Buthomar, the Spectrum of Death - 16
Creature- Eldrazi M
Vigilance
When you cast Buthomar, the Spectrum of Death, add 7 mana of any combination of colors to your mana pool.
Annihilator- 5
14/14
Issues with this card:
1. There are virtually no circumstances in which I would rather than this than Emrakul, the Aeons Torn, and the other two Eldrazi titans are usually better than this as well regardless of cost due to their superior triggered abilities. This shouldn't cost more than 12.
2. It's mythic and has a proper name but isn't legendary.
3. Vigilance really doesn't seem like an ability an Eldrazi would have. They're more the "devour X" type.
3. A few templating problems.

As usual, AI is freakishly accurate and insightful with his comments, bringing to all of our minds the possibility of him being the MTG equivalent of Doctor Phil.
Anyways, an Eldrazi with Devour? That's my kind of Eldrazi!
Galgram, the Nether Titan14
Legendary Creature - Eldrazi
Annihilator X
When you cast Galgram, it has Devour 6.
Galgram has annihilator equal to half the +1/+1 counters on it.
When Galgram is put into a graveyard from anywhere, its owner shuffles his or her graveyard into his or her library.

I'm not a huge fan of the eldrazi so i'm not really one to talk
When does ravus get un-suspended?
Ravus's suspension has expired. Alas, his new sig is not nearly as nice as his old one. He wanted me to pose for a male-only version of his sig to prove a point, but I politely declined. (OK, maybe not so politely.)

Thanks for the (intended) compliment, but since "Dr. Phil" isn't even a real doctor (nor even a currently licensed psychologist/psychotherapist), I'd hope to be a little better than him; at least the Jerry Springer of Magic.

An interesting concept, but I think we do a little better (as well as clean up the templating a little).
Galgram, the Nether Titan10
Legendary Creature - Eldrazi [M]
When you cast ~, for each Eldrazi creature you control, put a 0/1 Eldrazi Spawn creature token onto the battlefield. They have "Sacrifice this creature: Add 1 to your mana pool."
Annihilator X, where X is the number of +1/+1 counters on ~.
Devour 3
When ~ is put into a graveyard from anywhere, its owner shuffles his or her graveyard into his or her library.

EDIT: Some of you *COUGHSC* have yet to update your sig links. Get to it!
Also, we should decide on which card we're voting against soon. I support choosing Elves of Deep Shadow or Magus of the Disk.

Well, but here's the thing:
Comparable to Dr. Phil:
- Gives out advice without certification? Check.
- Strokes his moustache menacingly? Check.
- Has an almost Oprah-ine ability to influence masses? Check.
Comparable to Jerry Springer:
- Creates situations where people fight in bikinis? Fail.
- Appeals mostly to rednecks? Fail.
- Regularily segways into a Girls Gone Wild commerical? Fail.

Big, Bad, and Ugly. First swing wipes their board
1. I don't like the name.
2. The Eldrazi titans tend to have "When you cast ~" abilities, and this guy doesn't have one.
3. Amplify 10 and devour 5 is ridiculously swingy. The card either ends the game immediately or sucks horribly.
Thanks for reminding me to add a shuffle into library clause to my last card. I also uploaded a render.
Round 4 - Dim the lights, cue the music and get ready to blame it on the boogie.
That's right, people, we're having a DANCE-OFF!
It's time for our remaining cards to get their respective grooves on, but I think the assembled crowd have some pretty clear ideas about who's going to bomb out here even before a single step has been placed in anger. Who do you think is going to be the worst dancer?
Presenting our prospective Fred Astaires and Ginger Rogerses:
@AI: I've been thinking about your card and... I just really don't like it. The mythic Eldrazi are supposed to be very independent, and their spawn are supposed to synergize with other eldrazi, so having a mythic eldrazi only be good with other eldrazi makes it

1. Unplayable
2. Unflavorful
no offense.
First off, MY CARD, and I DO TAKE OFFENSE
Nah, I'm just playin'.
But seriously, Galgram doesn't need to be played with other creatures on the field, he's just better off for it. He's got Devour 3, which gives him Annihilator 3 for each card he devours, which can potentially be a ton, depending on how your field looks. Besides, he's dirt cheap, pays for himself via tokens depending on your field, and looks like Lovecraft himself would have spawned him from the aether.
Besides, if we're talking flavor, why does the Butcher of Truth let you draw more cards? Shouldn't he be butchering truths, i.e., killing knowledge, i.e. forcing discard?

The mythic Eldrazi are supposed to be very independent...
Where did you get this idea from? The only feasible way to cast Emrakul in RoE Limited is by sacrficing Eldrazi Spawn tokens; without some way of producing Spawn the card is totally useless. Galrgram simply pushes the sacrificial angle in a new direction. The only thing I regret about the design is that it doesn't have a relevant annihilator ability when it's the only creature you control when you cast it, but the fix would be worse than the problem due to the already cramped text box.
...and their spawn are supposed to synergize with other eldrazi, so having a mythic eldrazi only be good with other eldrazi makes it
1. Unplayable
2. Unflavorful
no offense.
Note that its first ability works with any Eldrazi creature, be it a lowly Spawn or Emrakul itself. I think this is very flavorful (Brood Birthing) and decently powerful in a dedicated Eldrazi Ramp deck. I was considering giving it devour 4, but that would be completely absurd in some situations.
An inquiry, if you don't mind: What do the Izzet think of life and death? Is taking one's own life ever acceptable? Why or why not? Don't feel obligated to answer, I don't mean to offend anyone, but be aware that I will probably aim to extend the dialogue exhaustively if you do reply.
The standard tournament I went to (running OTV) went somewhat badly, as I misinterpreted my meta and ended up going 0-2 > drop.
I think I'm gonna stay away from standard for a while as a result, and will probably do a little drafting here and there.
In other news, I found a 6-card combo that wins with DOOM CANNON! I know it's not an efficient combo, and is easily outclassed, but I'm building a deck around it to play with a new meta that isn't particularly 'good'. This deck'll likely be one of the better ones at the table. I'll post a decklist:
I haven't gotten to test this deck yet, and likely won't be able to until much later, but it looks pretty fun to play, as I get to shout "DOOM CANNON" somewhat often. The combo is also pretty sneaky, as each piece is extremely non-threatening. I figure this deck'll win mostly by surprise, then by forcing through the combo later in the game if need be. I don't predict that there will be much in the way of artifact hate in my meta, so that's not a big concern (if there is I can deal with it), graveyard hate is actually more worrisome, as at least one of the decks I know of runs Jund Charm as at least a one-of.
Thoughts?
