I was brainstorming a simple black/blue creature mechanic to use on a set and came to this idea. It's partly inspired by Swans of Bryn Argoll, but I think it fits UB nevertheless. Tell me what you think.
Androc Spy 3B
Creature - Scorpion Rogue (C)
Feedback 1 (Whenever this is dealt damage, you may draw up to one card.)
3/3
Researcher's Remains 1B
Creature - Skeleton (C)
Feedback 1 (Whenever this is dealt damage, you may draw up to one card.) 1B: Regenerate Researcher's Remains.
1/1
Lab Trainee 1U
Creature - Human Wizard (C)
Feedback 2 (Whenever this is dealt damage, you may draw up to two cards.)
1/1
Androc Thrasher 1BB
Creature - Scorpion Rogue (U)
Feedback 3 (Whenever this is dealt damage, you may draw up to three cards.)
Androc Thrasher can't block.
3/1
Wall of Thought 1U
Creature - Wall (U)
Flying, defender
Feedback 1 (Whenever this is dealt damage, you may draw up to one card.)
0/3
Brainstorm Elemental 3U
Creature - Elemental (R)
Feedback 2 (Whenever this is dealt damage, you may draw up to two cards.)
Whenever Brainstorm Elemental deals combat damage to a player, draw a card.
3/2
Carrionsaurus 4BB
Creature - Lizard (R)
Feedback 1 (Whenever this is dealt damage, you may draw up to one card.) 2B: Carrionsaurus deals 1 damage to each creature and each player.
5/3
This mechanic seems a bit too powerful. Card-drawing is an incredibly strong thing to do, and something repeatable like this and so easily abusable (pestilence comes to mind, and there are hunreds more), it just seems broken.
Consider adding a mana cost that you have to pay in order to draw.
anything more than feedback 1 is insane.
consider changing damage to combat damage or damage from a source you don't control.
prodigal sorcerer + Androc Thrasher + some kind of pump like a +1/+1 counter or a holy strength = Ancestral Recall every turn.

Yeah, but thjat requires three cards, two of which are borderline unplayable in constructed by themselves. There are a lot of fair combos that do more with less effort needed.
I do agree that feedback 2 and 3 should be used very carefully, though. If it ends up on my set, I believe only a couple of cards will be anything more than feedback 1.
I do realize the power of carddrawing, which makes this mechanic a bit on the dangerous side. I guess playtesting will tell.

It's certainly an ability that blue has done in a similar vien with triggers on blocking and being blocked. See Psychic Membrane
Black can do it.
The first card is extremely powerful in limited. Hill giant + card advantage!
The wall might be fine. The membrane didn't make waves.
Butcher of Words.
