Been tweaking an enchantment themed deck, and its been doing quite well.
The deck runs the Oblivion Ring combo as its main wincon. If you have;
3 o-rings;
2 o-rings and a Leonin Relic-Warder or;
o-ring, a warder, and a Journey to Nowhere
You can generate infinite ETB triggers. Once you get infinite triggers Underworld Coinsmith nets you infinite life or Grim Guardian straight to the dome. The best part is at least one of those pieces can be on the field already, and you can just re-exile whatever was hiding when you decide to finish the loop.
With all the exile enchantment effects Demonic Pact was an obvious choice.
All the synergy cards are perfectly playable by themselves. Coinsmith hozes burn, Warder goes from "meh" to astounding depending on the matchup, and its not impossible to wipe the board and drain them to death with Guardian.
Lots of lifegain is great against burn, recurring pact crushes control decks, MD artifact hate against affinity, and you can usually stall long enough to combo out against some of the "go tall" creature decks like abzan or death's shadow.
Decks like Tron or Emrakul Breach have been pretty rough. Either way its a decently competitive deck thats a ton of fun to play if you're looking for something "out there"
Played a couple more matches with this deck today.
Managed to beat affinity a couple times pretty handedly; got manascrewed and lost to a land destruction deck of all things.
Gideon and demonic pact have been overperforming. Recycling pacts really lets you seal the long game. Underworld Coinsmith has been underperforming. Originally i liked him as a combo enabler and a way to gain life against agressive decks, but in practice he only gains you 2 life then eats a lightning bolt, or gets completely blanked by bigger critters.
The deck shakes off disruption pretty well. You usually trade 1-for-1 against creatures and disruption. Games usually stall out into topdeck mode, which is where phyrexian arena and pact shine; and then you basically take all the time in the world to either combo kill or use pact gideon and vents to beat them to death.
Tron is pretty rough tho. Getting your enchantment based removal wiped by an o-stone or ugin is usually game.
