I used to use the dark skin, and while I'd occasionally run into one or another sig or avatar that had nasty white pixelation borders it was fairly rare. I eventually changed off of it for visibilty purposes. Which, ironically is why I tried it in the first place. I was being bothered by the screen glare and eventually changed back the default skin to get a better(or more effective) contrast.
Looks like the next clan contest round will start soon, like in one day. It looks like clickslither is going down, to no one's surprise.
And yeah, I'm on the dark skin now and everything is that little bit more cool. It's like a proxt tattoo or something. But the hell on the eyes is when you switch over to a light side page like wikipedia all quick and you're like "****! the facts are blinding me!"

Or Facebook. Or Gatherer. Or wizards.com. Or most mail applications. Or most price guide sites. Yeah...
Pretty much the biggest downside...but the dark skin's soooo smexy!
I've always wondered how many people changed their settings for the posts per page thing. I get the impression that a good number of people go for the max on each page - at least more people than use the dark skin.
I still use the default skin. I've always liked it for some reason.
The contrasts is much too sharp with the default skin.
Check out Bardu's sig with the dark skin...it's ****ing sexy!
Thanks! I hadn't noticed that before.
Also, I sucked it up at PTQ Lincoln. I went 1-2. I didn't see hardly any good hands all tournament. Game 1 I mulliganed down to 3 and won, with one card left in my library. I only kept one 7 card hand. I had several 5 card hands that in retrospect I should have mulliganed. However, I remain confident in the deck. I'll get some better draws at PTQ Des Moines.
EDIT: look at my cube! Comments, people! I need them!
I don't know enough about cube drafting to evaluate your decisions. It does look like you thought things through, so props for that. I hope to try my hand at the format sometime.
At the very bottom of each page, on the left, there is a little tab that you can click. The forum default is "Default Style" (surprisingly enough), but I prefer "Dark." When I log in on a computer that isn't mine, I use the light skin just for a change, and because it is more interesting than the default.
I was originally playing the UB version with Watery Grave, fetchlands, and Tolarian Winds. I think Tolarian Winds is more powerful and just plain better than Tireless Tribe. But, the Tribe has a few things going for it. Besides being a discard outlet, it is a creature and can be used with Cabal Therapy and Dread Return. The main reason I switched over though was because this deck just can't afford a 2 drop. With fourteen mana and as many mulligans as I take, I can't even cast Tolarian Winds in many of the games I play or at least at a relevant time. The Tribe has played quite well. I can keep a four land hand with Tribe and a dredger, and I probably wouldn't keep a four land hand with Tolarian Winds and a dredger.
For those interested, my signature comes from a painting by El Greco circa 1596-1600.
Clickslither is out - round 6 begins - 3 are left! I think it's best to just quote the criterion for this round from the source. This round ends soon - in one day, so make yourself heard!
This round is all about the broad view of the game and each contestant's impact on the game.
Consider what each of these cards has brought to the game, the design space they take up.
Consider the flavour in contrast to the function, their relation to the colour pie.
Consider where these cards led to.
Consider how these cards interact with the card pool they were made for, the card pool that we have now, the possibilities for the future.
Consider how much fun each is to play, or to play against.
In the Grand Scheme of all things Magic:the Gathering, which of these cards is a weak link?
necropotence and animate dead are both very powerful - one is a super cheap reanimator spell that powers a vintage combo and the other is the premiere card draw spell in black, second only to yawgmoth's bargain. Conquer has the most meh art in my opinion. All of them are in thier correct color, with some argument that conquer is in the wrong color (annex) However, I think conquer could be reprinted just as is today even if annex is also appropriate. Necropotence has a black mark insofar as it was very unfun in its day. Conquer is also unfun however, in that Land destruction (and by extension land stealing) is the least liked kind of deck. Counquer has also never had a moment in the sun.
I think in a lot of ways conquer just falls short. Both of the other cards are kind of exemplars and have a big place in Magic's overall history. My vote is for conquer.
@Bardu: way to out-culture all of us. My sig comes from... some stuff I photoshopped from Google images.
Necropotence was not only insanely powerful, but it was also wickedly alluring enough for MaRo to have spawned one of the most powerful "fixed" cards ever printed: Yawgmoth's Bargain.
Conquer...was rendered almost completely obsolete by the cheaper Annex. In the words of Mako Tsunami from YGOAbridged, "At least the ocean will never leave me... ... ... ... ...Why won't you ever answer me, ocean?"
I have a mishra deck online that is very budget and let me tell you, mindless automaton is great because you really want the carddrawing in this deck. The baubles are too pricey online for some reason, but they are perfect sexy tech because the only thing stopping this deck is card draw. Cloud key should consider itself seconded as totally worth testing out, as well as mind stone.
You should keep your dreams of epochrasite alive, for that card is truly the tech. Also, the appropriate number of cards to run for each card is 2. You want to have a diverse field of effects in the small amount of slots that are not signets and spellbombs, and 2 is the perfect number - never run three of anything, and only run four of the best cards.
I'll take some of your advice. THis deck is a CASUAL EXTENDED deck based on Mishra AND Atog/Megatog, so don't recommend anything that has to do with tournaments.
Also, there are only a handful of sigs that I've seen that look bad with the dark skin...it's highly underrated.
Check out Bardu's sig with the dark skin...it's ****ing sexy!
I really forgot how awsome the dark skin is. I now have to consider carefully which skin I want...
Come over to the Dark Skin...
WTF?
Do you have nothing better to do
Dark is better
Hell ya

QFT.

