Also, eye of Ugin is banned, which may or may not kill off eldrazi entirely, but it definitely hurts tron, and with that as one of my worse matchups, I'm ok with it not coming back.
Thanks for the welcome! I plan on sticking around! Unfortunately im pretty much just a cas edh player started in standard when khans came out!
whats wrong with cas edh players? I haven't played in an event since...probably a scg qualifier in 2014. Tourney players arent fun to play against, friends at a table with a cold drink (not near my precious cards of course...) is always more fun.
The goal is not necessarily to get the most efficient removal or spells but to force the opponent to make choices as their options get restricted, while I sail overhead with sphinges. The deck obviously needs another 2 lands, but I'm not sure what to cut as I'm still playtesting. Since its first iteration, I've cut Martial Law and AEther Barrier. Other cards I've considered including Suppression Field and Blind Obedience. It's obviously a budget deck so I'm not trying to add anything particularly expensive. Any advice would be appreciated.
Sorry I haven't been around much lately. I haven't really had anything neat to report regarding magic, as the Force of Will card game has grown very popular at my local shop lately. It's an interesting game, pretty similar to magic. The current "standard" format has a power level that's somewhere between legacy and modern, and the cards are cheaper than magic's standard cards, so it's been pretty easy to build competitive decks.
In magic news, still working on foiling out martyr-proc. Over halfway there in terms of cards, but marsh flats are going to be a pain. Also built Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder EDH before all the FoW hype started up. Fun deck, just focuses on playing lots of cards that demand sacrifices and throwing all the thrulls at them. Sadistic Hypnotist and contamination are my favorites.
Just saying, if you don't own a playset of Trinket Mage - you should. Just a great card in every deck that can run him.
I fully agree. That guy can get so much stuff in the deck - Mox Opal, Engineered Explosives, Aether Spellbomb...its really more of a Trinket Mage than a Tezzeret deck. I also feel the same way for Treasure Mage, but there are only so many 6+ cmc artifacts. I would love to run one, but my deck only runs 1-2 6 drops (Wurmcoil Engine). If they printed one that fetched for one in the 2-4 cmc range I would be in love.
Went to the Eldritch Moon prerelease yesterday. Did okay. Biggest bombs were Bruna and Sanctifier of Souls. The deck was very fun to pilot, the only thing that really shat on it was Thalia and aggro decks.
In EDH news, I finally finished my Mishra deck! It's less powerful than I would like it to be, but that should get fixed soon. I also was surprised to find out that I had my Newzuri deck complete as well (I have just been jamming in a bunch of cards I thought would go in the deck well), so that's good.

Been working on assembling an Ertai, the Corrupted list. Mostly looking for win cons I'm interested in and going to adjust around those. I sent in a load of cards to SCG and have about 800$ in store credit for it, so I'm pimping a lot of it for now.
Still have tons of bulk to get rid of before my move, but planning to keep a solid 4-5 decks around, one being this EDH list.
Hi guys. You sound academic and scholarly! I would be honored to be a member of the Tolarian Academy!
Bit of a rebel, or some-such. Hope that's alright. We all need good inventors, right?
If you need some sort of proof of participation in the MTG community, let it be known that I frequent Games of Martinez in California, and play MTGA (usually Alchemy). I have (in MTGA) a RB Midrange/Burn deck (that I'm working on), a Simic stuff deck (that I'm working on), and something else (just one) which I forgot (and obviously can't be bothered to look up...).
IRL I play non-competitive EDH, competitive Modern (just started), and I used to play casually with my younger brother (the middle one) at home when we lived together still.
If you need any other information, feel free to ask.
Many thanks for the consideration, and no hard feelings if I am not of sufficient muster or mores.
Mike
PS: Would love to share & compare decklists, but not entirely sure how (somewhat of a beginner to competitive play :)).
I'm not sure I have permission to post MTG-related things here yet as I haven't been formally accepted to the guild, but I'll just lyk that I am building a Modern Bounce deck (Azorius), and modifying a Modern Lifegain/Card draw deck (Simic).
As of now I'm having trouble deciding Instants/Soerceries for the bounce deck. There are 50 ways to make a buffer! (as we all know).
Cheers
Mike
