I was told today that this kid on my team called 911 twice this morning and hung up both times. They called back and his dad answered. The reason the kid called 911? He got an erection and didn't know what to do. I wish I was making this up.

Speaking of excited, I just got a new whiteboard today. It's so big...
Studio Audience: How big was it?
It was so big, it covers an entire blank.
Ok, enough of my match game fantasy. The whiteboard is actually 4 feet by 8 feet. Yes, it is enormous, and yes, it is amazing. I wish I could tell you how excited I am about this. Then again, you probably all have grossly overexaggerated ideas (think more jumping up and down giddy and less sexual.)

No, I'm quite sure I started the reference when I named the thread. I decided to reply to Travis's continuation of it in a way that I thought would be fun is all. Would you have rathered the rest of the thread been a line for line posting of the movie?

But there should be less of it in college, or at least less of the petty annoying crap like "did you hear who made out with who last weekend?!?" But Cyan is right - you can find it pretty much everywhere.
I was just glad to get away from the losers who didn't want to be there, and whose parents forbade them from dropping out. So they just coasted through, making life hell for the nerds like me in high school. *shudder* Was so happy to be in university with other intelligent people who wanted to do something in life.
No comment on the nipples other than it's been a while since I saw Meet the Parents and don't remember the quote.
Ye uni is better than highschool but you still get idiots .
I go to a school with a crapload of jocks! YAY
I wasted all my mtgo tickets, because I suck at life.
I did 2 9th booster drafts and lost, because I suck, and then I sold two of my rares from that draft and made the deck from WoTC site that combined two 9th precons.
I decided to do so after I grabbed a Magnivore from a draft.
I bought almost all the deck in one shot, but I had to shop around for Nekratalls, but I didn't get jipped on them.
Cruel Edict sells for 1 ticket each on MtGO. (Magnivore sells for 2)
I am still getting into the swing of the deck, but it is doing about as expected...tons of removal...like woah...and its fun to play.

Yes there should be less of it in college. Colllege is a so-called "institute of higher learning" and acting like a 10th grader is a complete turn-off. College can be both a blessing and a curse.
And with that, I go off to write my 5 page paper on the implicit problems in the Consitution. I am the king of procrastination.
the thing about people who go to college is that a lot of them were forced to act a certain way because of their parents...then they get to college and all of that goes out the window.
This has always been my thoughts on people in college:
"They start out in kindergarten learning how to read and identify but they play all day and act like...well Kindergarteners. Then they continue with learning, slowly realizing what is right and what is wrong. They do this for another 12 years until they are knowledgable enough and responsible enough to engage in higher learning on their own. Their parents have instilled the way of society...in most cases...into them so they understand the proper way to act in a social situation. They go to class...do their homework...and when they engage in social situations....the dumbasses are right back in Kindergarten again!!"
And thus ends this lesson for today....I hope you all learned something?
Good day!:)

I guess we learned that you're not a fan of college kids
That does make some sense..kids whose parents didn't let them make their own decisions, etc., growing up..often get to college and have no idea how to take care of themselves, because they've never had to take care of themselves.
Kristina, cool... I want a laptop but I'm too broke to get one. Oh well. Hopefully before next year Uni I'll have one. Hey, I know I'm a girl but can I be one of your knights? Swords rule...
Anyways, I can't wait to get into University and leave behind all the stupid people who wouldn't be able to get in. That's one large step towards losing the annoying people. First year will suck the most because the people just intelligent to get in but have no idea what to do are there. Usually 1/3 of the people or so drop out after that first year so that makes me happy. YAY!
Response to urzassedatives from LONG before in other thread: I didn't even fleece a noob for those cards. He's a guy who plays a fair bit and just didn't care about them. I've been to his place since and played cards with him and his friends. They have actually been playing for quite a few years. Not particularly great players or decks but definitely not noobs.
The only prob was waiting for people to come and they were all Mormon and very against sex and stuff. I don't have anything against Mormons but listening to their views for an evening is slightly annoying to me. That and playing against the same deck for 3 hours sucks... and he was particularly quiet so I found myself quite bored... Blah, and now Mike's forgotten his red/white deck there and we have to go back and play with them for another night so he can get it.
After that I am leaving Calgary, rarely to return.
10 more sleeps 'til I go home!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *is terribly homesick now*

Ah, but you do forget about the seemingly innocent relationship between North American colleges and athletes.

