The powers that be have indicated that once again we shall enter the micro arena, and since I'm next on the list (and next, and next after that...), if you sign up to play, you get to vote on which of the following three open setups is to be run:
Scum Love the King! Open Micro for 7 Players
5x Town Vanilla
2x Mafia Goon
Pre-game, the mafia select a king from among the town. That player is publicly confirmed to be town and gets two votes. If the mafia nightkill the king, they must also select a new king who is similarly confirmed and has two votes starting the next Day.
Watchmen Wanted Open Micro for 7 Players
1x Town Hyper Watcher (Can't target the same player two Nights in a row.)
4x Town Vanilla
2x Mafia Goon
The first time the Hyper Watcher dies, one living Town Vanilla is selected at random to be a Hyper Watcher (the new Watcher can target the same player the previous Watcher targeted the previous Night).
What's Up, Doc? Open Micro for 7 Players
1x Town Doctor
1x Town Macho Cop (Protective abilities used on this player won't prevent a kill.)
3x Town Vanilla
1x Mafia Roleblocker
1x Mafia Goon
Vote for one of the above when you /in.
Come have a little fun!

So I find myself in the position of having to random someone out. If anyone wants to volunteer to pass on this one, please let me know in the next day or so; otherwise I'll let Random.org sort things.
(@Tom: If you're really more interested in Watchmen and want to sit out Scum Love the King, I'd give you an auto-in when Watchmen runs, but if you just like micros and want to stay in, that's fine, too.)

Please no sign ups based on random org. I'd rather have you pick someone and kick them out of the game if you have to than choosing someone at random.

...what? Why? Random seems basically the only way to do it fairly that isn’t “first 7”, Which ransoms seems better than.

No, first come first serve is much better than random, because first come first serve is actually fair.
There was a mod on the MTGNews mafia board who insisted on random numbers to choose the order in which mafia games were hosted. It was an objectively terrible idea. There is no fairness in being the first person to sign up for someone and then being opted out.
I'd give my spot if it's going to be decided randomly.
I do not like randoming people out of games because it feels bad to get thrown out in a random fashion. I don't really have a solid argument for this, but I just hate to know that someone lost access to entertaintment due to random numbers.

Sorry for the delay; weekend hit me upside the head with a 2x4. I'll post a game thread and send out role PMs shortly.
@Vezok: In the not too far past, Mafia games didn't just "fill", they overflowed. We'd have 16 player setups with 25 players signing up, all in the first 24 hours after the signups went up. General consensus (which I agreed with) was that the only fair way to decide who got to play and who didn't was to decide by random.org. First-come first-served means that only those lucky enough to be on when signups went up got in, and the mod cherry picking players meant that some players never got the chance to play because mods would naturally gravitate to the players they thought would be most fun/interesting/strong/etc.
@Highroller: I agree that deciding what order games are played in randomly is sub-optimal, but that's not the same as who plays in a game, imo.
That said, since Tom was the only one who was more interested in another game and he indicated he was ok sitting this one out, I will plan on going with the first seven entrants.
