Some of them have spindly insectile legs protruding from them, others have wings (feathered or leathery), and a few even have hundreds of cilia/tentacles that lets them glide/ooze over things.

A naga shaman stands (sits?) very unimpressed with a human warrior that is attacking him with a sword. Said sword looks like its already swing “through” the naga but the top half is gone, having exploded into coins on contact with the naga.

An Inniatradi Skaab towers before a mob of peasants. In addition to its macabre stitch-work, it sports a series of number of embedded metal devices that crackle with lightning and glass tubes containing swirling gases. (possibly giests?)
Tone: A truly bizarre, but still terrifying threat.

OR

A pale spirit of a withered old lady stands behind a much younger lady mage with her hand on her head. The mage has a expression of shock on her face, but it could be either horror or revelation.
Tone: A transfer of knowledge, but is it being given or taken?
