Numbness2WB Enchantment (R)
If you would be dealt damage, prevent it and put that many wound counters on Numbness instead. Then, if the number of wound counters on Numbness is greater than or equal to your life total, sacrifice it.
When Numbness leaves the battlefield, you lose X life, where X is equal to the number of wound counters on it.
Honestly, this needs to be a "Lose the game" clause rather than "you lose x life" clause, because people can work around the loss aspect.
"Whenever you lose life, instead prevent that loss of life and put that many Wound counters on X. When there are more Wound counters on X than your life total, you lose the game."

That's half the point. Without some way to abuse it, the card is basically worthless, so I intentionally added at least two ways to do so. The first being a means to maintain the likes of Felidar Sovereign and Serra Ascendant, and the second is that the life loss clause is perfectly avoidable with smart deck construction.
This should be black-white. While the damage prevention is white, the life loss clause is not.
You do have a point, but Phyrexian Unlife doesn't feel very white, either. I actually considered making it white and red to reflect some sort of barbarian rage, but that would have required more abilities to justify red's inclusion.
The card is perfectly monowhite, just as Delaying Shield, which is a similar design, is.
Honestly, it could go either way, especially given how much more room white has gotten for life loss recently. There's nothing wrong with the suggestion for making it black as well because black also gets highlife-matters cards as well.
