@Oil Spill: That's just fantastic.(/sarcasm) Sad to hear about this, and this is one of the reasons I don't watch tv or go to theaters.
@Standard: that brilliant ultimatum deck seems ridiculous...
My OTV deck has been performing marginally well. I got to test against Vamps on Friday. We played like 6-8 casual games w/ sideboard for me. My op (who I have nicknamed 'That Guy') beat me every time but once, where I dug myself to like 6 cards left in deck. I killed four Nocturni with Celestial Purges and Days, and won following an Open the Vaults for most of my graveyard and gaining like 30 or so life off Filigree Angel. I won the game and learned a valuable piloting lesson: Against Vamps, my best chance lies in answering every 3+ power guy he has and wiping the field whenever he has 2+ creatures. If he drops Nighthawk, I absolutely MUST kill it. And Journey to Nowhere is my absolute best friend ever.
My sideboard swaps:
• -2 Executioner's Capsule
•-1 Architects of Will
•-1 OTV
•+4 Celestial Purge
I realized some problems I had been having with the deck, and have modified it accordingly:
I'm still tweaking card quantities, but there are a few things I won't budge on: Wall of Omens won't go below 3. Pilgrim's Eye won't go below 3. Journey won't go below 3. Path stays at 4. Chalice won't go below 3. SoLT stays at 3.

I have Deckbuilder's ADD.
I always liked running four Filigree Angel's in that deck, especially since that is such a huge part of the deck.
Maybe, but as a four-of, it shows up too often and doesn't do enough. As a two-of, I always see at least one (so far), and it gets discarded to SoLT as intended. Four just seems excessive when I'd rather see removal or a cycler/Pilgrim's Eye.

I've been totally hit with so much school work, its tough to post in the clan thread that often, but i'll try to be better.
Recently I've gotten into the Briggs-Meyers evaluation thingy, which is basically that everyone has four different categories, and each of those categories has two different options. Each order of those options is a different type of personality. If you want a better explanation, look it up on google.
Hi everyone, what's up? Sorry for my lack of posting recently. I'm just really getting settled into my new place and new routine of doing things now so my forum activity everywhere has really taken a hit. The job is awesome so far. When Rise of the Eldrazi dropped we opened a lot of that which was kinda fun until we had to stay 2 and a half hours overtime to finish it. That was kind of a drag.
It's good to hear you've settled in all right. I wish my job entailed opening packs of magic.

I've been playing a lot of type 2 recently, two events a week down here. This weekend was a good one for me. Two top four finishes in a row. I put my RDW to the side for Chapin Control and have been doing well with it here. I even beat one of my worst mu's two times in a row on Saturday. RDW in rounds one and two lol. Though after sb its kind of hard for them not to scoop to Firewalker. Even with the black splash, Negate and Cancel are techy. Has anyone else seen that new Naya Allies list in action? Its surprisingly decent. Akoum Battlesinger is just retarded in it. I lost to it in the swiss but beat the same opponent in the top eight.
There are a few people in my local meta that play Naya allies, it really isn't too bad. I think that RDW got a lot better with devastating summons, I don't really think it's that great of a card, but it allows for some pretty sick shenanigans if you've got a bushwhacker.
Also, is Chapin control the same as tapout control? If so, that deck is seriously fun to play.
I'm expecting The $800 Solution ® (the nickname I've given the American Gladiators/WUr Planeswalker control/whatever) to be everywhere in PTQs and whatnot. Simply because everyone is so sick and tired of playing Jund that they just want to play a new deck that can actually stand up to Jund and not autolose to everything else.
I wish I could afford to play that deck, it looks pretty sick.
It doesn't seem that surprising to me. What did you think i'd be?
Also, why do you think F is particularly surprising? I think ISFP describes my personality very well.
Edit:

What is this American Gladiators deck, can I find a thread about it? Also, about the 10,000 posts, you should think about it this way. You are already 3 quarters of the way to 10,000. So your almost there!
ISFP's have the so-called "shadow" functions for Introverted Thinking(helps problem solving), Introverted Sensing(gathers information and compares it to past events), and Extraverted intuition(makes you consider other possibilities by asking "what if" questions), so I don't think it's too unnatural for ISFP's to play magic.(as long as they're under stress:p)
Also, for those who don't feel like looking up what a shadow function is, a shadow function is a trait that shows up in an individual when they're under stress.
Its literally Pat Chapin's list with a few very minor changes. For reference.
My list is only different in that the Celestial Purge in the main is a second copy of PTE. And the Perimeter Captain and Mind Control in the side turned into two Celestial Purge since red and black are both huge at the T&T storefront.
@Pheon: I'm pretty sure they are the same if not extremely similar decks.
Geuss who opened a box and pulled 3 Gideons and two Vengevines? This guy
I *think* I might try and go for this American Gladiator's deck build, but at the same time, I know I can basically trade the Gideons for anything I want plus someone's hot mother. Also, I thought Vengevine was hot ☺☺☺☺, but I haven't gotten a single offer for them on the trade forums? Que-es-que c'est?

That is some insane luck. I've opened probably over a dozen cases and not once have I seen a box with that percentage of pure cash.
If you are looking to get rid of the Gideons, I may be interested depending on what your looking for. Though first I'd need to get my mail set up so I could receive mail. >_>
Quick Edit: Not sure where you are, but if its an option Troll and Toad is always buying cards like that. I'm pretty sure the buy price for Vengevine is 20 dollars right now. It was when my roommate sold his from the draft to buy dinner that night lol.

Skeptics criticize the terminology of the MBTI as being so "vague and general"[44] as to allow any kind of behavior to fit any personality type. They claim that this results in the Forer effect, where individuals give a high rating to a positive description that supposedly applies specifically to them.
As a psychology major, I have a healthy distrust of any kind of "psychological test" provided by a nonacademic source, especially "personality tests." Even well-constructed personality assessments have poor validity (internal and external) as well as low reliability (notably test-retest), so it stands to reason that one supplied by a random Internet page is doomed to present a most biased view of the individual.
Maybe I should write my term paper on popular views regarding personality tests.

Sexy.
The next Mafia Clan Contest, held later this year, will be a 22-player game allowing players from outside Clans to play. This should prove to be an interesting twist that will surely keep us on our toes!
@ AI: Is there some reason you want to go with FoF? I can see it being a solid choice given the fact that it has quite a few redeeming values that could prove to be useful in the contest, but it almost seems a little unorthodox to me. I guess I can't exactly explain it, but it would be nice if you elaborated on your choice.
I guess I'm officially nominating Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind now. Legends seem to do well in these competitions.
I'm almost done with school forever.
Seems to be the case, and while it seems like the obvious choice, there could be a possible curve ball thrown at us for doing so. Or maybe I'm just overreacting lol.
Either way, I'm glad you're almost done with school!

It's an awesome, iconic card in the same vein as Necropotence that was reprinted recently with sexy art (JvC).
Alright, so tomorrow night I set out on the five hour journey north, and for a few days I expect to have little to no internet access, but then... then I will have returned. Rise of the Ravus-drazi!
...Did I really just type those last four words?
Edit: I support AI's choice of Jhoira for the Clan Contest. A Shivan scholar and artificer? Awesome!
For me it is either Niv-Mizzet the Firemind, or Mindwrack Liege. Either one is fine for me. I was unaware it had to be Symbolic or Powerful, where does it say that?
