Dredge that deck!
Uhh. Uhh. Uhh. Uhh.
Combo all over your face!!!
I don't like the idea of a deck that wins so quickly and plays maybe two, three spells and sneaks by most counterspells by using dozens of activated and triggered abilities. I gotta respect the results, though...
bridge god what a monstrosity. ill say this now i hate that deck but am willing to help. Layline is your best option to save you bridge but it kills bridge as well if i remeber cause dosent bridge say that they have to hit the yard and then u get the token?

Idea was found looking into the past useing the time turner to go to egypt. After study have made improvments to device and are ready for testing. Waiting for Slaker to come back to throw him through it. I hope he turns out better then the elf i captured.

If a card would be put into an opponent's graveyard, remove it from the game instead."
Not the same as Planar Void.

alright alright but werent they talking about layline not the later?
Right, but you were saying that Bridge from Below only works when creatures go to your graveyard. Leyline of the Void only effects your opponents' cards, so there isn't a problem there.
[card=Dismal Failure]"Two magi could trade spells all day and never crown a victor.
The real battle is not one of power but of will.
If your confidence breaks, so too shall you." —Venser[/card]
Of course. Silly me. I keep forgetting that dredge is "public masturbation with graveyard triggers." No offense to anyone who plays it, yourself included.
Yes. We hates the combo decks also.
It is interesting that in almost every other game with a complicated rules set, like D&D, monopoly, and Vs., everyone recognizes that these kind of infinite or near-infinite loops that go against the intentions of the cards (or whatever the components are) are bad and undesirable. Magic is the one game that encourages you to break it open and do nasty things with it - things that clearly show that either God does not exist or that he has removed the mantle of his kind providence from Magic and allowed unspeakable horrors to fill its absence.
Heck, Magic has actually cultivated and appealed to this "break me" spirit, even going so far to design directly for the most problematic areas to cultivate them. At this point, the line between "legitimate synergy" and "utterly borken" is completely blurred. They couldn't draw a line to not be crossed if they wanted to.
So, does anyone think that dredge will result in any bannings? And, seperate question, if it did, what do you think gets the banhammer first? (keeping in mind that the idea would be to not allow a nearly-identical deck to spring up in its place immediately and also to ban as few cards as needed to completely shut down the degeneracy.)
You guys are confusing me. I don't play competitive (except one draft tournament, and probably one more every month or so, but not constructed), just casual, so what is Dredge? I know the keyword, but what does the deck do?

Rapes your nostrils. Very, very quickly.
...
Actually, I don't know exactly either, not having played MTG in about a year. But I get the general idea...but maybe someone else had better explain it instead of me.

It really is an interesting form of degeneracy. As AI pointed out, it doesn't do much of anything, and is the king of non-interactivity. The only way to beat it is to hose the graveyard, or have a faster combo/aggro clock, or to sacrifice a creature to shut down Bridge from Below, or to run really cheap counterspells.
That makes it sound like a lot of options, but it's very easy for dredge to go off, whereas the other player has to have the sac effect, or counterspell, or graveyard hoser at exactly the right time. And even if it fails to go off completely, dredge still poses a risk next turn. Plus all of the crap happens for free essentially. Free creatures you get by dumping your hand into your graveyard.
Yikes, sounds scary. Definetely not my kind of deck. I hate decks that have instant win combos, and I hate decks with early instant win combos more. That's why I like my mishratog deck more than my niv-mizzet/ophidian eye deck- more randomness, more fun to play, and always different results, while with why niv deck its always the same thing.

