Tyvar, Jubilant Brawler (1BG)
You may activate abilities of creatures you control as if those creatures had haste.
+1: Untap up to one target creature.
-2: Mill 3 cards, then you may return a creature card with mana value 2 or less from graveyard to battlefield.
Starting Loyalty: 3
This card can enable some crazy fast ramping in a creature-based green ramp deck. Other than mana creatures, it notably has synergy with Fauna Shaman, Priest of Fell Rites and Triarch Praetorian. Of course the section is tight and the card is likely too narrow, but it looks interesting and 3-mana planeswalkers often end up playing better than they at first look. Perhaps it is a card to keep in mind for a future combo strong enough to include in cube.
It has traditionally been a RUG theme in my main cube. I'm curious what adding black might do. Black traditionally doesn't have as may creatures with t abilities, but there are some good ones.
Plus this guy nurtures the graveyard, which BG always approves of. I love it. But it's a niche card for sure.
I think I want one just because I enjoy a card that features an elf joyously beating the hell out of a phyrexian
Seems quite good if you can elfball. And if your elves start getting shot, you can minus to start getting them back. My impression is that it's a really specialized card, and that might discourage people from finding room for it, but I could see it being very fun when it works. I might give it a go.
I wanted to bring back Orcish Lumberjack, and maybe this card can help it... In addition to play big ramp, I feel that Tyvar allows you to play storm with green mana dorks too.
This guy might just be the missing link in my cube, something that'd encourage Golgari players to take some mana dorks - and not just play straight up graveyard matters.
Seems too narrow, and it's too easy to miss with the -2. Yeah, it's great with tree speaker, but I'd rather just play another ramp creature or another powerful expensive spell than this enabler that needs another creature in play to do anything.

I have always been a fan of a theme of taps an untaps using pingers, Puppeteers, Vizier of Tumbling Sands type untappers, karoo lands, green land untappers like Arbor Elf, Wild Growth effects, multi-mana generators like Incubation Druid and Orcish Lumberjack, and even wacky fun like Instill Energy. Not to mention Kiora, Behemoth Beckoner, who is probably my favorite planeswalker ever printed.
