How to Join: Pick a High Mage who does not have an apprentice, and you may became said High Mage's apprentice. Otherwise, I shall assign you. Post this on our thread.

High mages are veteran Izzet members who've been here a long time and are well respected for their posting habits.
Acolytes are next down the chain. They've been around for a while and serve as a bridge between apprenticeship and High Magery.
Apprentices are newer members who've generally yet to prove themselves.

Each High Mage has at most one Acolyte and one Apprentice. When all current High Mages have an Acolyte and an Apprentice and a new member wishes to join, one Acolyte will be promoted to the position of High Mage, making the Apprentice under them an Acolyte and another Apprentice their Acolyte as well.

Oh, I have a new deck concoction to share with the Izzet Clan, one they'll find interesting: my U/R weenie beats!


I know it looks like a pile of utter jank (and mostly is), but it's better than you might think. It has outrun my RDW deck more than a few times (Unstable Mutation on a Cloud Sprite is SOME GOOD) and has powered through control decks like a leaf blower through... uh... leaves.

Oh, and Denizen is just for *****s, since I randomly slam it down in the late late LATE game, and win off of it (no joke).

Steel Golem, btw, is a HAUS. He just laughs at other aggro decks as he stands there, a 3/4 wall that attacks back. It's crazy.

Alright. In my book that is an announcement of jubilation. But seriously, good to see your keyboard is back to normal. What would you do without it? Well goodnight guys.

BD: On you deck wouldnt making it part snow and useing Phrexian Iron Foot? just a thought. ok here is a deck i just made on the fly at work. it seems to be fun.

@Niv: I don't believe the Ironfoot is too necessary, anywhere, to be honest.

He's actually an amazing card, but not in this deck. Phyrexian Ironfoot is a card I use in artifact based beatdown decks (he's hawt with Arcum Dagsson). However, in the U/R Beats deck, he costs too much mana. <_<

Well yeah, I agree he's good, but the 'Foot just isn't what it has been made out to be in the area... maybe it's just me...

Edit: Yeah, and what the hell, I'll present an opportunity to the clan to DESIGN MY NEXT SIG! I had requested something... entertaining ... from wamyc, but he hasn't been around for quite some time now.

It might just be you. Every time I've played him, he's been great. He's like a slightly better Steel Golem. :xd:

I always thought Phyrexian Ironfoot was cool. He reminds me of Phyrexian War Beast, which is fun. I've been beat down by him a few times for sure. I've just never had any. The only coldsnap cards I have are Rite of Flame and Cryoclasm.

I'm curious. What kind of music do you guys like?

Music, eh? The only thing I'll allow to touch my ears would be the horribly distraut sounds of Classic Rock, Death Metal, etc.

Music.... hmm... I like me some jazz, blues, some decent rock (the older stuff, and some newer things), alternative (Kaiser Chiefs, Talking Heads, etc), and some big band (Big Bad Voodoo Daddy for those that know them).

Sorry Niv, didn't see that bit there. Uh, I can see that working, though Bloom in a Jhoira deck is... silly to say the least. I still like this sequence of plays:
Turn 1: Land
Turn 2: Land, Signet
Turn 3: Land, Suspend Kraken
Turn 4: Land, Jhoira, Suspend Chronicler

Damn. I listen to blues and jazz too! The blues I listen to is pre-war stuff like Robert Johnson and Charlie Patton. Jazz I like is Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis, and Charles Mingus. Really though, I just haven't listened to enough. Its hard to find and most people my age can't stand that kind of music.

Ravus, what do you consider classic rock? I like Bob Dylan, The Band, and The Velvet Underground.