Here's what I played:
4 City of Brass
2 Tarnished Citadel
4 Cephalid Coliseum
4 Bridge from Below
4 Careful Study
4 Breakthrough
3 Cabal Therapy
3 Dread Return
1 Darkblast
4 Golgari Grave-Troll
4 Stinkweed Imp
4 Tireless Tribe
4 Putrid Imp
3 Ichorid
2 Cephalid Sage
1 Flame-kin Zealot
1 Akroma, Angel of Wrath
4 Chain of Vapor
4 Pithing Needle
4 Leyline of the Void
1 Cabal Therapy
1 Ichorid
1 Ancestor's Chosen
Since the tournament, I've been testing:
-1 Darkblast
-1 Cephalid Sage
+2 Golgari Thug
@bardu: Tireless tribe seems a little wierd of a choice. Do you really need another discard outlet?
EDIT: look at my cube! Comments, people! I need them!
Edit: Never mind. Damn, that's hot.
Edit II of DOOM!: Ow. FaceBook hurts my eyes now.
NP. You should keep the dark skin!
I don't know enough about cube drafting to evaluate your decisions. It does look like you thought things through, so props for that. I hope to try my hand at the format sometime.
Yes...it does. Say, you should PM me a link to your FB. I wish to bother you in multiple channels simultaneously!
How do you change skins?

4 Secluded Glen
Creatures (21)
4 Nightshade Stinger
4 Spellstutter Sprite
2 Oona's Prowler
3 Pestermite
4 Scion of Oona

2 Mistbind Clique
4 Peppersmoke
4 Broken Ambitions
4 Nameless Inversion

1 Card...?
Earwig Squad in SB for lack of better idea...
Thoughts?
EDIT: Eyeblight's Ending in SB against Doran? Ego Erasure in SB against aggro/champions?
EDIT EDIT: Latchkey Faerie? But where? Sage's Dousing over Broken Ambitions?

Animate Dead set the standard for black reanimation, with Dance of the Dead, Reanimate, Exhume, Zombify, Dread Return, and Makeshift Mannequin as other format-shaping spells in the same vein.
Conquer...was rendered almost completely obsolete by the cheaper Annex. In the words of Mako Tsunami from YGOAbridged, "At least the ocean will never leave me... ... ... ... ...Why won't you ever answer me, ocean?"
Conquer FTL.
Basically, Conquer unless I say otherwise.
You do realise that we don't even have another day to submit our cards, Tiki man? I guess you can change your mind, but you can't change your vote
Cube draft sounds cool.
I saw somebody elses idea earlier for a Mishra deck. So I copied it . How do you guys think this looks:
4 Mishra, Artificer Prodigy
4 Atog
3 Megatog
4 Disciple of the Vault
3 Gemini Engine
4 Myr Retriever
4 Foresee
4 Coldsteel Heart
4 Mishra's Bauble
4 Frost Marsh
4 Tresserhorn Stinks
3 Izzet Boilerworks
4 Great Furnace
2 Seat of the Synod
4 Vault of Whispers
1 Swamp
1 Mountain
1 Steam Vents
So, how do you guys think it would work and do you think it is worth the $26 I'm going to have to pay for it (plus shipping).
I'm also revising my Niv-Mizzet/Ophidian Eye deck with some creature removal and blocking creatures.
It looks weird. People have made better Mishra decks for Standard.

I understand that the really good cards for that deck (Epochrasite, Ancestral Visions) are expensive rares...but looking at the above decklist is painful. Can it even beat rareless Kithkin decks?
EDIT: Here are some budget cards that I think would work really well with Mishra:
Booby Trap says "I win the game" when you activate Mishra's Bauble...Just hope your opponent isn't playing with too many basics!
Chromatic Star
Moonglove Extract
Cloud Key (Slightly more expensive, but amazing...naming "artifact," of course)
Sculpting Steel (Price varies...shouldn't be too much...but it's really good)
Mindless Automaton (Double your pleasure...double your fun...)
Serrated Arrows
Bottle Gnomes
Coldsteel Heart
Icy Manipulator
Juggernaut
Mind Stone
You should keep your dreams of epochrasite alive, for that card is truly the tech. Also, the appropriate number of cards to run for each card is 2. You want to have a diverse field of effects in the small amount of slots that are not signets and spellbombs, and 2 is the perfect number - never run three of anything, and only run four of the best cards.
4 Mishra, Artificer Prodigy
4 Atog
4 Megatog
4 Disciple of the Vault
2 Myr Retriever
4 Foresee
4 Dark Banishing
2 Chromatic Star
2 Mishra's Bauble
2 Cloud Key
2 Serrated Arrows
3 Tresserhorn Stinks
3 Frost Marsh
3 Izzet Boilerworks
2 Seat of the Synod
4 Great Furnace
4 Vault of Whispers
3 Mountain
2 Swamp
Here are a list of combos:
Mishra, Artificer Prodigy + Atog + Chromatic Star = 2 cards, +4/+4 to Atog
Mishra, Artificer Prodigy + Atog + Serrated Arrows= -6/-6 total and in three turns, +4/+4 to Atog (sacrifice the Arrows to Atog before they make you sacrifice them)
Mishra, Artificer Prodigy + Atog + Myr Retriever = Sacrifice Retrievers to Atog, giving it +4/+4. Bring back any two different artifacts. Play them both and fetch their brothers out of your graveyard. Then sacrifice them all to atog, giving it +8/+8, equaling +12/+12 total. With Disciple of the Vault, you also deal 6 damage to total 18 damage. If you fetch the cheapest artifiacts (Mishra's Bauble and Chromatic Star), this can cost 3 mana!
Disciple of the Vault + Anything = Lots of extra damage.
