I have two of the same breed, they are half german short hair pointers and half black labs. They look exactly like black labs. I believe they are about 2-3 months old?

Thanks, wamyc; you inspired me to reevaluate my Cube (it's just been sitting around until some people want to Cube draft), as well as more actively play with it. I need to make it fairly larger, though... I never realized just how small 375 cards really is.

[Imagine scantily-clad women in a leud embrace,
one stretched out and victim to a chokehold of the other,
both with big stupid grins spreading across their faces.]
@ravus: keep in mind that the smaller you make the cube the more condensed your powerful cards are. I don't think you should go over 90 cards per person you expect to be drafting in the upper reaches of the most likely case.
Also, dogs rock because eventually they will listen to you, follow you around, and they actually engage you. Cats are more or less meh to your presence if you are not actually providing food or warmth.
Dogs are also generally stupid, making cats the preferred animal of intelligent people.
Well, I'll admit that they are thought of as stupid, but in terms of actual intelligence I would say dogs are probably smarter. They show more tool-using proclivities in terms of having object fetishes, are more socially responsive and interacting, and understand hierarchy and social order better. And keep in mind that almost every intelligent animal has been shown to also be social.
On a practical level, I don't see any difference of intelligence either. Cats are aloof and neat, though, which in humans is typically a sign of intelligence. But that's as much as I can see as making the case for cats. The smartest dogs are doubtlessly multiple times smarter than the smartest cat (how does recognizing over a hundred individual commands sound?). In a tight spot both cats and dogs tend to react similarly, though dogs show the intelligence to rely on others for help (cats have no benefit to their independence as they are no better at untangling themselves on their own). Both dogs and cats play (a sign of intelligence) and both have about the same amount of raw animal savvy.
Dogs emulate their owners, who are usually as or more stupid than they are. Cats quietly affirm their undeniable superiority by not associating with lesser animals.
I prefer kitties though. My cat is sitting at my feet just sleeping and she's adorable.
Dogs are high maintenance where as cats are really easy to take care of.
I'm allergic to cats, hence that Cats are Evil. But yeah, I own a dog, and he is the Bestest.
And I see no one mentioning Snakes as good pets....:sneaky:
But cats will run away if you don't feed them. And scratch you if you touch them, and swat at your dog if he is curious. And....(Continues rambling on)

If anything, the data are in favor of dogs.
Cats and dogs are smart in different ways. But really, dogs are smart in all the ways that matter. Cats are boring. They don't do anything sleep, walk around, and occasionally climb on unstable objects, play with candles and end up burning houses down, and claw at things. Dogs are more obedient, know what to do and what not to do, and such. Basically, I agree 100%.

I think the opposite, the couple of cats I have had shed as if its going out of style and puke up hairballs constantly. Dogs are happy if you, literally throw a bone at them :D.

Cats play with mice and birds, I say that associating with lesser animals =p

It's because you and your dog are inferior beings.
But really, dogs are quite intelligent, not that cats arent, but dogs are.
Any animal that actively tries to kill itself (whether by chasing after moving vehicles, overeating, or ingesting foreign and/or toxic and/or sharp objects) is unintelligent. (Cats sometimes eat weird things too, but they don't actively seek out harmful materials to consume like 'tard dogs.)

Cats get crushed by cars all the time, they run across the road in front of them, how is a dog any worse?
I own both cats and dogs. I understand where everyone is coming from however the dog I have (two years old) is a newfoundland, is huge, doesn't know his own size, and slobbers everywhere, it's gross from no matter what perspective you're looking at it from. Then the two puppies I have (German Short hair pointers/black labs) are very active and aren't learning discipline well at all. They have three people (mom, brother and myself) all trying to discipline them. We're all pretty consistent, and we've had them since mid October and they still aren't fully potty trained yet. They are cage trained though.
My cats on the otherhand, are all very well mannered. The two at my dads house are a bit of two idiots but, they're still sweet and cuddly when I'm the only person in the room because I know how to take care of them. Though say if my little brother is in the room, all they want to do is hide. Not to mention the Newfoundland would try to eat them (I'm 5'4'', and the dog's head goes to my hip, and he's not done growing yet.)
My cat here at my moms on the other hand, is a very well mannered cat, responds to her name and likes to cuddle with either my mom or myself.
It really depends on the animals you have, I get scratched more by my dogs than I do any of my cats, so in my own personal experiences, cats are 'better' than dogs but I have no problem with either of them.

Donut...pasta?
Pasta.
As George Bush's last act of president he banned all making of videos, didn't you here, it was all over the news
Talk about lame duck.
Also, I just pestered Nick on MSN to ask him to post again. Dunno if it'll work or not.
I'd also like to point out having two puppies at the same time is a hand full.

They do all the work themselves.

I'm glad you said "animal" there, or I would chime in that minions can make fine pets.
wamyc: I understand that, but condensed-awesome versus diversity is the battle being fought in my Cube. I want a wider range of possibilities...

Edit: By the way, dogs only include that which I cannot simply punt into the next yard.

Wait a second.....
I have a yellow lab. Not laboratory, labrador :D.
See you next year!

The bold part is you :p.

While I see where your track of mind is, that really isnt associating because the cat is probably trying to eat them not play with them :p.

QFT.
Also, I don't own a cat, and don't really want to. I just admire them.

Cats run across the street, as if they didn't care if they got hit.
Dogs run towards the car, as if they want to get hit.
Dogs rarely run towards a car, only beehind it, plus dogs are obediant, you can teach them not to run away.
