I may be a little out of touch with college life nowaday but isn't the reason we all go/went to college was to not only further our education but to have "the best time of our lives"? It really doesn't sound like you're getting the best out of college life. ToMike...you really will have all the time you can handle working once you leave school.

That actually part of why I'm so busy this weekend. In addition to the normal 6 hours of gaming on Saturday night I do, this weekend I am also having breakfast with a friend, and then going to the Ren Faire on Monday with a large group of people. To be fair, it isn't all fun, as I have 8 hours of tutoring (ie, work) scheduled, along with the homework and two projects I have to work on, one of which is a group project. I know it sounds like I'm always complaining about being busy, but rather I am more just trying to explain my inability to do things like post as much as I'd like to and fix the clan site up.
Anyway, I am now off to Wal-Mart, for my plants are all so big and they need pots of newness.

Ack....my weekend is going to be so boring. For one I'm still not working. I pulled a no show at my Orientation! I know I said I was leaving for it, and I really was, but right before I drove to the place they called asking where I was and wondering why I pulled the no show. Here are the details.
To apply I needed to walk in between 8am and 4pm.
A week later I needed to get the paperwork and drug test between 8am and 4pm.
Three days later I needed to go to the orientation from 8am to 4pm.
See what happened? The orientation wasn't a walkin like I thought but an all day thing. I was required to show up there at 7:45am. Ack, now I have an entire week of unemployment to waste. Man this sucks.
In other news, I've decided that once I start working I'll find a FNM place to hang out. Or a place that does lots of booster Drafts. I also would like to get a set of the entire Kamigawa Block. Sounds impossible, especialy since I only have a few cards and still need to complete mirrodin and Onslaught. But I'd still like to try. I think I'll look into buying a playset of all the commons and uncommons. (um...a playset means 4X of each card right?)
Does anyone know of a good gaming place in Las Vegas? I'll ask the lobby. yea, my first magic related post on this site. (I've looked the word lobby over and for some reason it still looks very wrong. grrr.....)

And I guess that I'm a lucky one for the truth of what I know. For my heart had not denied me and I have somewhere to go. I shall never be a prisoner of steel and glass and stone. If I leave, I will return again to my Rocky Mountain home.
I am a captive in my household as family is visiting this weekend and I am not to have plans.
However, next weekend I am FINALLY making a trek up to the main campus of my school to meet/hang out with someone I met through thefacebook, which is the best thing ever. She is incredibly awesome. We are already making plans to go to The Bamboozle together.
Its kind of sad that I never really hung out at the main campus...but I never had anyone to hang out with besides kids I went to high school with...but I wanted to distance myself from them and hang out with people that I would want to be around.
I'm buying and watching more movies than usual.
I got the Donnie Darko directors cut, which has Kevin Smith on the commentary with the director. Good commentary there.
I got Lost In Translation...and finally watched it. Loved it.

So, when I was at Wal-Mart today, I bought the not pots for my plants, and they are now replanted.
What else I got, I was no where near planning. As I was walking back from the garden center to the checkouts, I passed by the fish section, where I saw two of the most beautiful bettas ever. Well, I just had to get them. So now I have two new pets. One is a deep red with violet highlights and the other is blue with purple and green highlights. I'll have pictures up sometime soon if I get the chance. I still need names for them, so if anyone has any ideas, please suggest them.

Sorry I'm with ToMike We need to convert you heathens to science
I love science!! I'm an Earth Science grad with a concentration in Physics and Biology. Science is the only way to go in life!:biggrin3: All that non-science mumbo jumbo is just silly:p ! All talking about drawing and writing....not possible without physics!

I'd have to go with the "I love Science" crowd. Without Science....well, things become rather odd. Course I suppose you can live quite happily without knowledge of science....at least thats how many of my friends take life.

Life without science being good? Does someone want to explain to me how this impossibility could be?
Anyway, still working on fish names. Right now the current leaders are Rigel and Betelgeuse. The red one really seems like a Rigel to me, but I'm not so sure Betegeuse seems like a blue one. These names, of course, would lead to a great joke if ever Orion, my puppy, ate them.
A big problem with them is that I was planning on naming my next cat Rigel (assuming that the cat fit the name) which means that if I use it for the fish, then I can't use it for the cat. Procyon is also taken for my next dog.
That said, I really like the idea of naming my pets after astrometric objects, as I have done in the past. I have Lea and Orion right now, and previously I had fish named Neptune, Nova, and Nebula. Suggestions in that vein are more likely to help me out. Only caveat is that the name needs to have a meaning. Either representative of the fishes color or personality, or fitting to some backstory about the star/constellation/etc.

I'll have no part in this naming of fish game. It's childish, silly, and OH HEY LOOK A PENNY!

ER was cool this week. The lady had an embolic stroke and you sorta saw things through her eyes. She could understand what they were saying, but she couldn't move her left side, or talk. It was pretty creepy in a way. I hope that never happens to me.
Horoscopes and astrology are the one and the same. AstroNOMY is science-y. I suggest GANYMEDE
or CALLISTO
They are both icy moons of Jupiter. Neither are really blue but the names are nice.

I went skiing again this weekend, stayed at my friend's house for the night (I went up there with him, too). On the way back, we took a wrong turn and ended up in NE Philadelphia, under the Septa tracks at midnight. *gulp* There were crackheads going up and down the street with jackets bigger than they were, probably packing heat. We were very cautious.
My friend suffered a mild concussion after landing face-down on a failed fakie 540.
A horoscope is defined as an atrological forecast. Thus astrology:horoscope::meteorology:weather forecast. The difference, while existant, is negligant.

M44 (NGC 2632) is better known by the name the Beehive Cluster, or the Latin equivalent: Praesepe, which not only means a hive but also a crib, or manger.
This is a bright open cluster clearly visible to the naked eye on a dark enough night, and best appreciated with binoculars or small scope. One of the largest clusters, its 1.5 degree size is equivalent to three full moons end-to-end. Its distance is calculated at between 520-590 light years.
This grouping is so large it was well-known in antiquity, when it was thought to be a nebula, or gaseous region of the sky. The cluster often served to predict the weather: if not crystal clear inclement weather might be on the way.
Galileo was the first to study its stars with a telescope. He counted over forty members, putting to rest the idea of its nebulosity and introducing the idea of star clusters.
There are over three hundred stars in the Beehive (the Webb Society Handbook claims 2000). It has been estimated that over a hundred of its stars are brighter than our Sun, and in fact (as Burnham points out) if the Sun were a member of this group, it would be a very modest member indeed, at about 10.9 magnitude.
I did a constellation painting (scroll right past the bayview) for my sister (who is a Cancer) + messed up with the stars (it's the black leaf shape. Note to self: be patient! let the layer dry next time! x_x)... which after doing a little more research on the crab formation, turned out to be right where the M44/Beehive is.
But that's not why you should name it thus, but rather, for the you'll get from everyone who hears you've got a fish named Beehive.
