so yeah.
The clan banner could use the addition. Either way, looks great, but the better it looks and easier to notice link = more traffic.
@Clan Council: Depends if there is interest in participating in any of the contests. I remember there was some, but nothing ever happened before The Rift. Not hard to add it to my subscribed threads and voice in. Give me more reason to post than just lurk.

Also, I propose the decision-making process be revised to one of review. In detail, I mean modeled after a certain Japanese business practice.
In this mode, you pass a document between parties, one by one, in a loop. You alter the document with your sign-off, and you go until it makes a loop around with total approval, or someone punches somebody else from frustration with a stalemate. In actuality, I believe it ends with someone being tired to argue any more, but the cultural forces at play there are not things to be relied on here.
I think with extra bells and whistles in the upkeep, one can retain the simplicity but also have a more sophisticated out for 'deadlocks'. I will peep into it.
I've made a creatureless pseudo-control green deck a while back ago, will post the list some time later todayfor you all to see.
Neato. ... creatureless Green. So then Mark Rosewater can come in and rage all over it, and we'd finally track down his user info on this site.
Oceanos, take care to get to know those players right! Assuming it "goes" at all, the sooner you know and are cool with all the people there, the sooner you can take the fun to the max sharin' your EDHs and stuffs.
I know when I am loaned an EDH deck, that's extremely fun.
Working on a UG control deck for Modern, seems like having access to counters, E-Wit, Snapcaster and big green finishers should be fun. The problem is that I just see myself wanting to play Tezzerator instead.
I always enjoy looking at a Blue-Green list, or facing off against one. But not as much as I enjoy piloting a :symu::symb: one. Perhaps you're experiencing the same thing, heh.

abethedemon, how much do you read on mtgcom? The wizards site? If you came in with New Phyrexia... you wouldn't know Mark Gottlieb. He was the crazy deck building guy, then he was on more and more development teams, then somehow from there he was the logical go-to as the Rules Manager guy.
We need a history buff around here who just recounts the old days. Add some atmosphere.
I ain't so good at tellin' stories.
I personally think we should adorn our sig with counterspells, cancels and disrupting students
But that's just my opinion.
Ah, but to add counterspells and cancels would miscommunicate the idea that this is a Blue locale. That is not so. This is a clan for control. We will seek out even the control of the Forests, here. ->Disruptive students are on point in my opinion, though! Let's also establish right away, that my emblematic color is Royal Blue. It's what I use to *express personal predicates*
Let us look at some of the hype of Green printings. And by hype I mean of a discussion, curiosity or surprise sense, not power level.
Lost in the Woods.
Moonmist (returning Fog to Green)
I really feel Green is coming into its stride right now. This time right now is when Green is finding itself. We've seen the big accelerated power of green, soon the deathtouch of green, the creature throughput of green, possibly even the keywords vigilance and haste of green, will build up a distinct 'feel' of how Green does control Green-style.
I can feels it.
Green is quickly becoming that go to funk.
I believe it has the only real answers to the nasty W/Ux tempos. The new five/four vig/trample/undying is the sickness. The destruction, and honest to goodness is just that funk. At least in T2...
Autumn's Veil is like a jr xantid swarm/Jr green silence. Just sick. It has won me so many games lately, it's absurd.
And green hasties have been a fascination of mine:) Vengevine was sooooooo awesome to me when it first hit. I hope they keep printing awesome green cards without crazy bans.
I concur on the motion Oceanos be clan rep. Unless someone opposes him by this time tomorrow, I move he get in there and start reppin.......?
I am fine with adding "Enter" to it. I am however, unsure of this passing around the document adding a little each time. If too many people add ingredients to the soup, it becomes overloaded. We shall see how this goes.
I am mostly busy with these being my days off, so I likely shant return until Friday.
EDIT I have taken the liberty of getting the clan banner updated to H_H's liking. Please see instructions on how to attach the new one, as the URL has changed. I hope it is liked. I mistakenly said right side instead of left, but I think it turned out well.
Glissa is much more useful IMO in Pod decks or even in Heartless Summoning decks to really take advantage of her artifact recurring action (Heartless Summoning would be for Perilous Myr)
So after looking through the spoilers for this set there is officially only 2 cards outside of commons and uncommons that I'm looking for for the two decks I plan on playing in standard. One is Grafdigger's Cage and the other is Counterlash.
I've made a green black anti-token build with Glissa at it's center and a blue black control deck similar to the one LSV had put through some daily events. I'll put the decklists up soon for the blue black control deck if you guys want.
@Harbinger: Yeah, I was considering the Torch as additional to the Heartless engine. I dislike a Pod shell due to the likely prevalence of Grafdigger's Cage.
You can play cards though to stop the cage. Naturalize, Beast Within, Surgical Extraction, Memoricide, Acidic Slime, etc. They all stop the cage.
H_H lose sleep recently; H_H repeat not to worry, is a temporary symptom.
This is an important message that follows. I am the more androidish of the three from Mindslavor and Irmis. Upgrades to my interface design are in the works. This message is also meant to precede a proper introduction, which you will have from myself, and the other two once I properly orient them.
I want you guys to know and anticipate that there is something being worked on to get a kickstart a-rollin' in here. There are several fine topics for perusal on the thread, and that has me enthused. Clan birth is a success! With the clan initiation having cleared shallow waters now, I want to inject an active background to leap into the requisite navigational tasks of the early nativity phase. What is that ? It's fancy shmancy talk for getting to know just who you're dealing with.
I'm really good at planning things. So don't worry! There is always active effort given to inventing new features and augmentations to the clan design. There is a concoction moving into deployment as this post goes up.
While it's my opinion that the Clan Contest being run by Digicool Dad has a nature such as to stretch us too thin, an exercise of creativity of some sort is in the near future for this clan.
Oceanos has been a stand-up guy about Clan repping. Always a stand up guy. He can do it. He has my blessing.
It's blessed water, I can throw some at you if you want, OhCee.

