So I hope this becomes a point of discussion for the new "You Make The Card" contest thrown by Wizards and our views on what do we expect/wish/not wish for the legacy public.
On the first vote I went for Land and did so in the tiebreaker, due to the fact that maybe we can get a little bit more creative with a Land. From the legacy point of view, we could expect something for the 43Lands deck, now falling behind due to DRS, or maybe something that may help the unthinkable.
On retrospective, someones in the Zoo thread asked for a Red 2cmc creature, to close the circle of stoneforge, tarmogoyf, dark confidant and snapcaster. If I noticed that before voting, probably creature would have been my choice, trying to get a buff for the Zoo decks, now a tad bit behind.
I hope we can see a utility land which can be played in legacy. "Anti-Combo Land"? Why not. Another idea that I had was something like Serra's Sanctum or Tolarian Academy but with Legendary stuff.
Enchantment, if a cheap one, could put Enchantress as a primal force.
But well, for now, the choice is either Land or Enchantment. What do you guys think?
I would be equally happy if it were an enchantment form of balance or a land that can disenchant. I just really like the idea of lands that can act as spells.

Actually, one thing I've been waiting for is a Volrath's Stronghold for Enchantments. I mean, we've got it and Academy Ruins, why not work through the cycle?

That would be pretty cool actually, I would suspect it to be white and could be pretty cool. I'm sure there would be a lot of open design space for decks based on that. A red one for instants (or sorcery)? Then what would be the green one?

I honestly think that if enchantment gets selected it will have a very small chance of seeing Legacy play. I'm going to try hard to design one that works in older formats, though. We might get lucky and see another Crucible of Worlds, but I'm not holding my breath.
A land would be more likely to be Legacy playable. I think we could see some excellent new options with the entire community designing a land.
Steve, Ground Seal is a card that doesn't see much play. It isn't impossible for a land to have a similar effect.
I was actually the one mentioning the Red 2 CMC card, but keep in mind my pet deck is Zoo and Aggro in general could use a boost (I made suggestions towards a creature in said thread). With that said, I voted creature in the first round in hopes that would be the ultimate design (i.e. build towards a Red 2 CMC card), but alas it will be a land or enchantment.
I voted Land since at least it can then be inclusive towards many decks (in theory).
I voted enchantment to maybe give enchantress in legacy some love. Land is very unlikely to impact legacy to to wasteland unless it's on par with wasteland, horizon canopy, or maze of ith/something of that caliber. Also, designing a land would be extremely boring in all likelihood. I give my full support to enchantment. I would like to see a land for enchantment recursion, but such a land is not likely to be printed via YMTC.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."
Designing Lands is fun... I wish there was a land that gave creatures uneartch or something.
Here was my card:
Maybe it taps for a color of a permanent that you control. Maybe just colorless.
1 mana and tap and sacrifice, do stuff...
I cant think of a fun ability to slap on something like this... Petrified Field already gets back lands... Buried Ruin gets artifacts back... Maybe a snapcaster mage land? Give a spell flashback? Or maybe give a dude unearth?
I voted land because if we're gonna pipe-dream, we're gonna friggin pipe-dream big.
I would absolutely love to see another fetch (fetch for a non-basic?), static effect (glacial casm is a lockout effect, bojuka bog have grave-hate built in), or utility (dual land...i'm serious folks, other grove of the burn williows, mishra's factory #2, etc).
I really hope the end-result isn't crap. An enchantment IMO would be such a let-down.

I mean, hell, we're all on a forum for something that most people would describe as a "children's card game"...do what makes you happy. You are never too old to enjoy yourself.
Voted lands, although, the likelyhood of anything from this affecting legacy is slim, it has to go through standard and anything that would be good in legacy would probably break standard (or be awful and out of place that they wouldn't print it)
T: Add 1 Colorless Mana
T, Sacrifice: Put target non-basic land on top of it's owner's library.
IMO this is the dream. It can almost fix what is wrong with Modern except this isn't a true wasteland replacement.
Still you can stunt the mana development of opposing decks and put pressure on them if they are playing 4+ colors. Can also net a little damage from bouncing shocklands.
This can still be a wasteland if you play it in response to shuffle effects.
Something that's even more valuable is the ability to make someone brick on their next draw, WOW! You know sometimes when someone doesn't miss his land drop even if you wasteland them twice... now you can punish them for having TOO many lands.
I feel this card is completely playable and fair. Might be cooler if you can do basic lands but that might create a whole new definition of OP when you recur it.

Massively downgraded wasteland variant. Still modern has no acceptable wasteland replacement.
This can still stunt mana development of higher curve decks or decks that require multiple color. You can net a bit of damage when you bounce early shocklands. Also a bit better late game where making your opponent brick on their next draw is more important than destroying a land.
Downside is that you can't mana screw your opponent (unless you use it in response to a shuffle effect).
I wish Modern just had some way to control mana a little bit. Ghost Quarter Blows. Tec Edge is just so Meh. Whats the downside to playing a 4 color mana base? Nothing? 4 color good stuff it is.

By the time you hit 4 mana, you can just play Tec Edge and actually destroy the land. It doesnt have to necessarily be a land that does it. Blood Moon just doesnt seem to be enough. Something like Price of progress or something... Price is obviously a bit OP, but something that actually has the ability to punish people. The problem is that Blood Moon is slow as hell to come down. With out fast mana it comes down on T3 and by that time they can already have a Goyf or Bob or DRS or something.
There are a lot of old cards I would love to see redone in such a way that they add mana. Something in the vein of tabernacle 2.0, land, t: add a colourless, t: chose a creature in play it had upkeep 2; you may choose to not untap <this>
So many cards I have dreamed about over the years.

When ~ Taps for mana, add a mana of any color to your mana pool.
Sacrifice ~; Add 2 mana of any color to your mana pool.
Am I doing this right?
A man land of some kind would be sweet. I love man lands to death.
Yo dawg, I heard you like lands, so we made a land that puts lands on top of you deck, so you can draw lands with land.

A little too little. What about not having to tap for using the ability?
Also, that + Serra Sanctum or Gaea's Craddle might be awesome.

Free uncounterable moat. Seems fair, and inline with Hasbro's direction for the game. On the other hand, it might make Stax tier 1; i would like that.
