Quote from Kenaron
Magic only has so many set pieces so they repeat themselves eventually. I'd be surprised to find out that instead of a real R&D department new sets are developed based on stolen thought from internet forums, though that would explain some of the more stupid cards of late. I'm not going to name anything specifically, but I think we can all think of something in standard that if somebody posted in this forum we'd have laughed in their face.
Quote from Tarmogoyf-The Clash Mechanic?
-Time Spiral Block's irresponsible theme?(despite future sight's awesomely awesomeness.)
-A G/W painland that sacs to draw a card
-Doran (I would have laughed at not the concept, but the power on it.)
-Planeswalkers(Not that I don't like them. They are just so far out I would have laughed at someone for trying to make them.)
-"Purple Rarity" Sweet I got a... Squire. Couldn't I just have another common?
Meh, I'm sure most of you disagree with me on this stuff but that's how I feel. Maybe I'll come back with more later? Haha
Quote from KenaronHow's this, if somebody had posted Tarmogoyf in this forum before any Future Sight rumors had started we would have all laughed. Much of Future Sight has this feeling like it was ripped off from the internet, and not the good parts either. It was only missing Chuck Norris facts.
But I digress. I had a variation of Sunrise Sovereign, thought mine cost 4RR, was a 4/4, and didn't give trample. They are the same idea, but I can see how play-testers would have seen my version as needlessly weak.
Quote from TarmogoyfI don't think anyone would have laughed. Very few people knew he was good until pros proved otherwise. Dare to argue this? Goyf was 1-2 dollars for like a month.
Destroy target creature. It can't be regenerated. Put X 1/1 green insect creature tokens into play under its owners control, where X is equal to its converted mana cost. See here
Sometimes growth comes only at the cost of destruction.