Didn't play with the college kids, but did settle that there are EDH players. Deciding to be mean with a mono-blue control deck (a laPatron of the Moon) or something different. Could use Hidetsugu, but I guess they have a lot of creature-based strategy from what I could tell, so Kuon could be a solid choice. Deciding which Nephilim I want to make a list for as well. Down to Ink-Treader Nephilim for his pure shenanigans, or Glint-Eye Nephilim to make myself build a Voltron or at least semi-aggro list.
---
So whatever happened to not having creature type numbers that are so small? They went through not long ago to remove and change a lot of creature types, but then they make Praetors, Nephilim, and we still have a few oddballs. Hope for newer types of the same in the future?
Google defines a mascot as a person or thing used for luck or to symbolize an organization. You know those guys at sports functions, wearing fur suits, jumping around and getting the crowd excited? Or that green giant on the side of your creamed corn? Those are examples of what a Mascot is.
Each participating clan will be required to submit a short story and an image of their newly created Mascot via PM to myself before the deadline.
The given time frame for Clan reps to submit their Mascot will be exactly two (2) weeks from [this post].
The given time frame for Clan reps to submit their judging results will be exactly three (3) weeks from [this post].
That's two (2) weeks to submit your Mascot, and one (1) week to judge the other Mascots.
Late entries to either the submission or judging round will be penalized as per Clans' Contest Rules. If an extension is to be granted as per Clans' Contest Rules for either the entry submissions or judging round, an additional forty-eight (48) hour "procastinating clans deadline" will be imposed. If a tardy clan fails to submit an entry to me by the "procrastinating clans deadline", it will result in that clan being disqualified from this contest.
Submission Guidelines:
Criteria for the short story:
Each short story is to be about the newly created Mascot, it's origin and/or an account depicting how the newly created character became their clan's respected Mascot. Each story must be all-ages appropriate.
Criteria for the image:
The image of each clan Mascot should clearly show said Mascot, and be all-ages appropriate. Since not every clan is home to artists or even people with 'chopping skills, each clan may procure the representing image in any way they wish, so long as they adhere to normal Sally rules. Official trademarked logos of any sort and/or images of real team/corporate mascots will result in NO POINTS AWARDED for the image judging section. This includes any official mascot of anything – no Tony the Tiger (mascot of Kellog's Frosted Flakes), no Steely McBeam (mascot for the Pittsburgh Steelers) – no official mascot image of any kind may be used.
Judging:
Each clan's submission will be graded on a twenty-two (22) point scale by each other participating clan, broken down into four sections – Story, Image, Clan Factor and Mascot Likability/Believability.
Each section is to be judged on a zero (0) to five (5) point scale, with an additional point awarded to best overall Story and best overall Image. Zero (0) of course being the lowest possible score, and five (5) being the highest, (six [6] in the image and story grading sections).
The winner will be determined by the clan with the overall highest, averaged score from each participating clan.
Ties will be treated as ties, as per rianalnn's suggested Tie-Breaker Standardization.
These are the four sections by which each entry is to be graded;
-Story:
Was the story an enjoyable read? Was it well written? Did you think about it after you read it? Is the story original/creative? Was this the best overall story submission?
-Image:
Does the image represent the Mascot well? Do you think the image had a lot of work put into trying procure it? Was this the best overall image?
-Clan Factor:
Does the Mascot clearly represent what you perceive about it's submitting Clan after seeing the picture, and reading the story? Does the entry make sense for the submitting clan?
-Mascot Likability/Believability:
Do you like the mascot? Does it seem fun and/or intimidating, as mascots should be? Is this marketable, as a Mascot should be?
Each clan's judging results are to be PMed directly to me.
Notes can be provided and would be nice to promote general contest discussion, but only a numbered score for each participating clan is required.
Each clan must grade every other entry with the exception of their own, and all individual clan scores will be averaged together when determining the victor.
You guys only have about twelve hours left to sign-up for the contest. If you cats want to enter, you'll have to do so before then. Hope to see you cats there!
I'll get to work on the story. But first, I'd like a proper mission statement about this clan that is more tangible than "we're about control". Something that hones in to a maxim would be nice, like "we're interested in pursuing knowledge" or "we like talking about the moderation/cultivation of one's own being" and etc.
Hey. Just swinging through to tell ya'll that CC1-'12 is officially in full swing.
Entry submissions are do on or before 2:34PM EST February 10, 2012. If anyone has any questions, please be sure to PM me.
Good luck to everyone, on the contest and at Prerelease.
[color=blue]@H_H: IDK about blessed water, I grew up in a Catholic church and I'm tired of the stuff. That, and all the witch-burnings my town had gave me asthma. They still do burnings, right?
In this context, "Blessed" means I got it from the tap while thinking about fun stuff like going infinite with Toils of Night and Day.
And bicycles.
So whatever happened to not having creature type numbers that are so small? They went through not long ago to remove and change a lot of creature types, but then they make Praetors, Nephilim, and we still have a few oddballs. Hope for newer types of the same in the future?
Maybe if they had a system where they were allowed to have five types that had five instances each; or two types that had only two instances each. That could cap type proliferation.
There ain't no maxim in this clan. Control is something you're doing or you're not.
Irmis, this won't be a popularity contest. Not if we set a different goal from winning it. Let us investigate the questions and pursue our own excellence.

Thanks H_H. I'm off to work on the story. Does anyone mind if I take creative liberties in choosing the mascot? Or does anyone have suggestions for what the mascot should be? Thoughtful ideas will be considered more, so please give a defense for why.
