Pseudo Assassin's Trophy on a land is some serious utility, wow. This might just be green's Shatterskull Smashing with how cheap / useful the Channel ability is.
That is one easy to use ability on an untapped land. Giving the opponent a land is annoying, but Path to Exile demonstrates that it's well worth it to get rid of a worthwhile threat.
A land that answers a land is not as important in cube as in constructed, but it's still a nice option to have.
The problem is likely the price ... Likely well over 60$ on release.

I'm trying to recall how many times I've seen Assassin Trophy used as artifact/enchantment/land removal in cube. I feel like it doesn't happen very oftem, which makes me a little tepid towards this card. Still gonna run it, of course.
Oh, and I guess it's really gross against artifact/enchantment creatures. Well then.
The problem is likely the price ... Likely well over 60$ on release.
I doubt that will be any issue whatsoever with this card. $60 feels quite ambitious for this card consider this is $20-25 all day long and is in a whole different league than this. I'll be pretty surprised if this settles much above $10 after a few weeks pass. Invest as you will but I think if you shell out anything close to $60 for this card, that will not pan out very well for you.
I look forward to testing this one out like everyone else though!

Gee shucks, I always forget about that. I probably won't be playing these lands after all.
It's basically impossible for a rare in a Standard set to be $60. Almost all the value in Standard sets these days is taken up by alt art chase Mythics and even those rarely hit that mark. The full art version might get over $10 but the regular version should be pretty cheap.
While I've found that just having the land fallback option doesn't make an otherwise average card good enough to cube, when adding that option to a strong effect, you have a staple. This definitely is the Green equivalent of Shatterskull Smashing. So far, I think it is the only one from the cycle I would cube though. Love that we're now spoiled with utility land options between Eldraine, Zendikar, Fogotten Realms, and now this.
My only concern is that there's now quite a glut of green utility lands. I currently run Cradle, Treetop, and the green MDFC, which would make this the 4th. IS this the end for Treetop Village?
I mean, I think all of those lands are great, and Treetop Village is a manland that can slot into any deck and has one of the better P/T ratios. Green is well suited to use and abuse those so I'm not planning to cut one.
For me it's - Lair of the Hydra - that will be cut. It has underperformed the most out of all DND lands. Next on the chopping list is Hive of the Tyrant but I'm not sure about Takenuma yet.
Personally I find smashing way over rated. Most of my red decks dont get over 4 mana or they lose anyway. This is way better than that. Should be buyable for $5 after a few weeks
I'll be going up to 4 lands in green for this, cutting Once Upon a Time, which I'd been under the impression I'd already cut. This land is definitely great, as others have noted, and green is in the best position of the colors to have one more utility land with lands-matters things.
Am I the only one to think that this card is just a tad overrated? Don't get me wrong, it's going in my cube for sure, most likely for Beast within, but there is an aspect of the card that worries me. Giving my opponent a land, untapped and even nonbasic no less, makes it so I really don't want to use this to hit a mox or a signet, which are often the targets of efficient artifact interaction in my cube. This means that boseiju is best used on later turns to answer bigger, scarier things. I wonder how many times I will be able to hold on to this long enough to use it as a worthwhile spell. But then again, it's a freaking forest so none of this really matters if you look at it as a land, which it is. And the interactions with wrenn, loam and regrowth effects will probably make this card insane regardless.

The downside is basically non-existant in cube and it has a very useful upside that will come up at least every couple games or so.
