Semi-related: I'm sitting in Panera, and I over heard some girls talking about me. They think I actually have music playing through my headphones. :X
“Ell oh ell! Did you see that guy over there? He’s such a nerd!”
“Ell oh ell! What do you think he’s doing on his computer?”
“Ell oh ell! Probably playing World of Warcraft or something.”
“Ell oh ell, probably ell oh ell. He’s wearing those big glasses, too. Do you think he picked them because he needs them? I bet he can’t see at all without them.”
“He reminds me of (don’t know who she was talking about). But he’s so much cuter.”
“OH EM GEE! I was thinking the same thing!”
“Yeah, he IS kinda cute ELL OH ELL!”
Me: -Snorts while taking a sip of tea-
For the record, I am NOT playing World of Warcraft.... I'm browsing MTGS forums! So much cooler, right?
Since you're probably not Matt Bellamy nor that blonde in your profile, how can you say that you could look like a nerd if you wanted to, but don't?
You're totally presenting yourself as a hopeless pervert, saying 'lol', 'lmfao' and 'bro' every other word. Just like you said: 'Its not the genes lmfao, its the way you carry and present yourself that makes you look like a nerd'
I actually don't know why I don't make sense, and I'm not defending the OP either, but I think having some respect is just part of social skills, which you obviously lack. 'Normal' people don't say words (or abbreviations) like lol and lmao all the time, therefore you must be a computernerd with a lack of social skills. You can't change, that's impossible. It's just the truth. It's absolute nonsense to think that nerds can be 'normal' just by presenting themselves a bit different. I've seen many nerds that tried, but they all failed.
Sphinx is really good. Control will play it and be able to protect him just fine, hes a much better finisher then Jwar Isle and thats saying a lot considering how good he alone is. Bazzar Trader.dec now has 16 threaten effects. Thats really, really, really, really good. Really good.

Sigh, yeah dude I lack so many social skills its hard for me to make friends. Honestly I cant even live with it.
Dude, the way you carry yourself is a big part of how people see you. Like I can post you guys a picture if you really want proof. Seriously, IMAGE MATTERS ALOT. Any nerd can go out looking fresh2death. You can be a nerd with your hobbies, but not your clothes, appearance, SMELL, etc.

The biggest nerd in my class wears normal clothes, isn't smelling bad or so, but he still says nerdy things and makes strange jokes. I doubt whether he can change that simply...

Of course you can change it, its just a matter of if you want to or not. Some nerds like being nerdy, however, they also probably do not care about social standing.

Sorry, but I'm going to have to go with Nova Chaser here. Obviously you feel that being cool involves saying complex words like, "bro" and, "dude," and behave in a way that exhibits complete disregard for others. I'm sorry to break your bubble, but your shortsightedness is not going to help in the future.
Sure, some girls are into the whole tough guy act, but at the end of the day, you're no different than the OP. You're expending time and energy into arguing on an online forum about ... real life? Please explain to me how that changes your image from "nerd" to "normal?" What is the definition of normal anyway?
I'm sure you'll find some snazzy comeback at me that lacks complete logic, so I'll make it easy for you. I can be classified as a nerd and I'm damn proud of it; and I wear perfectly acceptable clothes, am clean cut, and SMELL GOOD. Perhaps when you get a little older, you'll realize that it's more beneficial to be nice to people than to present yourself as an "alpha male." Any self-respecting and mature girl is going to agree with me on that. So, please take my advice and stop trolling the forums. I think you made your point already and can probably find something better to do, since you're so cool and are so high and mighty on the "social standing" ladder.
you're so cool and are so high and mighty on the "social standing" ladder.
Thanks man!
Expending 'time and energy' arguing about 'real life' doesnt necessarily change my image at all. Im completely anonymous here. None of you know what I look like, so the way I post on an internet forum can mean absolutely nothing.
And uh, nope! All my arguments were pretty logical.

DUDE thanks BRO!
You're welcome. Your logic, sir, astounds me.
As a side note, Mr. Koran, I know exactly what you look like. I can't say I'm too impressed.
If she was going to give the information to you anyway, there's nothing creepy about it.
Uh, what? If you were going to give your friend 20 bucks as a gift, and they took it before hand without you knowing, you wouldnt be a little weirded out?
I would be.
He should have WAITED for her to VOLUNTARILY give her the information

Uh, what? Money != information. Whenever I give away money I'm down however much money I gave away. If I give away my last name I'm down... nothing.
Guys, do you really not see how wierd it is to do what he did, lettuce be reality for a second, the odds ANY girl who is remotely attractive (I think this is where we have friction, just because you love your GF doesn't mean she's attractive), will be wierded the F out by that, and its called creeping, there's a term, I wouldn't be nearly as annoyed if the first post hadn't been gloating about creeping on a girl. Stop going, "oh, stop talking about the social ladder", the fact is it does exist, and those who deny it are ussually at the bottom, some of the people arguing are remarkably socially inept, the fact is anyone who answered the first option should really learn about how a social hierarchy works.
As a closing statement I'd like to say I know this is an MTG forum and I find nothing wrong with being a nerd, I am one myself, but being a nerd is no excuse to be so ridiculously socially inept.
Personally, I find the idea that you aren't willing to wait one week more creepy than what you did. I mean, I'm not trying to be offensive, but it makes you sound really desperate.

Yeah seriously. Maybe these girls he is going after are not very attractive, although that is completely subjective. Still though, lower caliber girls tend to take less "wooing" than others.

Peddling hookup artist BS to people who can't find dates is about on par with peddling homeopathy to cancer patients.

Being single kind of does that. Like, automagically. It's almost like Facebook is magic. I think Facebook is magic. Facebook is DEFINITELY magic.
But actually, you're right, the ad popped up again, and it wasn't actually her. They do look remarkably alike, though. Sorry about that.

1 year anniversary = ok
1 month = not so much
And secret tears still flow
What it meant to lose you
No on will ever know
To mourn for you no more
To remember all the happy times
Life still has much in store
We pledge to you today
A hallowed place within our hearts
Is where you’ll always stay
