I actually really want to mod this, though I'm not sure if we're going to want a setup closer to a Basic game or closer to a Normal/Specialty game. At any rate, I have ideas either way.
oh why is it when i suggested this in the last thread no one payed attention but whatever if we can get one going i'd play granted it'd be my first ever game of mafia but still whatever i like tring new things
I have thoughts about Summoning Trap. So I built a deck. It's in the Goldfishing Phase of Testing. I need help with it. Anyone willing to help can check this thread.
idk i think i like the standard version with cobra's and etc. to speed it up but that's me
I like it, but I don't quite see the use of the Sphinx of Jwar Isle outside of it's body. Also Volcanic Fallout > Pyroclasm, I.M.H.O.
it's the sheer fact that it has shroud and yeah it's still a decent flying beatstick
on the fact of pyroclasm over fallout i need pryoclasm cause my deck has a slow start and it's easier to cast then fallout's double red in fact i was thinking of adding more pyroclams to be honest

I see....Yeah, I play casual for the most part, so my first thought when you said 'double red' was Cascade Bluffs, followed closely by Graven Cairns.... Heh. Yeah, Pyroclasms work fine I guess, I just prefer the Instant uncounterable ones....

ah casual players lol
alright will i do generally prefer fallout it's just in this meta i need to some what keep up and i also need to somewhat conserve my life total
I like the Liege because he serves as an easy way to get the blue beaters out when I use up my traps, as well as a way to drop Progenitus w/out a Summoning Trap.
I dig the Slagwurm.....It's a Slagwurm...
I freaking adore how this deck dodges half the burn. Prog, Slagwurm, Kalonian, Inkwell, Mossbridge, and Isleback all mock burn ruthlessly while swinging in for marginal to massive damage.
I run QfAS because I seem to run out pretty quick with all the fetching going on. I have one as a preemptive measure.

The shroud sells Jar Jar Sphinx, plain and simple. With Path to Exile, Terminate, and other spot removal running rampant in the format, a finisher that effectively blanks all that removal is simply awesome.

Yeah, I'm a bit perturbed that the mafia-heads in my clan are in several games right now, as well as CCMl|l. Cyan is even running a game. . . where is the focus
I could never do that. Like those guys who are playing several games of MODO at once, it hurts my tummy
That doesn't surprise me. I always thought they were going for a bit too much at first.
They probably aren't in stores trying to make profit on them, but on Magictraders (which has the most accurate actual price guide out there for magic cards) they are...
* Zazirik checks the price to make sure...
Oh, I was wrong, they are about $18 now.
I personally see them settling at around $12 myself.

Yeah, I can see them going for 12$. It's because is was so overrated when it first came out. Everyone was pricing it at like 35$! I think the card is pretty jank. That's just my opinion though.

I checked the site my local awesome store uses for prices, and Lotus Cobra sells there for $24, not $40. Still too much for me though.

Link is borked.
But like I said just wait and the price of Lotus Cobra will continue to decline unless of course some (good) combo comes out that uses it, then it will shoot back up in price of course.

I don't think I would call it overrated, just overhyped. when the set was first spoiled there was alot of potential that wasn't nullified until the complete spoiling of the set. I will say that it's a powerful card and should be lightning bolted given the first time it hits the board.

I knew when the card's supporters started talking about it "being a house in UG Tempo" that the card would never see play. That archetype is eternally dead, like how people hail the comeback of White Weenie all the time. 95% of the time, with those two decks, the hype is nothing more than hope.

I could not be more pleased. People were so smugly sure of themselves that the card was soooooo awesome and was the second coming of.... I dunno, Rofellos or something like that. I knew the card would have little use after playing with it in the prerelease. It was sick one of the three games I played with it. In all the other games I got it, it was a Jhessian Lookout.
hey guys just got back from fnm and i went 4-1 losing to a esper control deck
my matchups in order were: bant midrange, gw landfall, bant midrange, esper control, and jund and i ended up placing 3rd winning 4 packs and getting a sadistic sacrament, sphinx of the lost truth, misty rainforest, and a spinx of jwar isle
Lotus Cobra had a good deal of hype based on many crazy theorycraft situations where you would max out the number of mana produced from Lotus Cobra to ramp into crazy stuff by like turn 3.
It's a lot of what Talara's Battalion went through. Talara's Battalion was hyped because people theorycrafted it to be a ridiclous cheap beater for green, but when Eventide finally came out and people actually got to play the card, it went from one of the best cards in the set to, "Man this card SUCKS!"
Obviously, Lotus Cobra hasn't tanked extremely low like Talara's Battalion did, but you get the idea.

White Weenie is back, apparently for a good while. Kithkin and Soldiers have proven to be contenders in the most recent Standard seasons.
When cast on turn two, it definitely is worth any removal you're packing. The possibility of a turn three Baneslayer Angel or Bituminous Blast is too real (and dangerous) to ignore.
In recent news, my laptop is unusable, so I'm going to have to use campus computers to get online like I did for most of last summer.
Also, I'm going to try to get an internship for next school year so I'll have a real job that's relevant to my major. Wish me luck!
2. Clem is currently lacking an Acolyte. Do we need to fix this?
These are no longer problems.
I have a really cool idea for a ten-person Mafia game, but that would likely involve inviting a couple people from outside the clan. I think it would be OK if other members (maybe only leaders such as Sir_Auron and Queklain) of the Triple Alliance were to participate. The idea would be much more fun as a Specialty game, but I could easily turn it into a Basic-style game instead.

I can't afford cobras. They're like $40 apiece where I go. And I definitely can't shell out $120 for them...Too bad though.

That is way too much for a Cobra...They are only actually running about $20 a piece right now.
Have you ever given thought of trading online here on MTGS? It's very helpful and most of the people are nice .