SHOW ME MORE OF SHADOWMOOR!!!!!!
Shadowmoor rumour season begins! I am happy to see the return of guild mana, which is a cool addition to the game. I also prefer Shadowmoor's darker art to Lorwyn's light. But only time will tell...
I'm stuck with the same situation I presented you guys with two weeks ago. Again, I had requested for this coming weekend off for PTQ Minneapolis. A couple of days ago, the schedule at work had me off. Now, I get to work only to find out that I'm scheduled again. The only difference is that no one has talked to me about it yet. This time around I'm going to let them know immediately that I will be out of town and won't be able to work.
So did everyone hear that Extended rotation changed? Onslaught will be sticking around through next season, and each year one block will rotate out. Compare this to what we previously had, three blocks rotating out every three years.
It's like someone at wizards said to himself: Dragonstorm has been out of play for like a couple months. Let's make another card that can swing for 20, but make it much much cheaper.

I really really really hope they have some (U/R) goodies for us in Eventide! (Since it looks like there are only allied color combos in Shadowmoor, even supporting (G/W) and (R/G), which didn't get "tribal" recognition in Lorwyn Block.)
Oh, and...
OONA.

I suppose if it worked last time, and you didn't do anything differently this time (you already requested time off), just tell them in as few words as possible that you're not going to work that weekend. This job sounds unpleasant...try looking for a new one if that's at all possible.

I heard about it, but since I don't play Extended, I don't really care. It makes sense overall, though.
It's like someone at wizards said to himself: Dragonstorm has been out of play for like a couple months. Let's make another card that can swing for 20, but make it much much cheaper.
The only problem with that plan is that you need to play Buried Alive first, and then you have to have exactly one copy of it in hand when you want to "go off." Not to mention, any combo that gets wrecked by a card that's already in Extended sideboards (Tsabo's Decree) may not make any splash at all.
Or this thing could warp Standard and/or Extended, depending on enablers in Shadowmoor (inevitable).
EDIT: I saw "Partial Morningtide Spoiler (21/301)" and about freaked out, thinking, "Wait! There were only 15 cards in the Preview Booster!" I got fooled by the 20 basic land/1 card gimmick again!
Other awesome observations:
Mutated Spiders!
Weird Elementals!!
Artifact creatures!!! 2/C HYBRID MANA!!!! (My friends think there is going to be a counterspell for U/U/U/!)
This job sounds unpleasant...try looking for a new one if that's at all possible.
I'll get right on that! Really, though, the job isn't too bad. I work some overnight shifts which I don't mind because I'm a night owl anyways. Besides, I can sit in the internet and get paid for it. I just need to convince work that when I tell them I can't work at a certain time, I really mean it. They will find out pretty quick when I start classes in May. Hopefully, I'll be able to dictate my own schedule at that point.
Has anyone ever played the Warhammer tabletop miniature game?
Is it fun?
Will it require lots of monetary upkeep?
Should my friends and I start playing?
Basically, my friend thinks this'll be a replacement hobby for MTG (because I guess I'm too good at MTG) that will require less money to play. But to me, it seems to requre lots of $ anyway...
I said I'll destroy him at any strategy game no matter what. He thinks not. But that's irrelevent information.

Thats the competative version. basically, you pwn people. even if they play hate.
First it discards some cards using Putrid Imp, Tireless Tribe, and/or Cephalid Colosseum.
Then it uses Breakthrough, Cephalid Colosseum, and/or Tolarian Winds to "draw" a lot of cards for cheap, but elects to dredge something "big" like Golgari Grave-Troll or Stinkweed Imp.
In the process, Narcomoeba and Bridge from Below end up in the graveyard, and you get some free weenies.
Once you reach a critical mass, you start sacrificing the Narcomoeba and friends to Cabal Therapy and/or Dread Return for flashback costs, netting an inane amount of 2/2 Zombies from multiple Bridge from Below.
Finally, Flame-Kin Zealot (brought back with Dread Return) gives the lot of rotting corpses +1/+1 and haste FTW.
This usually happens turn three or four.
The ridiculous part about all of this is that the deck only plays two or three spells...and then wins. Counterspells have to be Force Spikes and Spell Snares (for Tolarian Winds) or it's GG.
Ug. That's so...wrong! And so...beautiful!
Sick stuff like that makes life worth loving.
