Well, I was trying not to spoil that, despite the fact that I don't think anyone who wanted to read the book hasn't already. I'm told it's awful and to stay away.
1) if you fear the drazi, nihil spellbomb = win. also, jace draw plan is effective to win that game as well.
2) you're welcome.

The other problem with Mark's is that you have me with weird as hell format breaking decks that somehow use hard to deal with card combos...:-D Serafis, welcome to the clan. Since GoC's car can fill up fast, if you're willing to travel into Flushing, Queens, I can give you a lift to Mark's on Friday nights. Mikey, grow up about your rating...LOL...Nice new clan thread, sorry I haven't been posting that much...I've been busy...really busy...LOL
Um... Mark's meta is random as hell because we have new players come and most of our players have 2-3 decks they always play... Your meta isn't that random.
Edit: One more thing... At mark's you will get people with random decks with random sideboard and maindeck cards which makes mark's very hard to prepare for... I'd say mark's is a bit more random than you think.
Wow, that makes alot of sense Mikey, "your meta isnt that random" Really? REALLY? A man who doesn't play at the store commenting on the meta there, that makes sense. I don't claim to know anything about Mark's meta and I'm sure it's diverse as you say, but to not extend us that same courtesy is blasphemy.
AND the best spells in magic don't have X in the cost. If you agree with this statement gimme a hell YEAH!
also, loves to watch the dance routine. 3 Count time?

Flip cards seem like a bit of a pain, but if they didn't push boundaries, the game would stagnate.
Morbid - Seems very much like it will be used like Landfall, which I'm okay with
13/13 blue seems awfully easy to flip.
fog + transform (moonmist) seems like a nasty limited card.
I thought split cards were moronic, and they turned out awesome, so since then I try not to ***** during spoiler season, and I wait to see how the cards play.
Also, if anyone could bring 3 ichorclaw myrs to Marks this Friday I will be super super appreciative. I can give you something in return or buy you a soda or something.
I think the flip cards are a bit inelegant and require a bit more work by players and judges, but I'll wait to play with them before I make a final decision.

Though it seems clear sleeves finally have a use.
I guess. I have a feeling I'll just use opaque sleeves for mine. Elsewise you will have to use the weird proxy/checklist thing. In the second case I guess the clear sleeves would be good...
Addendum to my other post - I only need one ichorclaw or one necropede. THANKS!
EDIT - @ MIKE - even if you don't like the set, you must admit the card art has been looking pretty sweet so far!!
Hey peeps. I went to 20-sided store the other day (I think Thursday) and like checked things out for a bit. Pretty cool times there. I'm thinking about going home for labour day weekend, but the stupid hospital's not giving us our schedule. >:
btw, first draft of M12 was...good (monetary) and bad (going 1-2).

What I mean is that you use the proxy in your deck and swap it with a clear sleeved double side you keep in a box or something. It's that or you need to take the card out of the sleeve each time it transforms, which is annoying and might ruin sleeves and cards more quickly.
I've also considered getting twice as many of a card as you need to act as the proxy, but the rulings article stated that the checklist card is the only acceptable proxy.

It would be cool if the made "official" proxies in any of the flips actually see big tournament play. They could make them the FNM card or something.
How does everyone feel about the Mayor art? I think the promo one is MUCH cooler than the real one. Also, don't they usually give a Mythic out at the prerelease?
Lastly - Info drop - In case there is someone that didn't see yet, there will be a flip card in EVERY pack. With only 15 flip cards I think that is super sucky. You are going to see the common ones 1000000 times in every draft.
quarter is awesome , duals are awesome, doll is poop, flipcards are poop thus far. I jus realized mikaeus is a mythic WTF is going on.
creepy doll is absolutely hilarious! it's the first coin flip card in a LOOOONG time that will even get a taste of standard play. i agree, it's not a good card for standard, but, as with many other fun but bad cards (SUX CANNON!), there will be someone who sleeves it up.

actually, there won't be many flip cards in a draft; there will be exactly 24, and there's only one really flip-heavy, linear deck (RG werewolf aggro) even possible... which i think people will generally stay away from, given that the werewolf flip triggers are completely manipulatable by your opponent.
as far as the mythics - yes, but i guess the only flip mythic is garruk, and PWs haven't been promo cards since ajani vengeant. call me crazy, but i'm convinced that this is further evidence that, despite WotC's public comments, they absolutely DO look out for the secondary market. AV was a heavily-played PW when he was in standard, yet he was always ~$7-10. examine the prices of other PWs who see a lot of standard play, please, and compare. (NB: WotC does have to show some deference to the secondary market, as many of its primary sellers are neck deep in the secondary market as well. i'm just making the claim that it goes WAY beyond the reprint policy.)

that shouldn't be a problem, i've got stacks.
both of these statements are 100% true.

I read that Maro's tweets heavily hinted that they didn't reprint that $150 three kingdoms guy in FTV:Legends because of secondary market concerns. I think that kind of sucks. Sure it would suck for me if they reprinted Polluted Delta tomorrow, but those are the breaks. On the flipside, they create new formats ie - Modern/Commander (I know they didn't create Commander but they pushed it) that make cards that used to be dollar rares go way up in value.
TLDR - They should never worry about secondary market that is kind of bull****.
I listen to the Top8Magic podcast. It's updated rarely, and you have to listen to a lot of Mike Flores thinking he knows what he is talking about, but I think it's fun.
I'm looking to trade for a playset of Spellskites. I have some cool stuff, esp for Legacy/Modern so we can work it out on here or over PM or whatever just let me know
Thanks in advance
EDIT so I don't double post -
I'm sitting here at work realizing that I started posting in the clan, but that many of you were not at marks this past week, and have no idea who I am or what my deal is.
I began magic during Ice Age/Homelands period.
It's me Rich Glicksman. I used to play at Marks a lot during the Odessey, Onslaught, and Mirrodin blocks. Mostly limited. I dropped out of paper magic, except I would try and get to most prereleases, especially the Sept ones.
Throughout, I have been a total MODO junkie. Not a grinder or anything, I have all kinds of crazy **** going on in my life, but I would try and get in 2-4 drafts a week when possible.
In the last two years, I went through some rough personal stuff, and dove into Modo pretty hardcore. My friends love to hang and draft together online, but that is really the extent of their playing. I am looking to take it to a much different level. I'd love to have a bunch or really committed players to share ideas with, test with, and maybe even travel to events with. The crowd at Marks seems like a bunch of likable guys, so hopefully I'll be getting there every Friday for some cards and fun.
I live in Long Beach if anyone is ever carless and needs a lift over to Marks for FNM. Or just want to play some magic AND hit the beach in the same day
I haven't played constructed in so long, but my limited ranking on MODO is 1800+, if that gives you any idea of the caliber of player I am.

Don't even give her hits. So shallow.
I've had numerous girlfriends who eventually asked me to teach them how to play and they ended up enjoying the game.
