Aluren has been primarily used in constructed decks paired with creatures such as Cavern Harpy with creatures such as Spike Feeder with Man-o'-War or Parasitic Strix to generate a loop where a player could deal infinite damage/ gain infinite life.
The combo would be relatively difficult to assemble in cube and the cards in nature are relatively parasitic in nature.
However, I do want to talk about Aluren for a different situation:
One problem I been noticing is green midrange creature decks have been consistently struggling and do not perform similar to constructed is these decks lack cards such as Collected Company or Gaea's Cradle to really power its creatures.
I've consistently have noticed that the card advantage you gain from these cards are often just stuck in your hands and combo/ control decks could easily over power your board before your card advantage takes effect:
I've been finding myself shying away from cards like mulldrifter, recruiter of the guard and weaker swords in general as I find I just cannot spend turn 3 casting Recruiter, turn 4 casting a creature and falling very far behind on board.
I'm personally going to be testing this card along with Cryptolith Rite help lower to the ground green decks.
