Would Bushwhacker be worth it though? Since, at least last I knew, the only non hasty creatures RDW ran were Kargan Dragonlord and/or Plated Geopede .
I use Bushwacker in my decklist since I don't have Hell's Thunder. Granted, I don't have that many competitive players in my area, but he still does well in my opinion.
I've been slacking off in my posting, so sorry about the absence.
I'm (hopefully) going to start playing standard a bit more soon, running OTV, and so far I've got the decklist down pat. Thinking about losing my Glacial Fortresses (proxied) for Plains, and bindering my Drowned Catacombs for an Island and a Swamp. So far the deck has worked wonders, and the only matchup I'm worried about is the Planeswalker deck, but I'm hoping I can get some chances to test against it and learn what I need to to better prepare for it.
I finally got a close friend of mine into EDH, so that'll make my weekends even more interesting. He's decided to play Treva, and he still needs to take some time to learn how to pilot it better. Though we're still building it.
I'll post more when I know more.

I have Deckbuilder's ADD.

You got your friends into EDH?
Still trying in my mission to get my friends into EDH.
I think that's what I threw together, don't have any Hell's Thunder's or Dragonlords. Need to see if any of my friends have Staggershocks or Forked Bolts I can grab too, then throw together a sideboard.
A friend of mine made a RDW comboing around Pyromancer's Ascension. Should get him to revamp it with goodies like Staggershock.
Also looking to be a friend to the Izzet!
I reside with Dimir, but the odd companionship Red and Blue share draws me here. I mean, who doesn't like Deflection and Shunt?

I second (or third?) [The Izzet] pay 2 for Emrakul.
Also, I've finally managed to convince more of my group of friends to build EDH decks, but I can honestly say no one has any staples like Lightning Greaves, Tolarian Academy, Maze of Ith... I don't even think anyone besides me owns a Sol Ring. That in mind, I'm going to build a second EDH deck, this one a very, very laid-back, fun deck, and I need to find a general that suits that mindset. So far, I'm thinking re-use Pheldagriff, or maybe use Anthrax-imundar or good ol' Jhoira.

Just coming back to the game. New tradelist!

I will have to go with [The Izzet] Pay Two Mana For Emrakul since although you can cheat the other Eldrazi titans into play and get their benefits, Emrakul is like the one creature that pretty much makes you just go "game over man, game over!" after being fully unsuspended.
I'm back, but with a bitter twist of irony I should have foreseen. I'll have to explain later, for now I will just announce that I have not fallen off the edge of the Earth.
Oh, and, I would vote for the Emrakul clan title, but I'd word it slightly differently:
"[The Izzet] only need to pay [2] for Emrakul"
That is all. For now.

So do you or do you not have "infinite Internet access" now?
"only need to" is extraneous (read: dead weight) text and "[2]" looks ugly. I prefer my version.
ModRocker: Vote count please?
I went running (more than a mile) for the first time in a while yesterday. Surprisingly, my legs and abs are only slightly sore, despite going to work for seven and a half hours after running three miles. Even though it's been three years since I was in cross country, I've still got the runner's spirit.
So do you or do you not have "infinite Internet access" now?
He probably will have full internet access by next month. Hopefully those prices that he will have to pay are for high speed internet. Otherwise it isn't worth it.
Two big reasons stand out as to why, but I'll see if you can figure them out before I get the incentive to type more.
Really? I actually think Elves of Deep Shadow make a lot of sense for a Survivor-type competition because the card deals damage to its controller, which feels like an appropriate backstabbing mechanic.
To me, Shahrazad and Uncle Istvan are most deserving of a vote, as the former depicts a sheltered princess who is bound to suffer from roughing it and the latter is a raving lunatic, which may be due to his spending too much time out in the wild.
I guess my idea of a deserted island is a tad different. I'm thinking of an island more than likely situated close to the equator or lower latitudes, which means a lot of sun and minimal change in the overall temperature. For someone who comes from *Deep Shadow*, constant sunshine more than likely won't be up her alley.
Elves are also very social creatures, and love being around each other in groups. Our little gothic-model-wannabe is probably going to get homesick pretty quick being all alone, isolated from all her friends.
But hey, I can see justification as well for Shahrazad and Uncle Istavan going off his flavor text.

If you watch Survivor at all, the competitors generally make their camps in the jungle because direct sunlight will cause dehydration. That actually fits Elves of Deep Shadow pretty well, with the woodsy theme and all.

Elves of Deep Shadow are actually elvish outcasts, so that's another point in their favor.

Me too. I drafted a red/green deck loaded with Geopede's and Harrow's. It was completely nuts. He is a very good card for RDW as well.
Have you looked in the RDW forum?

Flame Slash is a SB card at best, you don't want any MD cards that can't hurt the opponent. Wrap in Flames is poor. I would run a fourth Plated Geopede, two copies of Chandra Nalaar, and three copies of Devastating Summons, then do some testing. If Chandra Nalaar is too costly for your curve, then Staggershock is a good card to try out instead.
About time!
We should start thinking of names for our next thread. I'm thinking something to do with Jhoira cheating Emrakul et al. onto the stack for 2.

I shall take your $0.02 and buy a Goblin Shortcutter, since that's apparently about what they're worth. Your contribution is excellent.

"Two Mana" is less ambiguous than "2," but I'm OK with either.
I think Round One of the Survivor CC is being posted later tonight, so that's something to look forward to.

I really like that format. Count that as my vote.
First round of the contest is up! As soon as I looked at the challenge and the cards that were shown, my choice is a slam dunk.

In line with Shahrazad, one could argue that Gifts Ungiven or even our card don't belong out in the wilderness, but to a lesser degree.
