Ah, yes, ducks. Those ducks gave us a hard time in that I Spy book from many years back that we decided to go through again just for the fun of it.
My 5-color deck can theoretically go infinite on turn 4, though that hasn't happened yet. The deck has Village Bell-Ringer and Splinter Twin in it, but I usually don't go for the two-card combos in my playgroup (though in other settings with something on the line, I would). Village Bell-Ringer serves as a combo piece in a few different combos in the deck, and Splinter Twin is just useful for what it does in general.
Oh no, there's a hot larva on the floor. Watch out...
(Random unrelated note: I mentioned this clan in my post in the MTGS Time Capsule (in Community Issues), where I predicted that this clan would probably overtake my clan in collective star jump count for 2015, partly due to the fact that the star jump count for my clan could be negative.)
So I'm going to be owning a Tarmogoyf soon, guys. I'm really nervous buying it. But, like. I'm basically quitting standard for modern soon, so I'm trading out most of my standard stuff that isn't in my one standard deck. Hence, I'm picking up a goyf for $90 and using credit to pay for the rest. It's a modern masters goyf. In REALLY good condition. I know it's not, like, power 9 level or anything, but it'll be the most expensive single card I've ever owned by a long shot, and so I'm really excited but also nervous.
And to think I'm going to need three more of them for Jund... sheesh.
I don't know whether my Foil Rise of the Eldrazi regular-art Emrakul, the Aeons Torn or my Japan Junior Series Glorious Anthem is currently the most expensive card in my collection, mainly because I can't find a pricing for the later to compare to.
On the topic of EDH, I finally finished up building up the rest of the decks, so now I have seven EDH decks (technically six and one horde deck (that project to make it convertible to an EDH deck may or may not happen, but definitely not any time soon).
I have the original magazine promo Mana Crypt, which I inherited from my brother (and didn't know was worth money until I had been playing EDH for over a year), and a NM English Mana Drain. Those are the most expensive cards I own, and I love them to death. (I've gotten Mana Drain on the Stick more times than is decent... >_>)
@Torel: JSS Anthem in English is like $500. Japanese is $150. Foil Emrakul is like $200.
@Fran-chan: It'd be a Black Lotus... You can ask other people in my clan about me giving away Black Lotuses.
@Other expensive cards: I waited too long to try and pick up other pieces of power... so I'm stuck with my 7 pieces until after I open my shop and someone comes and drops them in my lap.
Expensive cards? Nothing on that level for me. Well, had a Tarmogoyf that we eventually traded away for a bunch of other things.
Another random question... who runs decks with some snow basic lands (and for what reasons)?
I have some in my Rafiq of the Many deck. At the time I first made it, I didn't have spare shocklands to use, so I had to run Arctic Flats and Boreal Shelf, and then I also put an Into the North in there and a few snow basic lands in just in case.

I'm going to assume they're proxies unless proven wrong
Anyway, I picked up my Tarmogoyf today! And registered myself for the prerelease... all the money spent But, hey. I got the most expensive card in my collection. It's so weird, having her now (This first one at least is a she, because why not?) feels unreal to the extreme, actually. Tarmogoyf's always been a card that's been on my radar as being kind of "the expensive card" even though there are much more expensive cards. I dunno why, but... yeah. It's just weird to be the owner of one.

1: Plains, Sol Ring
2: W/B or W/G dual, Ashnod's Altar
3: Swamp or Forest, Cathar's Crusade
4: Ghave, Guru of Spores, infinitely large infinite dudes + colorless mana. (Add Skullclamp for lols.)
Consistency is important in combo decks. As such I run no tutors.

Someone once showed me this silly "terrible" idea of a deck that would almost certainly not work out more than once:
Commander: Maelstrom Wanderer
Primal Surge
Etherium-Horn Sorcerer
Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker
Deceiver Exarch
And 95 lands.

Speaking of Sharuum, I'm considering Platinum Angel in addition to or instead of Platinum Emperion. What think?

Also guys: Find me an interesting Commander for Gaka griefer-level control EDH. And madhatter: No GAAIV.
