeah thats not scum, come on. For sure would have had at least an unlock if i were scum. And that still leaves them with no information (or disruption of what would then be a town with a crazy amount of info)
And no i dont think godfather that shows up as VT is a real thing i remember you asked about that.
I am jon snow, vanilla town. Shin is scum rolecop.
Killing last n1
Shin being scared of him and everyone else not caring and/or being into not reading his posts is essentially the only explanation.
Chris interactions
There are no examples of me giving chris any quarter. I stand by not killing him day 1. He was busy, and if he had been town hes too useful.
But i did keep pressuring him, and as winds talked about i tried to get nothing from it.
Just wolf flips bruh
Specifically day 3
Yes, sometimes i bus. As you know its not my general plan but sometimes its the right call.
But day 3 was lylo. I was interested in 3 people. Chris, x=y, and rhand. Think i talked about you and shin too but not before those.
Not how scumtom works
The entire scumteam rolling over
Youve been scum with me. You know how much of a cheerleader i am in scumchat. You know, especially in the last game on mtgs, how much i would have poured into keeping my team motivated.
You think it would have worked this badly? Vaimes is the only scum that cared and even he gave up in the end
I think thats pretty much my case here. If i was scum, the scumteam would be underpowered against a town with too much info and yet even still... we would have won already.
This team was bussy and didn't care. Thus proving im not on it even as it simultaneously shows that shin is.
Listen to winds. Listen to RE. Listen to kami. Hell, listen to chris' TMIing ass.
All made good points about shin being scum and me being town.
Especially liked REs actually, about my handling of wincons being super townie (specifically in my handling of rhand iirc). I thought so too i hope i someday get the chance to fake this.
Line, some of the things I see (though not all, it's not this simple) are: Rod risks killing his scum buddy. Then rod votes him. That shot in general has always been more willing to lynch/kill shin than you. Talk to me about that perhaps a bit?

Like i mentioned before, i would never shoot my brother because he normally town reads me anyways. So if i was scum which i am not, what reason would I have to hit him n1 when literally all of day 1 he was town reading me for the most part?
Vanilla town? You could just be a mafia goon if anything, if i stated somewhere that you specifically had to be vt thats wrong. All i know from your role pm is that your vaniilla.
I can break down everything TW said about me that he thinks makes me scum cause its all bs and wifom out of the ass.

I dont think he is good, i know my brother is good there is a difference lol. This isnt something i am up for debating either.

Not Voting (3): Shinichi, tomsloger, Killjoy
With 3 alive it takes 2 to lynch. Deadline is June 22nd at 1400 MST.
A reminder about Iron Throne support: All support must be done via PM (either MTGS or discord), and can be changed as many times as you wish up until twilight is announced. I strongly recommend queuing it up sooner than later.
Im here but I'm also the only one doing anything so...
I asked a question that I don't think was sufficiently answered. Why would Rod try to kill, then continue to vote their scumbuddy? I don't recall the pressure on Shin being that substancial.

@tom: x=y being scum would be a lot of anti-town killing power. I would be baffled if that’s the case.
Why does the Kami flip change things wrt Chris?
My poe is now 4 scum in Chris, Vaimes, Lngr, KJ, Shin.
If KJ is scum, Lngr is too, which means Lngr has to be scum here (if I didn’t wrongly townclear anyone)
vote Lngr
Hmmm. This could be a rule of 3 situation. It would be 3/5 instead of 2/3 though.

I'll check out Chris and Vaimes tomorrow. I know how I feel as to who it is, but I'm just gonna ignore Winds because even though he makes sense, I can't trust him. He has maybe no reason to lie but he also really has no reason not to.

Ill go into detail later but this is what i got so far, honestly the ROD read is just because i don't think hes done enough tobe locked town for me so i find it supcest your still trying to read him as town.
Hi, quick pop in. Great news the owner of the airbnb place took a liking to me and thought me and my gf were the sweetest things ever, so she actually paid for an airbnb for us for an entire month that is double the price this one was, took us out for dinner, and yeah wow that worked out. Lots of packing to do last second but yeah that's amazing.
For my next trick how anyone can read this post, also for those new to Chris I read the thread backwards while catching up, and not immediately go, "oh this is a scum post sweet."
1. He tries to justify the Rod read by saying he finds it suspect that Wisp town reads him. Vacuum this is fine, he can think Wisp is scum and this is a bad interaction with a buddy so cool.
2. I then see LW is in his green pile. Meaning his reason for suspecting Rodemy is "I find it suspect that a person who I am town reading thinks Rod is town, so I am voting Rod (which makes no sense in way. If you suspect LW of the Rod read it can go both ways - either TMI for scum LW on a town Rod or covering for a scum buddy Rod - but suspicion of LW's logic expressed in this manner never (no worlds, which btw if you know me and my love of worlds is a big spoiler where this post is ending) results in a town read of LW if the thought is genuine.
He seems to post quite a bit of content if my glance at the thread is right, which means he isn't just lurking and getting things wrong for lack of effort. Which then means if a thought is massively contradictory but can also not be explained away by 'he isn't paying attention or caring" that only leaves one other possibility.
##vote: Shinichi
No worlds where an invested member of town places that vote with that logic and that reads list. He is scum. All other votes may not be wrong, but are statistically less likely to be correct based off that post.
P.S. I have had a frustrating few days please counter vote me so I can smack you around like a pinata it will be fun I will bring cake.
If anyone other than Shinichi would like to defend this post I eagerly await the wealth of information I will receive by you doing so.
SECONDLY.
Wisp to have a massive post about this issue and not catch this is "holy ***** you are his scumbuddy" btw. Like, how do you even avoid that massive logical chasm? Holy **** you are scum with him. Like. Unquestionably.
Did you guys chat this up and then just not read right? How do you see your name green, what Shinichi said in his Rodemy suspicion, and then go "oh yeah CHECKS OUT" ???
Anyway not sure when I'll post next. But uh, yeah Shinichi should be super uber dead.

