There's something lacking in the curve of this deck. It looks good cardswise, but it might have trouble making use of turn 2 most effectively. Sligh really needs to curve out.
The archetype "Counterpost" has always been blue, green, white.
Also, there's no one from Macedonia in the top 10 DCI world rankings
How does everyone like my new avvy?
Ur avvy rocks, go go electrolyze!
Archetypes? who needs archtypes? Its not like every deck needs to be a netdeck of a good deck. I always seem to be able to create my own archetype... but wait. does that mean that whenever you build a new deck you create a new archetype?
Hate to say it wuffles, but I've never liked the art for electrolyze. The fact that it featured a selesnya guildmage was just too much of a turnoff. Electrolyze is such a cool card and it had to feature such a dorky, and non-izzet lookin' guy. Yeah, I know they have to show the target of the spell if they're gonna show anyone, but, ....

Well, the selesnya do have lots of little 1/1's to fry

I've probably asked this question before, but there has been a passage of time since (if I did) and a large change of members.
Anyways; what kind of player do you consider yourself (Timmy, Johnny, Spike)? How extreme are you?
I'm a spike. I've played in over 20 ptqs (1 top 8) and 2 gps (0 day 2s). I'd attribute my moderate failures (I've only had a losing record twice, but anything short of t8 is awful IMO.) to lack of practice and tired misplays.
I run unsanctioned drafts at my college for a small profit, (They want to moneydraft for some reason...) and have concluded that I'm probably going to be winning at least 75% of them. I also play at FNM drafts when I'm lucky (surprisingly often), but I always get mana troubles at inopportune times.

Umm, i kno i should kno what johnnies and timmies and such are, but im a combo player, johnny, if i remember correctly. I have no idea what a spike is, anybody care to enlighten me?
My decks are usually competitive combo decks, most recent ones are underworld dreams and niv-moil
I've won 2 PTQ's, Top 4'ed in two, and top 8'ed in one.
In the three regionals I've played in, I have been 9th, 9th, and 3rd.
In the one Nationals I have played in, I got pwned.
I like winning, but I just can't be bothered playing the "best deck". I was the guy playing G/B death cloud during Mirrodin block. I was the guy playing Black/white control in Kamigawa block. And I'm the guy playing Izzet Machinegun just coz it rules
Also, if they are permissible, I'm also heavily vorthos-driven in my enjoyment of the game, but more than even wanting to win or appreciate art, I want to design cards. I guess that makes me a "Mark."
I like to play to experience the different ranges of design possibilities of magic, and I like to approach cards from the perspective of thier abilities, flavor, art, title, and casting cost all fitting together. I'm really more of a designer than a player.
I'm a Spike/Timmy. I like to win, but not just for the sake of winning. I like to win with big creatures (12/12 Terravores, anyone?). Right now, I'm playing Aggro-Loam and Affinity for extended.
Because the art sometimes really captures and conveys the meaning of the card in a nearly ikonic fashion. Also, Magic card art is its own genre and therefore has a unique standard of judgement. Even if there are better artists elsewhere, magic art is its own thing.

Like Janet Reno streaking through your wet dream.
Not cool.
It's well animated, though.
Hah, yeah, it was Spanglegluppet that did it for me. He may be the most evil looking kid I have ever seen, but good with the animated avvies

I am very easy to please when it comes to avatars and banners - I think if I had to vote, CharlieD would be the number one shopper on 'sal.
But Spiral asked me to post in his shop, and I only needed a simple izzety avvy, hehe

Yeah...I'm so glad The Izzet is so good at making cinders of saprolings. I've never liked those tree-huggers (life churchers?)...
Shard Pheonix, Electrolyze, Pyroclasm, Niv himself, Tibor and Lumia, all sorts of good stuff!
And also good ol' Jaya.
Everybody loves a good barbeque!
mmm, kebabs

Ahh, thx for clearing it up. Im a johhny/spike then. But if there is a card with amazing art, and it is playable, ill try to run it.

I just don't get Vorthos', lol.
There are many, more talented artists in the world than at Wizards - so what the hell is the point of playing just for the art
