You soon realise why the guards were running: Iceland was on stage. You hadn't paid any attention on the stage as you were supposed to be the one performing after them, but now that you look at the stage, you can see that things are amiss. Suddenly an ear-piercing scream fills the air and you can see that everyone's favourite Norwegian violinist is chained inside one of Icelands cages.
Killjoy has been lynched! They were:
Welcome to the game! Your role is the following:
Alignment: Town Role: Vanilla Song: Fairytale Performed by: Alexander Rybak Country: Norway
"I'm in love with a fairytale
Even though it hurts
Cause I don't care if
I lose my mind
I'm already cursed"
They say that you should bring a violin with you if you want to win Eurovision Song Contest. The reason for this is you. You showed the Europe what can one man with boyish charms do when given a violin and a catchy song. And since winning the whole competition back in 2009 wasn't enough, you also secured the point record back then, that will be cemented forever as the highest record with the old scoring system.
But that wasn't the end of the story, since you've participated in Eurovision for the second time (not to mention the cameos you've made) in 2018. While you didn't that time, you still made it all the way to finals and most importantly, had lots of fun and saw that the audience enjoyed! That was plenty enough for you!
Now, you are faced with other kind of dilemma, since apparently some of you are trying to ruin this competition for the personal enjoyment. You don't want that, but sadly your violin skills aren't very useful in this situation. You can just try your best and hope that you will catch the perpetrators...
You have no abilities.
You win when all the hostile performances have been dropped out of the competition!
The guards and the Austrian lady with a beard run towards the stage and try to stop the Icelandic group, but no avail. As soon as their enter the stage, the back-up dancers grab them and soon the audience joins in and help the group to stuff guards and the lone lady into another cage, next to Alexander Rybak. You just stand still and watching all of this happen in front of your eyes, still unable to believe that any of this is real.

They say that in Eurovision, only the imagination is limit on what you can see on the stage. And for that reason (and maybe because of that reason), you decided to make your big debut on Eurovision.
With your chic style, classic power ballad and beard like no other, you captured the attention of whole Europe with a song that could've easily been the opening song for James Bond movie. And once you won the 2014 contest by a landslide, no one was laughing at you anymore.
Now, it's time for you to spread the message of love and forgiveness and hopefully resolve this conflict peacefully, without needing to result to physical or mental violence. That would the best for certain.
Just in case that things won't go as peacefully as you'd wish them to go, you know that you have a trick up in your sleeve. Just like your song, you and your message can't be silenced so easily. They can try to tarnish your reputation, belittle your achievements or even physically assault you, but that won't keep you down. When the situation is the direst, you know you shall rise up again to the glory and lead everyone to a peaceful resolution of this whole mess you are in.
Revive (1-shot, passive): The first time you would be killed during the night, you will immediately revive in such a flashy manner everyone notices it.
You win when all the hostile performances have been dropped out of the competition!
Then, the whole group and audience turns their attention towards you. You are the last person remaining here that hasn't been either thrown out, stuffed in a cage or joined the Icelandic group and his fans. Every one is looking at you and you ponder your options for a moment.

"Europe will crumble" you sing and keep wishing that for it to happen in real life too.
To your surprise, this worked and you managed to place in top 10. You are still uncertain how you did this, but you are not letting it bother you. Don't fix it if it works. If your luck doesn't change, you can make it through this competition as well and let the Europe have a taste of your wrath and contempt.