Reading backwards I notice Tom wants me to read more Shin games. I have to be honest when I say I find Shin's posts hard to read and I am unsure if I will gain anything from previous Shin games unless I know exactly what I am looking for with precision. Like I get the gist that he goes on adventures and isn't a very technical player - trust me, I just got done defending Osi who was playing bad on purpose for like three weeks. I like to believe I have some credibility when it comes to being able to tell the difference between "not so technical town" and scum.
Also Tom I am all for games but for you in particular you have about a random chance of finding mafia (1/3) even if your theory is true, and while I think it is (hi Shin) I don't think basing an entire day of gameplay around it is particularly sound. So I am assuming your other faction involves you murdering one of the shin/wisp/kj faction and you are disguising it with this logic to benefit your goals.

My read of Shin is dependent on x=y being scum, yeah. I still don't think Shin added up day 1 (although appears a bit better today - starting pitcher theory CONFIRMED) and with the no progression shot + the disappearing act of x=y yeah!
I am still tentatively OK with KA btw. I guess I get the suspicion since early last game Kami pinged me too but getting a pretty similar feel from last game where he was town.

Vaimes (3): Vaimes, Killjoy, Thousand_Winds
Not Voting (5): Shinichi, tomsloger
That’s a lynch! Scene to follow.
He was:
Character: Jaime Lannister
Faction: Lannister
Alignment: Mafia
Abilities: Reputation (Active) - Each night, you may intimidate a player solely by your reputation, preventing them from performing an action tonight.
Factional Win Conditions:
A Lannister always pays his debts - [redacted until end game]
-or-
Hear my Roar - [redacted until end game]
He is:
Character: Ghost
Faction: The North
Alignment: Neutral
Abilities: On the Hunt (Active) - Each night you hunt down and kill a player. You cannot kill Starks or Nights Watch members. You know that Shinichi, tomsloger, and Gentleman Johnny are among the players you cannot kill.
Win Conditions:
The Pack Survives - Eliminate all non-Stark or non-Nights Watch players. If you do, you win and leave the game.
-or-
Lone Wolf - If all Stark and Nights Watch players die, eliminate all other players.
”We only make peace with our enemies. That’s why it’s called making peace.”
Surprisingly no one died. That’s a rare day in Westeros. Yet you know that this isn’t over yet.
No one has died!
It is now Day 7. Day ends June 22nd, 1400 MST.
I have some work to do I suppose
I think you should compare our overall solving, our chris interactions, and especially what each of us cares about this game
Also please support yourself for throne now just in case
Ill answer anything to the best of my ability as well.
I cant speak for kj i guess but
Yeah
Ive been solving, hes been popping in and trying to be townread.
Anyway i think technically speaking me and kj can just support him for throne, double jk, and we can keep playing indefinitely.
This fulfills 4 of my wincons and lets me skip off into the sunset with my brothercousins not worrying about eliminating all threats since roleblocked scum isnt even that threatening
Tomorrow prolly. Long day
Obviously rod shot at shin.
Rhand and vaimes mostly ignore him?
That sound like how those 4 deal with townshin?
No way im gonna do that, its too much effort.
lets not make an infeinite loop XD, i just want this game to end on this day haha.
Pretty sure its the first time i played with both of these players, maybe i played another game with rodemy but ik for a fact ive never played with XY before.
Yeah read stuff i think youll get there
Shinichi is a rolecop
Add to the behavior stuff above.
2 scum targaryens vs all town baratheons...
So prolly they achieved that too assuming x=y or chris killed RE
I think almost everyone won one way or another.
Good job shadow
That does change the first x=y shot though. Doesnt matter shins alignment for motivation i guess.
It doesnt change that both that slot and chris pushed shin early and then ignored him completely.
Things that dont happen if im scum:
Especially rodemy, which is fairly normal for him if youll recall. Cant help but bus
When did chris ignore mme? When he was on all he ever did was poke at me, and i didn't even know the dude.
I dont
Correct you only confirmed im vanilla.
Whats wifom or bs about winds?
I dont think he is good, i know my brother is good there is a difference lol. This isnt something i am up for debating either.
Not really sure why you were trying to debate scumyou would kill last when you talked alot about how scum would do that...
Also truth doesnt actually matter in this case only our opinions so
Why am i scum?
You think crappy defense against my opinions is the best use of your time rn?
its just poe lol, KJ can't mafia he had no reason to pretend to stop the kill then lynch his own partner.
Ok
Do you i guess

Not Voting (3): Shinichi, tomsloger, Killjoy
With 3 alive it takes 2 to lynch. Deadline is June 22nd at 1400 MST.
A reminder about Iron Throne support: All support must be done via PM (either MTGS or discord), and can be changed as many times as you wish up until twilight is announced. I strongly recommend queuing it up sooner than later.
I asked a question that I don't think was sufficiently answered. Why would Rod try to kill, then continue to vote their scumbuddy? I don't recall the pressure on Shin being that substancial.
Even if you take out shin: chris pushed vaimes and x=y, rhand pushed chris and vaimes, vaimes pushed chris...
None of them ever really had the balls to push me seriously
I think rod only tried to kill me once though and at the time it was because i was scum read alot on d1, chris actually pushed me more than rodemy did.
i wanted winds dead much earlier cause it was obvious he would lie