I can understand the sentiment... I'm agnostic, and I live in an Irish Catholic family. You'd be surprised about the things I've learned about myself. Apparently I'm going to hell someday, and I'm the spawn of Satan. Who knew, right?
BTW, I just realized that you are Mike's Robynne... You shoulda seen the look on my face.
Kristina - I'd be a knight, but I'm a tad too uncoordinated for swordwork.
And for the record, I'm fine with being a dumbass when with my closest friends, but I don't think I could refrain from killing myself if I acted that way all the time... :slant:
I keep hearing about that movie..what makes it so great? I don't know much about the show Firefly anyway, so...
It's hard for me to encompass, mentally, Mormons that play Magic, since they're supposed to avoid all addictive substances, etc. It's not surprising that, while playing Magic, they'd harp at people about other addictions...that's not shocking at all, unfortunately.
lil'akroma: As long as you avoid the athletes at the school, college should be a great experience.
Sigh, my wife's ex stopped working, and now we stopped getting his child support. As such, I can't afford to buy cards to play at States Maybe I can convince people to donate cards to me. Or loan them to me..over a really long distance..or something. It's just really frustrating to me, as I haven't really played any tournaments in about 8 months, and I miss it very much.
I think this very well might be one of my most active weeks on the board in the last six months. I can't think of a time I was more active here other than the great clan war near-miss.
Um...picked up Lost: Season 1 on dvd last week. Cool show, although not quite the nailbiter I thought it was going to be. A little too flashback heavy for me at some parts.

LMAO. Did you miss the entire vote to let me in? The entire argument about Mike's (tom) name as it would confuse ppl as Mike (crazed) is my bf?
Anyways, a lot must make much more sense to you now...
Tawnos: I so did not understand that last "sentence".
Cyan: Meet the Parents was hilarious because it's a guy who "meets her parents" and keeps getting in trouble cuz he lies. Her dad is a retired CIA agent so yeah. Great movie that I suggest you watch some time you want a good laugh. BTW, sucks that you're losing out on the child support. If you need to borrow cards that I'm not using or want to work out a trade just lmk. I'll help you out if I can.
Sorry to hear that Cyan. We're kinda tight on money too as we've got 2 ravenous little boys to feed (it's making a difference in the grocery bills) and I'm working on getting my business up and running. Hopefully with RAV I'll start actually turning a profit. About the cards, I'd loan you some from inventory, but then I couldn't sell them since I only sell mint cards. And I have a feeling you want to play with the hot stuff... which I need to keep in inventory so I can sell it. If you can post your decklist maybe I can loan you some stuff out of my own collection, though.
I was flipping through a giant pile of stuff in my own collection and found 4 foil Plow Unders and 4 BB Plow Unders. Doh! I should have found those when they were worth something a few months ago!
I'm too dirty to be a knight, KristLynn, but good luck!
I started playing MODO for a while but then decided to switch back to physical Magic. My main reason for trying MODO was because I liked being able to draft and play sealed 24/7, whenever I felt like it, without having to go like 45 minutes away to the card shop (that's how long it takes to get to there from downtown Chicago using public transportation :(). I went to my first FNM ever last month and I was hooked on paper Magic again. I wish it wasn't so far away. I wanted to go to the release event this Friday, but the Nine Inch Nails concert here in Chicago is that same night. I choose NIN, it's my first concert ever
I think the main thing I regret about MTGO is the fact that I've spent money on it and now that I'm doing paper Magic again the digital cards have become useless. No one ever wants to trade you physical cards for digital cards. Not only that, but the prices are really screwy on MTGO. Kokusho and Cranial Extraction go for $6 each, Kagemaro goes for $15 last time I was on (last month), and Pernicious Deed goes for $20+.