Cantrip, I don’t blame you. vezok distanced pretty well. In the end, I ~probably would’ve gone the “if KJ is scum I’d rather lose to good play than a weird gambit” route.
Also three-day endgames on a forum where deadlines are usually five times longer than that feels a little claustrophobic. Everyone not having time kind of sucked.
Note: Also had a thought that the Vaimes kill was more likely vez.
I pondered killing you and claiming bodyguard who got blocked on the emiko kill, but I was afaraid that Vaimes would figure me out.
That would have ended very poorly for you.
Dear Town, sorry I couldn't shine as town this game and be more useful overall. I feel like I made so many mistake, but really my biggest sin was being a waffle. In the end, I decided that I wanted to go out taking a stand, and I chose wrong. (Not that it would have changed the overall outcome. 95% sure that if I had voted Vez, Vez would have voted back and KJ would have likely hammered me, but it still would have been nice to have been right.)
Wisp, nice gambit. Be prepared to weather a blitz-storm of doubt for your next few town PR games.
Vez, seriously not sure why you ever made 1217 as scum. You pocketed me good.
Vaimes, you don't know how many times I asked myself that exact question: would I rather lose to a gambit or to good scum play? I went so far as to delete the bottom of my last game post (the part with my decision to vote KJ) because I decided I'd rather lose to good scum play, but then KJ posted 1822 where he said he didn't see why my 1338 muddied the waters on Wisp when there was a whole paragraph in that post about why it was muddied and my "KJ's just pandering to/grooming Vez" world was solidified.
KJ, sorry for not letting you finish your rereads and posts. I was up WAY too late last night fleshing out my own thoughts, and then I saw Vez set a 9 hour deadline, and I knew if I didn't get something out last night I wouldn't have time to before he voted me. Sorry also for being a paranoid butt and not just deciding that good play is more indicative of town rather than manipulative scum.
Bur, thank you for a very enjoyable game. Flavor was fun and funny, setup seems balanced, modding was well-done.
Cantrip, why didn’t you claim protective to draw the kill and save me?
Because I was stupidly stuck on the idea of "I will get NK'd and revealed and scum will cry in their soup and it will be glorious". Then right near the end of D4 I realized if I got NK'd N4 we'd be in a F4 with confirmed town!me and I wasn't sure that having 3 to sort would be better than just having someone eliminated from the pool, even if that person was likely you. If I had thought about it sooner, I may have decided to.
And to anyone wondering why I claimed VT, I could read the room: Vez wasn't leaving his tunnel, and KJ was pretty heavily leaning toward scum!me. Claiming a protective PR at that point is practically screaming scum desperation (and, obviously, Vez could even have counterclaimed).
I also felt that this game was very enjoyable. I liked playing with all of you.
I was lucky enough to be able to night kill everyone who suspected me.
Also I enjoyed last's gambit, but I would have liked a bit more preparation. I really like gambiting as scum cause it makes the game more fun.
I was afraid I'd blew it all when KJ made the comment about me waiting for them to pounce on each other. That was exactly what I was doing and I could find no way to dismiss it so I just chose to ignore it.

I don't think uncertainty is a bad thing, the only thing I wish you had done differently is doing more to bait a NK.
Yeah, I think I got lazy and counted too much on my tendency to be strongly town read when I'm town and then Tom got NK'd and you claimed and they had to kill you and then Emiko was the logical next choice and I was like WHY DON'T I HAVE A 1-SHOT DOC INSTEAD PLEASE??
Quote from KCC »
I also just realized that no one truthfully claimed an ability in this game
(“Hey guys, I’m a one-shot Doc and I’ll save either KCC or Emiko!” Cantrip the Loud Bulletproof lied spectacularly, making it very likely the Cop and her check would live another Day.)

KoolKoal: Feel free to take this with a grain of salt since self meta isn't particularly helpful, but I think I get scumread mostly for style over substance, but also for a certain lack of substance over style. It's not so much what I AM posting most of the time (though sometimes that can seem bad) but what I'm NOT posting. I've been told I come to non-obvious conclusions a lot, so when I post, quite a bit of the time there's jumps in logic that people can't follow and they think that's scummy. I get that accusation about a lot of questions I ask specifically. People call them "busy work" when the questions are legit etc.
As far as things to ignore, I can't think of anything. I would suggest you focus less on what I'm doing and more on how I'm doing it. That's probably more likely to be accurate. Like I've just said, what I do tends to come off a little weird, but if you look for how I do it, mindset comes into play and maybe you figure out something useful.

Anyways, huge thanks to everyone playing in this game! Also, huge thanks for Proph and Axelrod for reviewing this game.
While I thought this game was somewhat town-sided, I was positively surprised that mafia pulled off this win! Huge props to vezok for carrying her team over the finish line! I was also experimenting with deadlines this game (too), with determining that day should last 24h/living person. While that initially seemed to work quite fine, it caused this game to have 3 day D5, but at that point it didn't want to tamper with it anymore, so I decided to just roll with it and see if my players ask for an extension. Other than that, I felt that this game had a good pace, thread never died yet no one of the days (minus maybe D5) felt overly rushed.
Still, I really appreciate all feedback from everyone involved with this game. What did you think about deadlines? Flavour/Vote Counts? What was your favourite song? Anything else?
And to Cantrip: I really hate "follow/protect the cop" situations, so I very rarely put doctor and cop in a same game
@Bur: If you were trying that experiment with the deadlines, I wish you would have told us ahead of time. We assumed usual deadlines and planned around that, then were surprised when we had less time near the end of the game.
