While hanging around in the Casual forums, some of us realized that despite differences in age, location, and walks of life, we all have one minor thing in common: MTG is one of our hobbies. We are not tied to any one particular color, type, or style of game play. We generally play with friends at our kitchen tables (or perhaps at an occasional FNM). We all have different interests, and we'd like this clan as a way to create more of a community for Casual forum posters.
If you don't take MTG too seriously (that is, seriously enough to lurk around MTG Salvation but not seriously enough to make a career out of MTG), come in.
If you are a dreamer, come in.
If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar,
A hope-er, a pray-er, a magic bean buyer . . .
If you're a pretender, come sit by my fire,
For we have some flax golden tales to spin.
Come in!
Come in!

Great news on the clans approval.
So what should be the first topic of discussion?
I know..... Does anyone think Descendants' Path would benefit a Doran, the siege tower treefolk deck? I like to think so, or is Leaf-crowned elder still better?
Wonderful news!! Great to see you all here!
Path over Elder Pros:
-Cheaper
-Not restricted to just treefolk in the deck to make use of Path
-Harder to remove
Cons:
-Elder doesn't reveal card unless you plan to play it
-Elder gets better once Doran joins the party. Path sits in the corner while everyone else gets down with their bad selves.
I think I like Descendants' Path if I am going to go with a non-tribal build and include Doran. Elder would be the choice otherwise.
About the topic, I think it's a matter of your curve, mainly. Four mana is not bad for a treefolk deck. I tend to prefer the body, because of the reasons already stated by baldersmashed.
I think it would look better if we blended together art from a few different cards, instead of just having a Kitchen Finks banner. We just need to think of a couple other "Johnnie" cards that competitive players would never touch.

Perhaps this could be a contest? Like, we each present a card whose artwork we'd like featured (in addition to Kitchen Finks); then we could vote on maybe two?

MyRs: I would use descendant's path over the treefolk. I find that in casual creature removal is huge whereas enchantment and artifact is sideboard (and many inc casual don't have a sideboard)
As to signature: I don't know if the people near me are different, but is Dream Halls considered a casual card? I think it might be cool in a sig image.

Contests are fun:) Sometimes, haha. Does anyone play mafia in here?
There is a card creation contest coming up, soon. You guys can read all about it in the Clans Council.
Hi, I'd definitely like to come aboard as a friend to the clan.
I don't really know where I fall on the casual/competitive spectrum... right now my favorite format is probably Cube, which should give you some idea.
I don't really have a casual group any more, but this is a "casual" deck I brainstormed recently, around ceta sanctuary. As with most casual decks I make... it turned into stone soup.
For a while it got way too far from casual, so I gave myself the rule that all rares have to be singletons. (Otherwise curving Ceta into Huntmaster is too sweet. Or powering out a turn 3 anything via Rhada...)
The initial idea was that Firewild Borderpost and Ceta Sanctuary are a "combo," although... really you're doing a lot of work to make a RUG necropotence deck.
Shivan Wurm might seem like an odd "oh, you just ran out of rares" choice, but it resets your BBE's and your huntmaster, which is kind of cool.
It also sort of "combos" with Sarkhan Vol, if your opponent is playing red or green creatures. (Steal their Red or Green guy, bounce it with Shivan Wurm)
It might look a little land-light, but remember that I've got four borderposts tucked away in "combo." It's actually possible to get pretty flooded with this deck, but the cards are powerful enough that it usually doesn't matter versus other casual decks.
