Spears into Pruning Hooks 1W
Sorcery U
Choose one:
Exile target creature. Its controller gains life equal to its power.
Exile target planeswalker. Its controller gains life equal to the amount of loyalty counters on it.
Questioned Deployment U
Instant U
Return target creature or planewalker to its owner's hand "Actually, let me think about my loyalties again" - Noncommittal mercenary.
Planar Pox BB
Sorcery R
Each player loses 1 life, discards a card, sacrifices a creature, then sacrifices a planeswalker. "Plane has been quarantined to prevent inter-dimensional outbreak"
Seismic Redress 2RR
Sorcery R
Choose two:
~ deals X damage to target creature.
~ deals X damage to target planeswalker.
~ deals X damage to target player.
X is equal to the amount of basic mountains you control.
Oko's Game 1GG
Instant R
Destroy target creature or planeswalker. Its controller creates a 3/3 green elk creature token. My amusement never ends.
Spears into Pruning Hooks and Questioned Deployment look good. Sensible ways to deal with planeswalkers in colour and sensible designs.
Planar Pox seems overpowered. Compared to Smallpox the planeswalker sacrifice is probably better than the land sacrifice, especially since you might not run any planeswalkers, and Smallpox is already a pretty good card.
I would do and lose 2 life maybe? It's a bit of tricky effect to balance, I think, in that it's bad in a lot of decks but can be very powerful in the right one.
Seismic Redress seems overly complicated with choose two and scaling based on number of mountains. I would just pick one or the other.
Oko's Game is a colour pie break, just as with Beast Within. Kenrith's Transformation, a more recent card you might have referenced with this, was always a big bend and MaRo has already made comments suggesting he thinks it was probably a mistake to allow it even as a bend. A better green way to deal with planeswalkers is through "destroy target noncreature permanent" effects and, possibly, through fight cards like Thrash // Threat and Vivien, Arkbow Ranger, though we have yet to hear definitively whether that is going to be allowed in monogreen going forward. There's also the Questing Beast ability, which I expect we'll see again, or some variant of it.
Thanks for the help. I am surprised that the green one is a color break, but I do see why wizards might've moved from "destroy" to "enchant".
As for planar pox, is there a way to properly word it this way:
"You may lose 1 life, discard a card, sacrifice a creature, then sacrifice a planeswalker. If you do each other player then loses life, sacrifices, and discards cards the same way."
Such that opponents only sacrifice a PW or Creature if you sacrifice a PW or Creature.
